In this video I show you what a typical practice session looks like for me this off-season! I think having structure makes it easier to be intent and focused on every shot. You can also adjust everything. Make the circle larger or smaller, or have multiple circles for the different distance throws.
Here's the link to the spreadsheet! docs.google.co...
One thing I forgot to mention is that ideally you adjust the circle, distance, etc to where you typically are successful at least 50% of the time. We don't want to practice missing shots if that makes sense. (Partly why I don't putt past 55') I think for the mental side of the game we want to practice being successful. We also don't want it to be too easy tho, it should still be a challenge to get all or most of them in. Just a thought.

🤘🙌. At first I had two circles, one at 20' and one at 30'. 20 for the shorter throws and 30 for the longer ones. I just wanted circles at distances that were a good level of difficulty. I ended up adjusting it to one 24' circle to save set up time lol, it is still large enough to where I should get over half of my long throws in and then most of my short ones in. But yes I should make a 24' almost 100% of the time too, just hadn't thought of it like that

I'm not Ezra, but the key is to be honest with yourself about your weak points, and work to improve them. My disc golf distance sucks, but it's forced my upshots and putts to improve even faster than my distance. If I get my distance up, I'll then move on to my new weakest area, etc. Disc selection is important too, and worth practicing!

I do a similar routine. Start at 100ft with 4 or so backhand and forehand approaches. Putt 4 times from the farthest away. If I make all 4 I backup 10steps(30ft). I have to make 3 of 4 to start the next round or I keep putting. This way I feel pressure. I've been doing this a while and have since implemented different release angles. I still struggle from 200ft

Looks like your putting stroke is more of a straight into chains follow through now. Before it seemed like you extended to the left. I tell myself "put your hand in the basket" when putting. I'm not sure about practice putting. I prefer to just throw few putts per hole in practice rounds. If you just putt for 20 plus minutes you tend to zone out and start missing putts, and like you said practicing to miss is just wasting time.

Whenever I try to putt too many times in a row I can feel my arm getting tired from the reps and then my form goes downhill fast. Does this happen to you, Ezra? I'm guessing not because those arms probably take a lot more reps to feel tired lol

Haha that definitely happens to me too. With this practice style I never really putt a ton in a row tho so I haven't had this issue this off-season

Ezra, this was great to watch and really makes me want to dedicate more time to practice instead of always playing rounds! I really like the method you have for going through and tracking different shots. If you are open to it, I think it would be awesome for you to put a template file of the spreadsheet you use onto Google Drive and share a public link so others can practice just like this and improve their game!

On a scale of 1 to never, how likely are you to share that spreadsheet with me as a template?

Wonderful. Been hoping someone would put out a vid like this for a long time. I'm a select baseball coach so I'm all about having a good routine and a clear practice plan with data and goals. Is there any way you could share that spread sheet so I can steal it and use it? Haha thanks Ezra! You should spend some time up in Washington State this off-season if you get a chance!

Hey man awesome video but I came here to see all the throws 😄 I don't think the speeding up is necessary, people can manually speed up if they want to skip. Just giving my opinion but solid work thanks for the content 🤙🏽
