Dr. Debra Shapiro is so vibrant and passionate about helping parents enter parenthood, in good health. One always has a choice to not choose health, however others might not even know there are alternative approaches to birthing a child that don't include miscarriage as a symptom of ill health. I don't hear a negative message here. I just hear sound advice and it's up to the individual whether or not to participate in it. Not everyone "hears" messages the same way because of perspectives. Just because one's perspective doesn't gel with that of another to me means move on to someone from whom you can resonate. It's a choice. I find Dr. Shapiro incredibly motivating and inspiring. Others might hear the message differently. No need to throw the message out because it lands well with some and not others. Thank you for a fascinating interview, Chef AJ and Dr. Debra Shapiro.🙏💟🙏💟

She is fantastic. She has helped me so much. If you call her you will not regret it. Talking to her helped me guide my primary care doctor. I can’t say enough about her knowledge base.

Good info! However, eating raw salads in winter is not too balancing.

The benefits of soy are great but I am sensitive to it so I can't get the benefits they offer. But, for those that are allergic to soy, perhaps they can use alfalfa sprouts. They are phytoestrogens that help with hot flashes and that's what I use. I always hear the push for soy, but alfalfa sprouts may be an alternative to those with allergies.

People who were raised with soy tend to do better with it. I cannot digest it very well so steering clear!

Thank you Chef Aj for this interview. We need more. Have you heard of Menopause Taylor? Plant based retired obgyn that does youtube. An interview with her would be great because this topic isn't discussed enough and women are uneducated and and clueless as to how to manage menopausal symptoms.

I think if I had been plant based whole grain through that pregnancy I would have carried full term and had a boy( we saw it after the uterus rejected the boy)

Thank you so much, Rebecca. I'm so sorry that you lost your baby boy. We can never know exactly what caused this tragedy and even when folks do everything right, terrible things can happy. Women are so strong and resilient and I'm quite often amazed at how much they can endure and come back stronger. I hope you have been able to have a healthy baby, or you will soon. 🙏

Shouldn’t any woman on HRT after menopause be getting annual paps and/or pelvic ultrasounds? Important to check that endometrial lining thickness, correct? By the time an older woman starts bleeding- it could be too late for successful cancer treatments.

Good question. Just had mine checked after being in hrt for a year. I'd also love to know how many millimeters the lining should be to make sure it's not too thick.

Vaginal dryness. Look into Supplement DHEA. I go to a functional medical dr. She said it is completely safe and will help you. It works

You’ll need to ask your healthcare provider for the DHEA dosage/prescription. I personally haven’t used or prescribed it.

I had 8 fetuses develop in me when I was obese. But I conceived my last 5 while on a raw food diet to lose weight. They were all surprises because it was hard to get the older two. I have celiac disease. Most celiacs are infertile. I was blessed to be able to accidentally become pregnant due to accidentally be gluten free on the raw food diet as an undiagnosed celiac. I have seven healthy children. Actually my oldest is not. I was obese and eating the SAD diet and did not breastfeed her but my six boys are very healthy. They were all conceived by a chubby mom but on raw food. I lost 25 pounds while pregnant with baby #4 while experimenting with the Mcdougall diet. While I appreciate what this good doctor is saying about being healthy before getting pregnant, I am certainly glad to have my seven kids and the fact that I didnt wait to have my kids until I was my optimal weight because if I had there would be 13 extra people in my life that bless my life everyday including in-law and grandchildren. I'm sorry. Most of the docs you interview inspire me. This one makes me feel sad.😔
