Depictions of queer and trans people by AI image generators like Midjourney are facing scrutiny, after evidence emerged that the recently published Cass Review used AI images of trans youth in its final report on trans healthcare in the U.K.
AI images are increasingly making their way into mainstream media and scientific reports. But these images can reproduce and reinforce stereotypes, while also erasing entire identities.
