You never know how much time you really have until you start to use it. Are you as efficient and productive as you can be? High school junior Yana Savitsky shares how the Pomodoro method changed the way she thinks and acts towards her work, allowing her to make the most of her time and achieve her goals. Yana Savitsky is a sophomore at Lake Forest High School. Taking rigorous academic courses at the AP and honors level, she is constantly flooded with strenuous assignments. Outside of academics, however, Yana has a passion for storytelling and helping others, whether it is visually, through the lens of a camera in New Media, or speaking out for social change and volunteering. Nonetheless, Yana seeks to efficiently and effectively complete her coursework, and even excel in it through maximizing her time with the Pomodoro Method, conveniently the topic of her TED talk. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

This method makes you read haphazardly. When you try to reach a particular time when reading, you tend to move fast and forward - neglecting mistakes you've made while reading and not going back to re-read in order to clarify somethings or neglecting the principle of repetition of key points so they can stick into your head.

The general idea is to work and take breaks in way that creates a routine. Because it's only with routine and consistent work/focus that you can achieve something and be productive. Everyone knows that, but the problem is someone thinks they can get away with minimal work=more leisure time. I've been both the straight A-student and the C-student. When I was the A-student I had a plan and a routine. When C-student I just procastinated and crammed last minute. Now I am a B-student, which means I have an optimal level of routine.

My main difficulty is dealing with the fact that my work still feels never-ending, and that makes me lose motivation altogether no matter what the clock says. I think I will try dividing things into pomadoros to help me estimate how much time I expect to work on something. The idea of checking those off might become helpful. Thanks.

With my coursework, it has been a case of 30-45 minutes, then 15 minutes of tea/coffee, dog walking, toilet, stretches, lunch, dinner. The same works for piano.
@DanielMendoza-su3ei
@DanielMendoza-su3ei 2 года назад
Hey, What do you mean “the same works for piano?” Do you mean using this method as in studying for 25 minutes, and then take a 5 min break by playing the piano?? Or did you meant learning piano by playing the piano 25 min. then take a 5 min break, and so on.

Winner of a video, I've been looking for "setting goals for adults" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Seyrayson Startling Scheme - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is a smashing one of a kind guide for discovering how to achieve your ultimate life goals minus the hard work. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my cousin got excellent success with it.

If u want that strategy to achieve your goal Love it like no one does It's your choice how much longer u wanna study But you've to There are no techniques that will help you if u don't study for your goal Study longer ....study till late night..... Because this is love of study Study with your brain Not with your heart If u are the lover of study I bet No one can stop u from achieving what you want One technique for 2000000000 person cannot work because We all are different Do it or leave it
