Drilling off the coast would kill costal tourism, which is a massive part of the South Carolina economy. It would taint the sea food in the area, killing two more industries. More jobs would be lost than gained, and the government and oil companies know it. But do they care? No. The only thing that stopped that project was the pandemic and the economic slow down that came with it.
