www.futurelook... - During our trip to Taiwan for COMPUTEX 2010, we scheduled a few excursions that took us off the show floor. One of them was a visit to GIGABYTE's Nan Ping factory which is located in Taoyuan, Taiwan. We had a chance to see the whole process of building a motherboard from beginning to end. If you've never seen one made, you have to check this out. It's amazing how many people have touched, inspected, and packaged your board before it makes it to the store shelves. All of this is done in under 10 minutes!
For real-time pricing of retailers that stock GIGABYTE motherboards, check out the link below:
www.futurelooks...
And as always, please subscribe to our channel if you like the stuff we're uploading! :)

I can only say that the whole process of assembly is just beautiful, I just hope the workers get to switch station often to not get bored out of their minds :D

I just want to thank gigabyte's uk service center, they fixed my board when it failed only 3 days left in its warranty, in 6 days it was returned, now thats service. they even replaced al little plastic clip i broke years ago! as a repair tech I have always recommended gigabyte boards and will continue to do so.

it may be shaking but at least we can see whats going on. i know ill never get the chance to see this amazing factory in person so this is a fab job if you ask me they didn't have to put it on RU-vid did they? but they were kind enough to give us a chance to look at what they had experienced so just be a bit more grateful for small mercies. thankyou FUTURELOOKSDOTCOM thumbs up from me!

They install the capacitors, Ram slots, SATA slots and heatsinks by hand. Each one gets a UPC serial and tested at the end! Before an employee places then in an Anti static bag and a box!

@jonathanoxlade4252
@jonathanoxlade4252 7 лет назад
yea till you go to a press machine and you daydream and crush your hands this is why injury in this work is possible you get used to doing it becomes second nature untill karma comes and runins your life always be aware of what you doing because people do lose fingers and hands to machines
@HikikomoriDev
@HikikomoriDev 7 лет назад
It's easier to do something like this and then not have to worry about complex tasks and risk of not being able to keep up with the work. It gives you a little space from anxiety.

I did something like this some years ago but satalite boxes and ericsson mobiles. The sky mainboards after all parts were placed went through a wave soldering machine. Weights would be put onto the boards and would have to be taken off after going through. That was worse than placing parts tbh. Best job there was right at end of the line where the boards got touched up by hand. Still probably the most boring job I've had lol

What amazes me is how much labor is still required. I wonder when the cost will reach the point where all of that will be automated.
@inachu
@inachu 9 лет назад
2:09 The finished soldered unit is then placed into a continuity checker to confirm pathways are complete and communication across the board is possible.
@inachu
@inachu 9 лет назад
0:37 this process lays down some paste to hold the components in place so they do not move around when put into the assembly automated process. It is the same process as the silk screening method of printing t-shirts but in this example the design is not a threaded fabric but a thin metal plate with design cutouts to let the paste go through.
@shifty51008
@shifty51008 8 лет назад
that is solder paste, it not only holds the parts down but the heat you see being applied later solders the parts with the paste.
@nzoomed
@nzoomed 12 лет назад
Very interesting to see how they are made, its amazing how many individual components are put on these boards, mostly by machine, but the PCI slots and even the stickers are all done by hand! lol so many small stickers that have to go on the exact place, i wonder how ASUS compares?

@sparda9060
@sparda9060 8 лет назад
+KelvinW344 some asian countries require the company to hire a certain amount of workers as per contract in order for them to build a assembly factory there. Its a trade off so that the country's economy can be boosted and also help their citizen get jobs. Same shit in mexico with american car companies building factories over there, have to hire certain amount of workers.

@voineaadi
@voineaadi 10 лет назад
yes, but companies pay "the little people" too. No matter how you look at it, we need companies. Everything you own was once produces by a big company, so they truly help us, both by creating jobs and by creating products. The "little people" are "little" only because they think little. The reality is most rich people out there were once poor, most millionaires and billionaires are self made. If they can get rich, you and I can get rich too. Nobody own the world, truth is we are all free. To various degrees, of course, according to the place where we live and how we think. But hey, we can change how we think first of all, right? And thus a new destiny was born...
@IlSinistero
@IlSinistero 10 лет назад
Adrian Voinea that all would be true if the system would still be fair, but today we have crony capitalism, some of the really rich "buy" politicans to set the rules in their favor, making it harder and harder for others to become rich too, they want no competition, they want all of the cake for themselves and no other people in their little club. if you don't believe it, just look up some studies, the rich getting richer and the middle class is getting smaller and also has less money - and its not getting smaller because such a lot of them becoming rich ;)

A motherboard is something that goes into a computer. The CPU (processor) will go into the motherboard, so will the GPU (graphics processing unit) and Memory/RAM (Random Access Memory). If you're fresh, look at it this way: The CPU is the brain, the GPU is your eyes, the RAM is like, more = the computer can handle more tasks at the same time. The motherboard is your head which keeps everything together, and the computer is like the "body".

i tryed an gigabyte motherboard 6-7 years ago in amd athlon and it was ok. now i tryed again a new one but motherboard that suffers by high temperatures on the main chip of the motherboard.. i replaced my self the heatsinks of the motherboard using some heatsinks that i had and now it works like a charm.. i believe the problem is on the testing part of the products. how they missed that the heatsinks are not what the main chip needs?? high temperatures were the cause of blue screens while working in windows and the heatsink was extremelly hot after 15 minutes of use. there were no one to tell my problem but finally i gave a solution to the problem that designers do not care. cpu and ram temperatures was fine. only the main chip of the motherboard

I have never understood these production lines, where 70% is machine made, yet they need human to place a little sticker. I can understand that the human eye have to check wether an item is functioning or not. Is it just pure kindness having some jobs open? Or is it expensive to run those kind of machines? I'm very curious especially after watching alot of how it's made on Discorey :-) Interesting video by the way.
