I was a huge fan of Aaliyah and dressed like her when I was in high school, even had my then long hair styled like her. I took her untimely death so hard when I watched MTV at work and broke the news of her death, I cried on my way home from work. Six years after her death I was pregnant with my first child with my husband and hoping it'll be a girl so I can name her Aaliyah and my wish came true and now my Aaliyah is 13 years old.

Aaliyah was so badass in queen of the damned. A black girl with rock n roll music in a gothic movie is something you won't see anymore.

This is my first time seeing this video, and it’s amazing. We definitely do not dress exactly the same, however I can see how family members brain structure is very similar. It’s nature vs nurture. We may think similar, however environmental factors make us slightly different. I would go in the store and buy similar items. This is sad, because I was looking for family members that actually understood me instead of telling me to wear more revealing stuff. I even choose similar hairstyles. I also want to watch that show. It’s like she’s leading me to stuff that she knows I would love. I can see why she waited until I was appropriately aged to expose this. DC was tainting the universe.
