The video shows a complete asphalt resurfacing procedure on the streets of Joinville, Brazil, carried out in June 2016. In the streets of this neighborhood shown on video, it was necessary to remove the old asphalt layer that was already completely degraded to carry out the resurfacing process.
There were several steps followed, but in a simplified way, the step by step for the operation was:
1ST STEP: Scraping and removing the old asphalt layer with a milling machine
2ND STEP: A Bobcat S175 with attached brush removes the larger stones that ended up remaining in the track and that were not removed by the milling machine
3RD STEP: A water truck irrigates the road
4TH STEP: A roller compressor compresses the track to finalize the pre-recap work
5TH STEP: To start the asphalt pavement, a layer of tar is applied on the street by an employee, who uses a hose connected to a truck
6TH STEP: A layer of sand is thrown over the tar and the material is left to rest for a few days for drying
7TH STEP: After the rest days, a paver applies the asphalt layer
8TH STEP: Rollers are used again to compact the asphalt
9TH STEP: The painting and signaling of the road is carried out and the operation is finished.
