Obviously i don't want to offend, but i think this build and pretty much all tanks are going to be terrible vs the new onhit % monsters we are going to see (old guinsoo back+all magic onhit damage from items)
Well if you wanna get 100% technical its 160 hp, not 80. Her passive scales 1:1 with hp, so any hp she gains is basically doubled once every passive usage
I played Tanknivia back in season 4 with Frozen Heart being core since she was so mana heavy back then. Been playing Bruiser since 2 seasons ago, and adopted RoA as soon as it came out. People dive so hard just to get killed. It's great.
This build was always pretty great in ARAM (I personally go Everfrost into Fimblewinter->Warmogs since you can use the wall's displacement to knock people into the Everfrost root) but the lane-specific tech in this build is awesome.
I've found myself buying frozen heart pretty often lately for tanky mage builds, enough so that I suspect it's about to have a popularity moment as an item. It seems the perfect compliment for the no mana mage mythics, and if you take conditioning on your secondary tree...that can get pretty annoying. My personal favorite is veigar. Just take conditioning and overgrowth secondary and build a pen item, rabadons and go frozen heart or spirit visage followed by other tank items.
Passive item effects also work while anivia is egged. Yes, you can literally kill adcs if you have tonkmail as an eggnivia, the adc will unalive themselves first.
THANKS FOR MAKING MY FRIDAY NIGHT 157% BETTER HAPPYCHIMENOISES HAVE A LOVELY DAY AND THANKS FOR ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO (I HAVEN'T WATCHED IT YET BUT I'M SURE ITS GOOD)
If you think about it though it's not so weird. She has a wall which creates tons of utility potential, an easy to land aoe slow and an aoe stun. What else can a tank ask for ? It's not that different to a tank Udyr or tank Gragas.
Any reason why you wouldnt do something similar with Swain? ROA/Heartsteal into full tank, or Lyandries into full tank. the only downside I see is, Swain is, sadly, less safe as a laner toplane.
What about playing predator instead of electrocute on the build against dive champs? Might be a weaker early, but will probably combine well with anivia trying to get to the enemies carries in the mid game
Melee is for only slows I believe. Should work with anivia stun, the wording on the item is just a little confusing. Stun OR MELEE SLOW = ranged stun works.
Full tank anivia means you sit in her ult while he sleeps. Glad the chicken tank is getting attention because I'm tired of people reporting me for being off meta with her for many years.
Its lame how i been doing this stuff for years and people report me, but when someone says a korean did it it gets so many likes. what a racist world we live in.
@@bludinparis …Well, yeah? He gets flamed because he’s most probably in a much lower elo. People assume you are trolling if you this sort of crap in the lower brackets because of the nature of the game
One thing I'd recommend is taking Demonic Embrace late game, the burn synergizes very well with your ult and all the HP from Heartsteel and Fimbulwinter will give you a lot of AP., take it 4th or 5th item depending if they have a lot of magic damage for FoN. There comes a point in the game where you're so tanky that building more tank won't make much of a difference so some damage is better.
It makes perfect sense for Anivia to be a tank. She is cc-packed, immobile, and scales strongly with her insane wave clear and passive that doubles her health. And indeed her long range with grasp interaction made her to be actually tanky.
@@buzzlightyearpfp7641 her passive giving her another life means her health is effectively doubled (note: early game her egg has reduced resistances though, although late game it increases resistances) which is already pretty tanky. In terms of crowd control she has an AOE stun, a large AOE slow with virtually no cooldown, and a legitimately OP and very rare form of crowd control in the form of her wall which I really can’t stress enough just how much potential that wall has. And with tank anivia, you don’t need to worry about being punished for getting into whatever position you want to get in for using your abilities. Her crowd control essentially becomes more effective because the enemies can’t force you out of doing what you want to do. There’s certain wall placements where if you combine the wall with the walls on the map Anivia basically gets a ranged Jarvan ult on a reduced cooldown. If the enemy doesn’t have a flash or dash and gets stuck in these wall spots, they are legitimately unable to move for 5 seconds until the wall breaks. Even regularly placed walls can completely separate a fight. Compare her to crowd control based tanks, not “durability based” tanks like Mundo. You are correct that she doesn’t have super extreme durability built in, but the passive is really enough as at minimum it doubled her effective hp which means any durability items are more useful on her because they not only go on her but also to her egg/when she revives from her egg. I’m biased because I play tanky anivia too but in the support role, but I can definitely say that with a bit of durability she becomes a menace just because of how much raw crowd control (and lowkey damage too) she brings to fights. You’re very reliant on your team to be semi-competent as you’re not building to be the max damage carry, but tank anivia is extremely disruptive to the enemy team, and while the enemy tries to focus down her and her egg, her team should be able to clean up the fight. But again I really need to stress, her wall at max potential is a 5 second cc on top of her other cc abilities, and can literally block off an entire lane at max rank. Think of her as a disruption tank and she makes a bit more sense as a tank, she heavily heavily disrupts the enemy team and if you build her tank there’s nothing they can do about it
I knew this was an op strat. I started playing this on oce ages ago. But none of the other anivia mains believed me. Hmm I am going to try and get to master w my speed anivia build
Here are a couple of thoughts I have about this build: * If learning this pick, you should start with Grasp + full tank. Once you learn enough, you're free to explore the RoA build. * Even against squishy comps, I'd argue that Grasp is better because of the free HP you get + tankiness from the green tree. * Against a full dive comp, Grasp + full tank >>> RoA + tank * If you're confident about your positioning + kiting, then you should look for opportunities where you can opt for Seraph's instead of Fimbulwinter. * If you're more confident, then try swapping Heartsteel for RoA. * Depending on the enemy comp, a Jak'Sho variation could be viable.
Why would Grasp+Full tank be better for learning. RoA is way better for beginners, it's similar to regular Anivia which they might've played and it is still very tanky if you go RoA into tank. RoA better for pretty much every situation.
one time i tried tank senna top and idk why i stopped, played almost 10 games and won almost each one... Well, not i go splitpush trundle top with a 75% wr on 50 games... so i guess i dont need senna XD. TANK OFF META TOP FOR THE WIN!!!
Relentless Hunter and Mobility Boots seemed so weird until I realized that was Bard at first--faster roams focused on landing one setup CC. Makes a bit of sense. (Nowadays, Bard builds seem to be focused on getting multiple Qs, needing more in-combat move speed and tenacity.)
In similar light, tank Karma top is also disgusting. Compared to Anivia, Karma has less poke and teamfight in exchange for better self-peel with E shield + ms and W guaranteed root, especially empowered W with disgusting heal, you are able to turn ganks and dives around easily and unexpectedly. It is noteworthy that both of these picks lose to divers with consistent DPS that can jump on them easily, like Irelia.
I think Demonic Embrace would fit really well with this Tank Anivia build. It gives ap based on hp. Tank anivia has lots of hp and her skills naturally have very high ap scaling. Also your ult would synergize well with max hp burn passive of Demonic Embrace. I think demonic is the perfect item for this build. Somebody please try it and post how it went.
See I have been doing a similar thing with Swain for the past season. Rather than full tank, I offset it slightly with a Demonic embrace, just to lift the damage and give you some health tank shredding capability. Coupled with Swains Passive, I generally find myself with 6-7k health by the end of 30min games. I feel this might be one to try out as there is a 75 range difference between Swain and Anivia. My only concern is that at low ELO (I'm only Silver 3) I find many players can't cope in their lanes. I find Higher ELO players can mitigate lane loss relatively well, while lower ELOs (Myself included) don't necessarily know how to handle lost towers and bad matchups
Against more roaming top like Janna or Shen this seems awful. Thankfully barley anyone does play these champs Definitely gonna abuse that strat till it gets nerfed or too widly known.
Had a tank Anivia top play this in one of my games. She was doing well, for a time... Unfortunately for her I'm a Kog'Maw main and was able to 100-0 her in 2 seconds flat after the midgame rolled around
I’ve actually tried this with Annie before because of the long aa range, the only issue with it is getting into heartsteel range with her so I think anivia is better because of the wall and slow
It does, the description is just confusing. It works on stuns for every champ, it works on slows only for melees. So anivia q is perfectly fine Immobilising an enemy - gives shield. Or if you are melee - slows give a shield. That's what the item means
I HAD TO CARRY THIS IN A D4 SOLOQ GAME PLS MAKE DISCLAIMER TO NOT FIRST TIME IN RANKED (all she did was feed the enemy graves, if their bot didnt afk we prob lose)
Im happy to say that as off meta enthusiast I had already "invent" anivia tank for myself a long time ago, Unfortunately not as succesful as our fellow grandmaster But I saw the potential. Great video as always
8000 health meet botrk, liandry's, lrd, demonics and 30%-40% of champions in the game that all have %hp damage. it's tanky but your aren't out tanking mundo. and while you are doing no damage the 6k hp mundo with 2 items has 400 ad and does 30% current health magic damage every 3 seconds. also mundo isn't a tank. he builds full tank cause he is got a bs kit that is super toxic but he isn't a tank he is a juggernaut. tanks need lots of cc it's meant to be their thing. but riot doesn't seem to care about class strengths and weaknesses cause yone and yasou both have 2 seconds of big aoe knockups which is the best kind of cc which most tanks don't have. so yeah they are kinda useless now when you can run a damage champion with more cc and a juggernaut like mundo which are tankier then most tanks. if i play a juggernaut with sustain i normally tank 2 times the damage before dieing then i do as a tank (counting the mitigated damage as well.) if you want to do the not even a scratch challenge play like red kayn or even lillia with rift maker cause you just heal so much and are so mobile you are a lot more likely to live to complete the challenge.
Anivia has such a cool aesthetic I mean an ice hawk. But like watching her play is really boring. Why couldn't they have made pet shop from jojo's but in league.
I want to see this vs Kennen tops in Pro Play. Not only would they also have to dive the egg, your lane is easy and you have so much counter engage power budget, especially if he can't flash the W-all.
Is rushing spilt push item while perma push and forcing her to use ult to clear wave and hullbreaker canon under the tower and when her out of mana go destroy tower couter this build? Or there is something more than I thought By the way sry for my broken eng.
