I was thinking of the inner states mostly surviving, having those individual rights is a big deal during the beginning of an apocalypse. I also liked the ending when the ai said that the US would become stronger because of this outbreak that was very cool.

I disagree, I really think the military could easily handle reanimated flesh, especially considering they would likely be incredibly weak due to dissolved muscle tissue. In all likelihood they probably couldn’t even get out of the coffin. If it was something more like the last of us, that would be a larger problem, but modifications to existing medicine would likely take place before any significant collapse of structure. Even if the zombies did somehow take over, the likelihood is they would all die out or be bombed into oblivion by any functioning areas. Unless, of course, it’s an airborne virus, in which case the world has about a week.
