That's what angers me so much. Why do creators have to hand over their personal information to anyone who asks, even people who don't exist, yet THEY never have to provide proof of anything?

Came here to say this. So insane to me that refuse to allow proof and defense before they hurt their creators.

when i joined youtube in 2005/2006 i had a video with 6,000 views which was a lot back then, and i couldn't monetize it, even though it was my own music video i wrote and directed, because i had to have a bunch of legal documents. but anyone can claim copyright on it and have it taken down, with absolutely no proof.

Hiring people cost company and RU-vid is changing profits. If it doesn't impact their bottom lines, they don't care. Where else are you going to turn to for videos? Vimeo?

RU-vid was completely negligent by allowing a convicted hacker to exort users into giving data by abusing THEIR copyright takedown system without any verification needed. RU-vid is not protecting their users by making these fake copyright takedowns appear as legitimate. It also paints the holder as someone who you can send your legal personal info to without the worry that the info would be abused (like swatting, doxxing, ddossing, anything else a CONVICTED HACKER wants to do with it). This is a little extra note, but RU-vid needs to have a system where the copyright holder needs to prove their copyright and go through a background check before they are allowed to issue a takedown or claim. A US court case ruled that copyright holders are required to consider fair use before issuing a DMCA.

I hope Vince doesn't just drop this. This isn't the kind of guy that just quits. He will go after Vince or someone else again. The only thing that will stop him is if his ability to harrass people is removed. With all his hacking crimes, theres a chance he is on some kind of probation. I would make sure the officer assigned to him is aware of his activity.

What state does the hacker reside if you can find them county then narrow down the list of probation offices call them individually and report the cyber of sinet (idc how I spelled nor do I want to) with multiple reports and a link sent to their email can get him court marshaled or a sheriff to arrest him for use of the internet cyber attack and harassment

Depends on the probation agreement.

Knowing google and how scummy they are, there’s more than likely a “no suit clause” in the contract they sign where if anything happens you can’t sue.

I had my one of my RU-vid accounts (that is also tied to my Google account) logged out without reason or warning. I can only speculate i got hijacked and even trying to recover an account is a special kind of hell to go through

It's part of their Safe Harbour provision; they can't admit they know what's going on with the platform (unless it blows up to mainstream media), or they'll be in violation of it. There's also a _ton_ of corporations that are salivating and waiting to tear RU-vid apart once they're unable to be protected by those provisions. To RU-vid, the best way to go about it is to just leave disputes between users (and abusers, unfortunately).
