There’s also a list of rescued “animals” that contains “weasel thief” (Chouji) - poor kid omg, “general crab” (Koharu) - a girl in Fururta’s training to become a housekeeper in Kamisato mansion and “unagi” Dvorak. Only then I understood why there was an unagi on the poster for this event.
It fits his personality though, with an Intelligence Network which operates in secrecy and more, it makes sense. Not to mention the implications it would have on his Reputation and the Consequences Ayaka and the Rest of the Commission would have to deal with Nice JJK Reference tho 👀👍
@@dschatt_ But how? Everything that is shown is something that is intended to be known, in other Words for the People to find out. While it sounds lazy, I'm quite a Fan of this since Ayato is literally the Otto Apocalypse of Genshin(I don't have the entire Thing figured out myself because it requires HI3 Lore which I'm not willing to lose myself in). Who has done more offscreen shit than Ayato, besides that the real Effort is from everyone working together, while keeping it hidden, despite the multiple Points it had to be blown up
I will always maintain that the Inazuma Arc was a good story that only suffered from poor execution and a need to be told in just 3 acts (Something they thankfully corrected in the following arcs). If you add about 2 more acts to the story, almost all the problems are resolved naturally.
yes, the Inazuma's arc actualy have an interesting plot, but yes, unfortunately they executed it not well enough. and i'm glad they improve in Sumeru and Fontaine Arc, now i'm a bit worried because Natlan have a plot about the war too
I agree. I always am a believer that if a part of Shogun and Kokomi's Story Quest be made into Inazuma's main Archon Quest story, it actually can be pretty good or decent to wrap things up as it is. The ideal one is to expand and elaborate of course, but eh, it was a hard time back then, and they have vastly improved nowadays. Let's hope things will keep going upwards.
fr I been saying this too... they could've execute it better if they didn't cram it all up in 3 acts. They can benefit from involving Itto and Ayato as well... oh and more build up for Kazuha's sudden power up at the end.
The song itself has meanings too, it’s Dvorak commemorating the people who died in the Inazuma war. The receipt implies each animal are different types of evacuees: weasel thief - kids, general crab - soldiers, unagi - foreigners, Baki-Danuki - elderly.
Actually this was revealed much earlier. I mean the collaboration between Yashiro Commission and Sangonimiya troops. Let me highlight a few key points. 1- Ayato installed Shumatsuban to monitor the activities in Tenshukaku -> His demo video 2- Thoma, was actively working with ITA and had close relations with Beidou. -> Beginning of the inazuma archon quest 3- During the vision hunt decree, we know that it was kamisato clan that helped Kazuha escape using Crux Fleet meaning there was already some contact between crux and the yashiro commission -> various sources 3- During the clash between Sara and Gorou's troupe its Beidou and her group that arrives as mercenaries. The question is How did beidou even got hired by watatsumi island for it? Simple, it was Yashiro commission who hired her group. As they had contacts with the crux already. 4- After the traveler tries to escape tenshukaku, there is suddenly an uproar and turns out, resistance army lead by Gorou and Kazuha has made way to Tenshukaku. How is it possible? Sara was defeated by Sara, not the entire army. They wont decrease their forces at the borders during such a critical time. Unless, someone from within allowed the troops to sneak in. Yep, look at point 1. Shumatsuban or rather Ayato was actually responsible for leading the troops to tenshukaku..their timing there was not a coincidence. yae Miko who knew traveller is following Sara to meet raiden AND his spies in tenshukaku had already reported, the presence of Signora in there. Anticipating that a battle would ensure, Ayato sent the resistance troops in as reinforcement to save the traveler. 5- Resistance army would not have trusted Yashiro commissions invitation to invade tenshukaku, unless they already had mutual test, otherwise who would agree to rush straight into enemies den. 6- Raiden's voiceline about Ayato, also talks about his "transgression" which is also likely referring to his act of planting spies in her castle and leading resistance to her doorstep. But she chose to forgive him because she realized that Ayato was loyal not just to her, but also to the people of Inazuma, and that what he did was to protect inazumans.
Yeah, I'm not trying to sound preachy or anything, and maybe I've missed the point entirely since its been a while since ive played the inazuma archon quest, but wasn't the Inazuma story literally about the Yashiro commission (Komore Teahouse + Thoma) helping the resistance via the Traveller, Beidou etc.? The whole pet thing was a great cover for the operation and I myself didn't get what it was about until later in the event, but then I found it weird that it's supposed to be a big plot twist that they worked together during the war? Again, maybe I've missed the point but I thought that much was obvious?
@@jikra kind of yes. But what we "see and know" as traveller, is that Ayaka was trying to save as many people as possible..and that's it. we do not see any other resistance - yashiro commission link what so ever. Infact thoma ends up saying Yashiro commission isn't legally on good terms with resistance(i mean legally they arent, but under the table they are lol). So for us the connection ends there. After that, its just pure speculation and hints thrown around. Until Ayato's release that is, his trailer shows him planting spies in tenshukaku, and rejecting Fatui's offer to join their cause in Inazuma. And raiden's voiceline about his "actions". And then his involvement in kazuha's escape too. Then it kind of starts coming together. And it makes sense too, as he most likely kept Ayaka in the dark in a lot of these matters. thoma definitely knew whats going on, he was Ayato's hands on the field, doing all the things for him. But if word got out, both ayato and Thoma would have been punished by Raiden(if it got twisted and raiden was in a bad mood..you get it) so he must have kept ayaka out of this all, so that he can take the blame on himself during the worst case scenario.
@@apoorvjoshi2383 I see! Thanks for the refresher on the Inazuma Archon quest, as mentioned it's been a while since I've played it, it's really fascinating how they spun all that together without really confirming it. I guess I just assumed and was right with the assumption, but it's nice to have confirmation through the event (and Ayatos trailer) either way!
@@jikra yes, there were a lot of hints thrown along the way. Like Kamisato's connection to kazuha then kazuha happens to be on beidou's ship who just happens to be on very good terms with Thoma and How beidou's crew was the one who came to save the resistance fighters..even though so far we have no idea if the Crux has connections with resistance or not. Not to mention, Gorou was genuinely surprised to see Kazuha, implying that watatsumi did not take the initiative to hire Beidou. It was someone else..
players: hoyo did dirty with inazuma archon quest. fix it! hoyo: okay then, **drops random music event as a puzzle piece for missing plot in inazuma archon quest** great move hoyo, but i do think this shouldnt be on a time-limited event tho, some ppl would miss it
@@previouskidThose events are based on locations and minigames hence why thry can stay, genshin’s dialogue and extra maps are too big to put into one game especially after natlan. The only option would be to allow players to download the events separately and delete them once theyre done.
Not only that. They try to tie it up in subtle hint that most people will gloss over it. The fact that very few talk about it and focus on Itto and Paimon shows it
not to mention, the cutscene where gorou and kazuha pull up to raidens residence. ayato's trailer indicated that he had something to do w that as well, all for the sake of his sister
It was small favor for her sister so more likely she probably the one who initiated the plan to help the civilians Hope we get to see anime version of it
@@sentience3033it depends tbh, from what we've seen in the Inazuman AQ Ayaka is really hesitant to make any big moves against the other commissions Hence why she had to convince the traveler to help; not sure if she would actively initiate something that would be paramount to going against the other 2 commissions
@@mikii278 it was 1 vs 2 for Kamisato clan . It’s a disadvantage for them to begin it . Ayaka & Ayato vs Kanjou & Tenryuu If their actions got noticed then They will exposed Kamisato clan to shogun & labelled them as Traitors . That’s why they initiated the Puppy plan with Resistance. Besides we know that Officials of Kanjou commission afraid of her . Even in her SQ , She has literally trolling them . Convincing Traveler was a plan for Puppy Plan . Traveler was a pawn that must be secured by Kamisato clan . Hope we get to know more about it in Anime if they implemented it that is .
@@sentience3033 yeah, I agree with your points but the reason why I replied to your comment was because I didn't exactly agree with Ayaka being the one to "initiate" the puppy union She probably had a hand with it yes, probably stated that she wants to help the people but planning or strategizing for an operation that would be equivalent to treason would probably not something she would be capable of So I don't think she would be the one to initiate the operation
@@mikii278 it’s a collab of Resistance & Kamisato clan . So she is not the only one But why you are calling it a treason tho? It was made to stop the other commissions . It’s not destroying the country but helping it . In case of whether she is capable or anything Remember that Yoimiya is waiting for Ayaka for new plan which says that she is doing this for years So she is capable (although in paper ). We need to see her in action . But Judging how she stir up Traveler’s path It’s not a far fetched to have a thought that She is capable enough to manipulate behind the scenes
Huh. Can't believe I literally thought the rescued "pets" were literal animals that the Shogunate and Sangonomiya rescued, but as a codeword for the people in the crossfires of their battle.
I originally thought it was supposed to be referencing a prior event that we had that actually did have a ninken protecting animals and thought it was clever Hoyo was connecting the two.
The whole thing makes sense. Thoma suddenly being chosen for vision ceremony made the entire fandom suspicious. As to the fact that we thought it could be possible Thoma was chosen, given that he was close to the Traveller. To rope the Traveller into the play of schemes to get us deeply involved in the war. But it turns out it was for political reasons. I knew I had a feeling that something felt left out on Inazuma's archon quest. Turns out the best story wasnt told in the archon quests and was left as "behind the scenes" stuff.
Ironically, the two commissions tried to keep the Traveler away from the war as we saw with old Kanjo until his daughter wrecked it with a loop hole she created. Roping the Traveler into the war as far as they know from what Signora told them is chaotic and would ultimately backfire and when the Traveler went to save Thoma, it was made clear Signora was right and them getting involved made them the wrench that wrecked their plans.
man, these kind of details could've been explained in Inazuma's main quests back then and make it a lot more interesting. this explanation does makes a lot of sense now. thanks for providing these infos, Cat
I mean these details were meant to be secrets that remained between the Yashiro Commission and Watatsumi never to be unveiled to anyone not even the Traveler.
Lol yeah, Yashiro cooperation with Sangonomiya is far deeper than what most player knew, from smuggling rebels to Tenshukaku to forming groups to save people and animal during the war, they really play on a thin line there, the entirety of Kamisato clan would be wiped out if the extent of their cooperation being found This is something that already being opened since Ayato Characters being released, recent event just make it more clear The most interesting part however, is the last chat between miko and ei, it looks like Ei expect some kind of confrontation in the future.
I think what Ei implied will be something real huge. We have an upcoming event where the armed forces of nearly all nations will work together to enhance securities across teyvat. If I remember correctly, back in fish blasting the invasive species event, it was said that the KoF is developing a detection tool to locate enemies from afar. One of the knights also planned to create timed detonators. Something is definitely brewing.
although he wasnt there and we all collectively agree how messy inazuma plot line, ayato seems to always somehow to fix plot holes through out the quest, from smuggling rebels, having his own secret org with shimatsuban, stealing confidential documents and now having confirmation a secret alliance with the enemies side, like ayato really influence through out the rebellion is really fascinating even though as a character WE BARELY SEE HIM AT ALL. like he really is a mastermind that works behind the scenes. (to the point that even miko the cunning fox is weary of him) sidenote: im just saying if something were to happend to ayaka all hell would break lose.
Ayato is really 'the behind the scene man'. Makes you question if he had other business than cultural exchange during the Fontaine film festival and the Liyue food event.
Yeah, he has contributed so much to Inazuma's AQ; you just gotta dig a bit to know about it Ayato definitely is one of the most interesting characters in game; there's always some layer to his moves and plots And now we also have him moving around Fontaine and Liyue
@@m.daphneejsing2489 @mikii278 i know right. i actually applaud to how well written he is for a character that barely appears on screen, like if he's actually secretly gathering like ultimate alliance in each nation and he also somehow know the upcoming war.i wont even be suprise by it, honestly the signs are there. like ayato is single handily preparing inazuma at this point.
Ayato have the same JP VA as Otto apocalypse from HI3rd i kind of expect him to be a behind the scenes schemer... at least hes a good guy Otto wich is nice.
Yeah if only they did this earlier... 2 years maybe Like what hsr did on xianzhou act, they try to compensate poor story execution with heavily lore event.
This is actually the best event because it all make sense when looking back at what happened in Inazuma Archon quest. I'm also quite surprised that even Miko didn't know but even if she knows, she probably pretended that she doesn't know about the Puppy Union.
Of course she knows, she worked with Yashiro Comission all the time. How do yout think knew she will find Traveler in the Delusion Factory? It was due to Shuumatsuban information.
This just reminded me of how Beidou said that her crew was an "expert" at getting people in and out of Inazuma. I thought they'd meant about Kazuha, or maybe others who wanted to flee back home from the Vision Hunt Decree....I wonder.
Inazuma is a good example of both Hoyos strenghts and weaknesses in terms of story. They are good at planning complex and intriguing narratives, but delivering the scenario to the player through quests gets often hampered by either rushed pace or walls of text.
This event has so many layers. I knew about the rescuing animals is the codeword but didn't tried to connect all the loose end in Inazuma AQ. Even the song Itto and Paimon sang isn't just a funny song with no meaning, but a callout to the war Raiden caused like Yae said.
Classic Inazuma arc, scattered everywhere and starting to feel whole after nearly 3 years of release Anyway thank you for the analysis^^ --- My further "rant", aside from that archon quest I think Inazuma AQ-related lore dump happened the most in: 2.5, Ei's story qauest 2.6, Irodori event (later clearer in interlude) 2.8, Kazuha's domain Sumeru Interlude This event They really like to put important info in limited events... Especially Inazuma
There's an obvious sign that this isn't just rescuing animals. If you look at Heizou's "gift", there's a list of animals they along with the names. One of those "animal" is Dvojak.
What an amazing story! That's exactly why I roll my eyes at all the people who scream about wanting a skip button for the story and then complain about how boring side events are. When I first read the list of animals rescued I didn't think anything of it until I was reading some other article, had the random thought that there was a wild inconsistency in the age of the animals, and thought maybe they weren't actually animals. So I checked the list again and realized they were people and then saw the name at the bottom and EVERYTHING clicked.
A skip button would still be helpful for those who just want the gameplay. It's not exactly hard to *not* press a skip button. But you are right--those who complain about side events being boring while also clamoring for a skip button are either a) not paying enough attention or b) completely uncaring for the plot anyway.
I want to play the event that takes me 5 minutes to complete, but I have to sit and get through 30 minutes of unskippeable visual-novel dialogues just for that
please be for real this is not the hill to die on. skipping dialogue is basic quality criteria in most games because not everyone is here for the story. and people who are here for this story might want to spend less time with another one. like please. this is not the conclusion one should be seeing over this man
So basically this event just like a complete story of behind the scene during the war happened and I must say ayato is so freaking genius how he calmly take action even it is risk job
I'm convinced that Ayato's recent trip to Fontaine (another limited time event) was much more important than the player was led to believe. On the surface it seemed he was just conducting routine business behind the scenes while everyone else was doing their thing, but nothing is EVER routine with Ayato. Plans within plans.
@@Lennis01 Thats what I like abt him.Hes very professional doing work while not interrupting other but clean like water flow Now I wonder who is the best making plan and strategy between ayato and alhaitam.I love to see if they meet🤣
This is why it's so much fun to dissect his actions, he's never been a what you see is what you get kind of guy The whole puppy union initiative is genius
Finally an explanation video of the event. I know they reveal some huge lore stuff in the event, but it's too confusing to me to understand and connect the dots. This video really helps clear things up!
I still remembered that in summer event, Ayato was the one behind the scene who helped Kazuha escape Inazuma with Beidou. Gorou also seem to be close friend with Kazuha when he came back to help fight Sara.
Omg it's amazing how well you connected everything together. Ayato is a genius I wish Hyv showed us this without hiding these info in music events like this...
7:14 so both thoma and beidou aren't much acquainted before the inazuma archon quest. I'm inhaling copium here but, looking at how we are the only ship that reached ritou and how she gets business with yashiro commission, and add the fact that she fought with the resistance (tho I'd digress it'd be because of kazuha from his teaser),I'm thinking ayato involved beidou into his plan all along. And maybe, just maybe, shes the one who's actually smuggling just like how she smuggled kazuha .
Since I don’t see this mentioned very much in the comments, I just wanted to add another layer to this… I’m so happy that they gave such a deep lore connection to a character like Dvorak, as I’ve always appreciated Marco Meatball’s deep dives into video game music theory in general and the Genshin soundtracks in particular. He truly loves the world and story being created here, so I’m glad Hoyo decided to take the character they made for him and integrate him much more deeply into the world. His NPC captured the attention of both Yae Miko and Raiden Ei~! 😎
sayu was also there sleeping?.. maybe she was there to monitor for ayato... we can't talk with her directly and gave us a dialog as if it's just nothing
This is what I love about this channel, always makinh detailed and understandable explanations for even the most trivial of all things deep, helping any interested player understand the plot.
whenever there's dogs and politics related, i always remember the Metal Gear Solid franchise. when you think about it, if the ITA has connections to Sangonimiya, and Komore teahouse has connections to Yashiro commission, then those are just proxy companies that they can all safely detach to when they got caught.
As a person who doesn’t quickly catch onto things, I am extremely thankful for this video. I wouldn’t have guessed they saved real people and not animals.
Inazuma's story is so complex and separate Seirai and Tsurumi are two islands shrouded in mystery with their own world quests and the story of Tatarasuna was only revealed in Sumeru and only now can we learn about Ayato and Kokomi's deeds before we arrive in Inazuma
Amazing analysis! I didn’t even think too deep about the lore behind the event but now I see. And also can we give Ayato a round of applause here? I mean he literally ran this operation without being caught, yet he didn’t take any credit for it. He doesn’t even appear in this event or the archon quests. He does everything behind the scenes. Even during the Fontaine event, Chiori hints at Ayato having another purpose of coming to Fontaine other than just cultural exchange yet the game never directly reveals it to us. I wouldn’t even be surprised if the game reveals that Ayato’s some super important character to the plot later on.
Ah, no wonder. I was confused when Thoma recommended us to go to the resistance after his escape. Like isn’t that just announcing that we’re sided with rebels? Now I know why. How surprising. Thank you for the video. Hope for your speedy recovery.
ayo why did this make me cry lmao it's just so satisfying to finally understand, and also knowing that seemingly less important characters actually had such a big role behind the scenes. thank you forthis
I wonder if this is the ‘misdeed’ Raiden mentioned in her voicelines about Ayato, his misdeed specifically, not his clan’s past mistake. Maybe she somewhat know about how the scheme going, and in her stance as the Shogun, Ayato supported the Resistance can be seen as an act of treason. All is well in the end, so she forgave him.
Great analysis! I did thought that this was a very bland event but the voice lines kept bothering me because I had the feeling that there was more to it. Now it all makes sense! ❤
this is amazing, crazy to think one single event made a lot of inazuma's lore clearer crazy to think inazuma preobbaly has a lot more lore we do'nt know about hopefully they give it justice with another arc now that they've improved their story telling a lot
Even during the 2.0 archon quest, i was thinking that the Yashiro commission has to be helping Watatsumi in secret. Aside from the obvious facts that the traveler got in touch with Watatsumi really fast through Ayaka and the rebels got into tenshukaku with no sweat, the Resistance barely stood a chance with the Shogunate. They were already struggling just from Kujou Sara making the moves, but they still stood and I think Ayato was that secret support. Kokomi was just fkin dumb, thinking the fatui were doing charity😂 if she was actually making big brain strategic moves, the war could've lasted longer with actual win on their part but nahh. It was genuinely bad writing for Kokomi, they shouldnt have made her out to be a cute girl with military tactics genius brain but continues to showcase her team gettings Ls😂😂 Also, as shown from the evidence left to us by Heizou on the event, the Puppy Union saved Chouji! Oh that poor kid, I was actually waiting for some follow up on his story in Sumeru, thinking maybe we'll see her mom but sadly, there's nothing.
Damn, I really need to have a more critical view of things. I thought it was pretty obvious from the start in the Archon quest that the Resistance and the Yashiro commision were working together, so I just automatically put to the side all the comments made by Thoma & Ayaka about them not being able to help. Yet still, I saw the list of the animals and their ages, and I even remember Dvorak's name being there, and I was just like ??? The ages didn't make sense to me, and I didn't make the connection at all. I just thought that Dvorak had helped a random unagi 😂 I guess I'm just too literal at times. I do remember thinking of Taroumaru somewhere throughout the quest, though. I love genshin lore and the archon quest in Inazuma could've given us so much more, so getting this is a treat. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for this video! I was very confused and unsure of the implications and hidden meanings behind this event. This really cleared up my understanding! Inazuma really needed this behind-the-scenes lore and helped me really appreciate the actions of the Yashiro comission and Sanganomia.
Hmm since it's Yoimiya who first threw shade towards Thoma about the "puppies", then i guess this means she knows the full story, too. (She's the one who has to transport people in and out of the City, after all.)
I did notice the detail that the organizer was one of the fontanians shipped out of the closed nation, which to me implied all of the people on the list were those who escaped.
Honestly I personally like when events have lore to them, or connect to main story. It is a bummer when people miss out on them yes, but it feels more overall connect. The same world in a way. Additional. Interestingly enough during the Ritou Escape part of the Archon quest theres a hint of the Watasumi Resistance and Yashiro Commission working together. One of the npcs, forgot exactly who sorry, has dialog talking about a shipment being sent to Yashiori Island. Where the Resistance is stationed. And its from the Yashiro Commission. The event just made the more hidden details of the Inazuma Archon quest more noticeable. Very cool I think
This is why I still have Inazuma in a special place in my heart. They really did so well for that region. I’m not saying I have problems with Sumeru or Fontaine, it’s just that everything felt so great during the time Inazuma came out, and when I took the time playing through each and every one of what it had to offer as it kept being updated. And even now, with this event, so many things have been uncovered about something a lot of us finished so long ago. It’s great how they understand how Inazuma is still an amazing part of the game.
Girllll thank you so much for your work I am very stupid but I still realized something was fishy about this event your video was very organized and easy to understand again thank you so so much!!! :]
Jesus christ dude, the level of detail and attention, i confess i never really pay much attention to other characters in the background of cutscenes, but those details really seem to be there for a reason! Awesome work dude!
Having those lore drops now really ties in all of the Inazuma story arc and actually makes it a lot better than what it was during it's release. Just a bit sad that it felt rather flat back then because all this hidden information never got revealed until now
Man, this is sooo much deeper than I expected. While I realised the connection between Sangonomiya and Yashiro commission, the whole “naming refugees as pets and helping to rescue them” thing completely slipped out of my grasp. Usually my perception is more accurate, but still not as deep as of lore-hunters. So glad I stumbled upon your video, otherwise it’d be just a music festival event with some weird plot line about pets :D
I loved it!!! I saw all the little clues and details and gushed. As a Heizou main, it made me giddy, and seeing more lore tied to Watatsumi and the war, yes! There was even the little unagi beside Dvor in the main screen.
thanks for this. I didn't get some of those cut scenes when I played it. I had feeling about the Inazuma story that this glues together nicely. again thank you so much.
I finally got inazuma open just in time for me to decorate the stage. Tickled pink that characters I haven’t met knows the traveler and vice versa. Oh yeah, almost forgot. The event was right in the middle of the war I haven’t reached yet.
You connected all the dots amazingly! I wish this had been revealed in the Archon quest instead of a limited event since it seems crucial to Inazuma lore. Thanks for the video!
Ei be like, what the dog doin'? so way back on Thoma's apparent execution (figuratively) shogunate knows. Ayato, kokomi certainly had the Dawg in them. . Yae Miko certainly knows the whole thing.
While the story says the song is about the war, it actually feels like the song is referring to something bigger than Inazuma's war due to the 'turning the world upside down' bit, which we know is extremely important in Teyvat's lore. Likewise, its weird for the song to be using the pets in the same way that the note said, as there aren't corresponding actors for the song to line up with, but if we assume its referring to the past archon war, everyone but the unknown raven line up with archons who died. (Us not yet knowing about two of the archons with the Raven likely lining up with them.) E.g., the old man becoming the shadow doesn't make sense, but if we assume the bake-danuki is the electro archon, it makes sense for it to become the shadow as Ei was Makoto's shadow.
OMG. The story in this event was A LOT deeper than I realized. I actually tought that Taroumaru was running around saving real animals during the war 😅 I noticed at the end that Kokomi was saying something misterious but it completely went over my head. Now it makes sense.
Darn you Genshin, even though you're not very generous to us, the level in creating these kind of story threads into a powerful node is something that never stop to amaze me. You cook really well Mihoyo
