Emanuel Zima was a Czech janitor who worked in the Czechoslovakian Embassy in Budapest prior to World War II. He hid 13 Jews in the coal cellar of the building after the Nazis occupied Hungary in 1944 and when the building was being used by the Nazi secret police, the Gestapo.

We need to remember these people, their actions honor our humanity. They did this at a time when it was very dangerous to do so. Glory to the hero's. God bless them!

Demonstrating how an individual person of decency & bravery can make a real difference in people's lives, Mr Zima didn't just help 13 Jews, he helped the hundreds of their descendants that remain.

Inspire by this true story. It is just TWO individuals that DEFEATED the huge evil that almost destroyed the World. GREAT people. THEY deserve something like a national memorial or equivalent.

Very interesting story and an excellently produced video. One comment regarding the description of events. Nazis didn't arrive in Hungary in 1944. The existing government, allied with Germany and the other Axis powers, was Nazi from the beginning. What changed in 1944 was that German soldiers occupied Hungary and began exterminating the surviving Jews.

when someone says they can't do anything because they are alone in fight. Look at the example of this man and his son who risked their own lives to save others. this could be an inspiration for russian citizens who keep making excuses.

My aunt had to run out of Budapest when she was 8. The family ran through land mines, think some $ came with, everyone ended up settling in California. The gal I should of married mother and her parents barely made it out of Germany.

What a wonderful and brave gentleman. I doubt that I would have been able to do as he did. It's one thing to feel sorry for the Jews but quite another to turn that sympathy into action.

I LOVE stories like this. Especially considering how close the USA came to fascism on Jan. 6, 2021. If Trump had managed to illegally seize power, it would have only been a short time before he would have started using his militia to persecute anyone he didn't like.

I hate to disappoint you from the brainwashing the left has done to you, but Fascism is a Democrat ideology. January 6th wouldn’t have led to Fascism. Now stop letting the Democratic Party tell you how to think.

What would be the last place a Nazi would look to find Jews in hiding: Gestapo Headquarters? Brilliant!!!! A super brave hero with stones of steel. So when he was very ill, the Doctor probably saved his life. A life you save may be your own. I've lost count on the number of times I have helped someone (many were small things I didn't even remember) who reappeared in my life when I was the one in need. 🦁🫀👏🙏
