This was an exact replacement for the old one that lasted about 10 years. ru-vid.comUgkx7yWIKcrbA9KMHkGSfcgxW2lsjHT6B8Sh The top of my mitigation tube by my roofline was just a 90 elbow which allowed too much debris to fall down into the fan, eventually ruining it. Without this issue, I bet it would have kept running another 10 years. When I replaced this fan, I added an extra elbow joint so the top tube now it does a 180, which should solve that problem. The radon guys around here wanted to charge me a $300 diagnostic fee, then parts/labor (probably close to $600 total). I installed this all by myself in about an hour for the cost of the fan; it would probably be even easier/faster with two people. FYI the manufacturer's warranty greatly differs depending on whether you install it yourself (1 yr warranty) or have a licensed installer do it (10 yrs).

Amazing video quick and to the point! So the inducer motor both pushes the exhaust out and pulls new air in? It’s basically pulling all the way through the heat exchanger to the other side past the combustion to get new air in right?

so the hot air that blows out is just the cold air that was sucked in?
@4u25out

Its called " cold air return vents"

Yes,the cold air turns hot when the fan blows it up through the heat exchanger

Good video. one question, is the evaporator coil always burned by the hot air from the furnace in winter?
@dakotathornburg4080
@dakotathornburg4080 8 месяцев назад
The heat won’t damage it but yes the coil is blasted with heat in the winter. Unless you have a heat pump in which case the evaporator becomes the condenser and you heat with the coil

Hello. Great video. I live in an apartment and the gas furnace stops working during a power outage. Can I connect a vehicle battery or some other power source to the furnace so that it will run during power outage? Thanks

Yes. These days, best to get a portable large lithium home battery (power station) that has inverter with AC plugs for 120VAC 60Hz output (if you in N. America). Examples: Ecoflow, Tocoflow, Anker, etc. This batteries avoid nasty gases, loud oily operation and possible CO poisoning are just more environmentally friendly too. You will only need to make an adapter for the neutral and hot lines to the furnace and have a way to switch between "normal mode" from the house mains to "backup mode" when powered from the battery. Make sure the two modes can _never_ be connected at the same time. Otherwise you could blow out your battery's inverter when the house mains power comes back on suddenly.

Is there a way we could add some sort of humidifier to this system?

shouldn't the returns be on the floor and the vents on the wall since the colder air should sink?

So the condenser is not needed for heating ?
@konstantinosvassilopoulos2162
Not in a furnace, only with a heat pump
@Boss_Tanaka
@Boss_Tanaka Год назад
Condensers exist in modern gas furnaces. The water vapor in the exhaust is cooled down too to provide extra heat. The condensed water vapor is sent in the drain.

What is the outside unit? You didn’t explain
@TaliSteele
@TaliSteele 2 года назад
The outside unit serves no purpose for heating. The condenser unit is used to pull hot air out of homes, while distributing cool air through the home’s supply vents.
@HearMeLearn
@HearMeLearn 2 года назад
that's the thing that cools your house. It's the air conditioning unit that pumps refrigerant into your house and expels the heat from your house
@konstantinosvassilopoulos2162
