I remember doing that second skip with the camera from the turret room, I was streaming on twitch at the time and someone was teaching me some tricks. That person basically started my love for speedrunning portal.
I always propped the door open with the camera on the wall right next to it whenever I did this chamber. Skipped the turret room completely and don't have to bother bringing a small PC with me throughout, although the camera positioning can be a little finicky sometimes.
At 0:56 you can also just walk off the platform to the left and place an orange portal below you on the platform below, saving a few seconds by not having to talk back to the middle room. Still, great skips! I didn't know most of these
Unfortunately if you try and do that about half the time the turrets shoot you out of the sky. In speedruns, runners usually go back like I did, that being said, the route isn't really used anyways xd
It's much easier and more consistent to run back, also leaves you with a portal already outside so you don't have to reopen the door. But you are more than welcome to do it anyway you prefer.
yo for the inbounds clip one i can get it to work up until the last blue portal to teleport me. Instead of bringing me to the final area it just pushes me backwards. Any tips?
Make sure you are glitched inside the portal when you shoot. Unfortunately though its very easy for that to happen. Most runners use older builds of the game to make it more consistent.
