My late father was the Officer in charge of a police station. By his rules, no pregnant woman was allowed to go on patrol. Any male officer who became sexually cheeky found himself transferred within a few days. A top father too, who with Mum gave us a peaceful upbringing. Love you Dad
@OliThaTwist
@OliThaTwist Год назад
I'm sure he meant well but he was part of the problem. The culture of "transferring" officers who are guilty of sexual harassment/corruption etc is outrageous.....they should be sacked and investigated......not "transferred".
@albertlanger2339
@albertlanger2339 Год назад
@@OliThaTwist I agree, but I look back at the time - the early '80s. Dad was known, when he knew a complaint was again to be withdrawn by the family victims, would take the male out of sight, give him a beating and tell that the next tine it would be harder. Clearly that did not work in most times. Dad was tormented and retired as soon as he could for a pension.

Police write there own IOPC complaints. Mine was done by my ex’s boss! Had it reviewed. No trace of that now! If you think anything is changing think again. Mass cover up still in 2024. This spans into other public sector areas too as they retire and go into other jobs and the corruption goes with them. If you try to fight they use your kids as weapons having brain washed them threaten you of slander! They then accuse you of abuse and do MASH referrals against you!

Nobody in the world is shocked by the actions of any police. I'm not from the UK, but police everywhere sound very similar. Even with the ability to view police interactions through cameras, still nothing changes. It's quite depressing. Do the police in the UK wear body cameras? Cause here in the u.s, they have to wear body cameras and there's still little to none accountability.

This is so awfull. My heart breaks for the wife and the daughters. I myself had my two daughters with a man just remotely like that. Telling me, that he was a good man. If I said anything, that could be understood as negative towards him he would either tell me he was worth nothing og sometimes say things hinting at suicide. He would deny it if I asked him outright, but then he would hint again a few days later. "I might come back", when he drowe of to something. Even if he had the girls with him! I was scared s***less. I told him so many times I wanted to leave. He, who was unsatisfied every time he had to take care of the kids, he would fight me for them and I knew he could make it seem he did everything at home. At this time they were 1 and 3 years old. He would want them half of the time. I couldnt imagine not being with my kids. I didnt know where to go. He never hit me or the kids. The father had severe stomache-pains every day and our doctor couldnt find out what it was. I was afraid it would be cancer. I lost my father to cancer when I was 21. This caried on for 1 1/2 year. I was in therapy cause I just couldnt do it anymore. In the end I left. I was falling apart. I got a flat through my workplace. I was scared of him. So was my oldest daughter, 7 at the time. I had to wath every word coming out of my mouth, and it was still never good enough. In public he would act absolutely normal. Its so hard to explain to others. It took so long to understand it myself. I was living on my own since beginnig of 2010. After being afraid all of the time I later suffered from depression and later anxiety. I couldnt do my job anymore and I now work fewer hours. In 2013 I found a good guy also divorced. He is a support to me an my kids and I love him. I still have to deal with my ex from time to time and honestly it can still be a pain, but luckily the girls are so grown up by now, that it is not often. I have had this house for 11 years by now and I really enjoy my garden. I have started growing some of our own food, and that is meaningfull to me. Its been a long journey. 🌱

Why did the wife stay with him? and allow the kids to live like this?
@ruthsmith1694
@ruthsmith1694 10 дней назад
Why? that is what i have always wondered. The reasons are mostly likely to be that those in an abusive family have nowhere to go and so tolerate the abuse. If you have only yourself to think about it is still hard to escape the abuse but possible, when there are kids involved and there are no family members/friends to help then i`m sure it is for that reason many abused victims do not report abuse and escape it. There are charities which help families in domestic violence situations, so that would be a call worth making to ask for advice and to sort out a plan of action of what to do to escape it. One of my sisters who had two abusive husbands and four kids at the time had the help of her niece who helped get her out of that nightmare world and has been happily married to her third husband for over 25 years. We only have one life so it needs to be as good as we can make it.

Yes well the other problem is even if you are a victim of domestic abuse from someone other than a cop responding officers may be more sympathetic to the abuser than the victim maybe they don't bother enforcing protection orders either help intimidate and worsen situations because they are control freaks and sometimes criminals themselves.

I`m sure there must be some good people in the police force but as time goes by it seems the bad outweigh the good. They are often a law unto themselves and many get away with criminality. There needs to be a complete overhaul of the police force and anyone who breaks the law should be instantly dismissed and never be allowed to represent the police force ever again. The public have no faith and trust in the present day police force which is why many never report crimes and some take the law into their own hands to solve crimes. It is a very sad fact but true.
