Wonderful work. You are one of the best i would say. Would love to see how you construct your domed lattice guitars mold that you featured some videos back. Thank you.

Hello David. I own a guitar you made in 2000 that has a Gilbert pin bridge. Its construction is a bit of a mystery to me. Is there any way I can learn more, including how to make action adjustments? My local guitar shop won’t touch it.

I have a special tool John Gilbert showed me how to make for removing the pins. The standard action while fretting at first fret and measured at 12this 1st=0.110",2nd=0.115", 3rd=0.125-0.130",4th-0.130",5th=0.135",6th=0.140-0.145". When pulling the pins out do not apply any sideways motion that could make the hole out of round. Needs to be straight up. 0.093"/3/32" stainless steel pins.

Are you sourcing quarter sawn beech, or does it matter with these linings? Where do you source this? Thanks

I buy slab, but cut so it is quartered.

Do you leave extra wood to account for the back/sides taper or is it flexible enough to bend to fit these?

I don't quite understand your question.

@@schrammguitars Sorry for my lack of clarity there! I was wondering how you factor for the side depth changing from neck heel to lower bout and the back arch, do you leave extra wood.

I use a 20' radius dish with sand paper to contour the back linings and sides. The back plate is set in a radius dish when the braces are glued in. So no bending what so ever. @@michaeljking
