How a Diesel Engine Works ? | 4 Stroke Diesel Engine Working in Hindi | by Automotive engine Hindi

In this video, I explained how a 4 stroke diesel engine works.
Diesel engines work by compressing only air, or air plus residual combustion gases from the exhaust (known as exhaust gas recirculation (EGR)). Air is inducted into the chamber during the intake stroke, and compressed during the compression stroke. This increases the air temperature inside the cylinder to such a high degree that atomised diesel fuel injected into the combustion chamber ignites. With the fuel being injected into the air just before combustion, the dispersion of the fuel is uneven; this is called a heterogeneous air-fuel mixture. The torque a diesel engine produces is controlled by manipulating the air-fuel ratio (λ); instead of throttling the intake air, the diesel engine relies on altering the amount of fuel that is injected, and the air-fuel ratio is usually high.
In a 4 stroke diesel engine, engine completes the 4 cycles in 4 separate strokes.
1. Suctiin stroke
2. Compression stroke
3. Power stroke
4. Exhaust stroke
In suction stroke the inlet valve opens and piston moves from TDC to BDC. In this time fresh air comes to the cylinder.
In compression stroke piston moves from BDC to TDC. in this stroke both valves are closed and piston compress the fresh charge.
Just before piston reaching in TDC the fuel injector injects the fuel into the compressed air.
Due to high compression ratio of diesel engine the temperature of air rises up to 550 degree celcious. When injector injects the fuel in high temperature air the fuel quickly burns and pushes the piston to BDC. is called power stroke.
Due to inertia of flywheel piston moves from BDC to TDC. in the process the burnt gases goes outside the cylinder. This stroke is called as exhaust stroke.
