Damn this is insane. This has to be one of the craziest stories I ever heard or seen for your channel bro, probably close to my top 10 craziest and insane stories of all time
He's the best kind, he's a weaver. He navigates you multiple narrative threads while simultaneously showing you a tapisty spaning the space and time of the overall story. Man's a craftsman. An Artisan.
RIP Brittany Mills. The level of tact and respect required to to cover a story like this as a football journalist is something I don't think most people in your space could accomplish. This video is very respectful, insightful and well framed. This is why I sub to you keep up the good work.
Living in Dallas I remember this vividly. Jerry and the nfl did their own investigation and agreed he was innocent and that’s when Jerry signed him. But he never was able to shake the albatross of that incident and his career suffered for it. Tragic story all around
What are you talking about? There was no albatross, once he was cleared of any involvement it wasn’t mentioned again here in Dallas and both the Cowboys and Cincy gave him nice contracts. The negativity he carried was getting suspended over PED testing and the lingering back issues FlemLo mentioned in the vid
@@kabob21 I somewhat agree with you, but the truth is it WAS brought up a lot, and if you don’t think he was mentally stunted by that whole incident, which in turn affected his growth as a player you’re lying to yourself. He never developed into the player his potential indicated which is why he’s no longer a cowboy and may be out of cincy soon. You might not like my comment, but that doesn’t make it less true
Living in Louisiana and an LSU fan we watched this play out in real time and it was sad and disheartening to watch what happened to this young man. As much as I am not a fan of Jerry, I’m happy he gave him a chance.
RIP Mills. Between this and the whole Laremy Tunsil situation in 2016, the mid-2010s NFL Drafts were crazy. Glad Collins still carved out a solid career, and that Tunsil played well enough to get a fat contract of his own.
Flem I have been a fan and sub for 9-10 years I started watching at 13 and I’m 22 now it went from me loving your NCAA series to me loving your sports documentaries as a young adult the fact that every video I can walk away with a life lesson I appreciate your work and I pray god watch over you💯
Brother FlemLo, listening to you narrate a story reminds me of when my grandfather used to read to my late brother and I as kids. You have a very creative gift. Keep doing what you're doing, young brother. Peace and blessings to you and everyone on this channel.
RIP, Brittany Mills. In my 20s, I learned that whoever you allow into your life can change the whole trajectory of your life, good or bad. I will leave it at that.
RIP to Ms. Mills and her son, I pray her daughter is doing well. Mr. Collins seems like a real stand up dude and I am happy things worked out well for the brotha. As usual great work F.R. , I have been a huge fan since the Last Chance U days.
What’s dope about you bro, is we can feel how much you genuinely care and feel for these athletes when they go through tough situations!!! It’s fire and what personally brings me back to your channel!!! You have a gift of making them seem human
FlemLo. I’m a lady who enjoys sport and really love your content. Whatever you do; please don’t go AI. You have a nice voice and you deliver the stories well. You’ve got me through a lot of cleaning and folding clothes days. Keep up the good work. 😊
A 29 year old expecting mother of two gets killed and they suspect the 21 year old first round NFL prospect of doing it? Sounds like bad police work to me. The daughter even said that her mom had a lot of “boyfriends”. I have to imagine they all had more motive to do it than La’el. Word to any up and coming players, stay out of the mix. If you have league dreams, stay away from anyone that doesn’t align with those dreams.
What makes absolutely zero sense to me is that not one team drafted him in the 7th round!!! Many times a 7th rounder doesn't even make the team so you could have drafted a top 15 player in the 7th round and if he went to jail the team wouldn't lose much. I think this shows how many teams don't know what they're doing....!
@@theothesirNobody slandered his name, Gangstalicious. His name got brought up by the 8-yr-old daughter during questioning, Collins volunteered to come in for questioning, police did their jobs investigating and never once named him as a suspect.
RIP. The best thing about Flem is so many players you see and go oh yeah I know that player then watch realizing oh man I had NO CLUE and Flem is such a REAL person. You can see how the story hurts his heart. The BEST dude on RU-vid
Everyone share this man’s videos there is no way in hell this man still does not have over a million subs! Best sports story teller in the game! Not having over 1 million subs is criminal!
You do an awesome job telling people's stories the way they should be, from a human standpoint. A lot of media tells stories from a sensationalism view not with no, "2 sides to every story" thought process. Being around athletes from all sports a good portion of my life rarely are the true facts brought to light because it would show a story as, "Gray" and not black and white so to speak. Knowing personally some of the people you've highlighted it is truly appreciated.
Brother Flemlo, you never cease to amaze me with your in depth reporting. You've done some great stories before, but this one had me on the edge of my seat. Well told. If this was on mainstream, this is probably Emmy material. If there are any social media awards, you should get one. Or two.Peace
This is how good Flemlo is: He wasn't showing up on my "recommended" list, and I wondered... what's he up to? Didn't care what it was, I wanted to know Flemlo's latest. You never disappoint. Fantastic story.
Always enjoy your content and expressing the bigger picture than a ball. It's easy to forget about the humanity involved when one is concerned about fantasy points and merchandise. Thanks.
It was disgusting the NFL didn't grant him an exemption and let him declare for the supplemental draft. Even at the time it was best for him and the NFL.
I feel terrible for these dudes that have falsely accused or the media portraying them as guilty. I’ve seen first hand what a false allegation can do to a person. Congrats to him and everyone that’s survived a situation like this.
This is an insane story. I’m glad his career has worked out because this is a really unfortunate situation for him. I also feel awful for the victims family that law enforcement hasn’t ever been able to find out who actually did this.
@@yoeltedros8654 saying that "Low-key did him a favor" would imply that it was a blessing in disguise. Dude didn't get the money, or the rings. Definitely a blessing to play in the league, but that's not what we're talking about. Relative to lottery pick money, this is coming up short.
Great and crazy story, but where's the closure? It's great, it's good. He is still playing and getting his, but what about her and her family? And the baby's family, his dad, the biological one. We need an update on this, please. Keep up the great work, Flemloo
Crazy off subject, and I know he's not finished yet, but id love to see what you think about the Zack Wilson saga that is unfolding? Do you think he ends up in the ufl even? Awesome content bro 😎 been a huge fan for years now
My condolences goes out to the family and friends of the victim. I remember this story and it is extremely unfortunate that Apple wouldn't help law enforcement officials with this request years ago.
I read the indictment after the news came initially. He was charged with murder along 8-9 other people. The more you read the less and less the case makes sense. I hope he can get some good press and make a return to pro football.
Rest In Peace 🕊 I have a younger sister just a few years older than this woman . She is popular and well liked . Somebody hurting a pregnant woman who knew her is the worse 😢
It does suck that solving some crimes take a long time ,and I'm go unsolved entirely, but I for one am not ready nor will I ever be ready to trade my rights, or my privacy for security. Security, that is an illusion, anyways.
Aye Flem talk about that Sacramento Kings g league player who caught a body with his gf! You the only person I trust to give this story the care it deserves!
Being from Nola and lsu being my Alma matter I remember this and how sad it all was and Jerry jones paid him over a million or whatever it was like being a first round pick
Reminds me of Shawn Oakman, although at least Collins got his shot in the league (albeit undrafted after his agent did his job and made sure he was undrafted)
Amazing that a young 21-yo future NFL player would mess w/a 29-yo woman who only dated deadbeat dads before that. Why not date a good college girl? La'el is so much better than any "man" she dated prior.
Yea they messed over my lil potna I did time with his dad ‘Big Dave’ in ‘Allen Correctional’ and ‘Hunts’ I watched him grow up🤦🏽♂️ I hate that happened to him
This is in no way or diss or meant to be disrespectful to Collins or Mills, but fellas we really have to be mindful of the company we keep. There is no way Collins, a 1st rd draft prospect should have been fucking with a 29 year old woman and that had multiple boyfriends to the point where she didnt know who the baby father was. She was letting all kinds of dudes hit raw including Collins. And judging from the story, most of those dudes weren't great ppl as one of them pulled up on her and asked her to borrow her car and eventually murdered her. I say this as someone that almost got caught up in some shit with a loose woman, leave these kind of women alone. Especially if you have alot to lose and a bright future ahead of you. RIP her though...
@@logicalmalethink4925 trying to have a little respect for the dead lol. But yea that chick was a jump off. No reason he should be messing with a 304 who keeps dangerous company. He probably knows the dude that actually killed her, just not exactly who did it...
