AO soul was more comfortable for me to try than a regular soul on my first day back and it’s because like you said at 3:55 you’re most likely just gonna sit down if you fall. Another great tutorial man! It would be cool if you could correlate these tutorials with the backtoblading community challenges. That way people could watch them and you could see the results of your tutorials at the end.

I used to do this trick a lot when I was a Teenager.Now that I am 35 not being able to do this trick because of Two reasons: 1st reason, my soul plate locks barely grinding 3 feet And I fall backwards. 2nd reason, Since I prefer to ride flat rocker I tend to wheel bite even though the frame it’s kind of advance for wheel biting. Moreover,I would love for you to make a video on how to prevent over jumping especially with an AO soul which is technically a sort of easy trick but when you over jump it, the falls can be brutal. I over jumped one then hit my coccyx so hard I was out for a month and a half.
The key here is you are going to need some speed. I used to do alley oop soles on ramps, easy cause you can carve and mini ramp coping is slick. Concrete like that has to be waxed and you don't get the angle like you should he charged at it, scary but it works.

I’ve just made my first steps into AO and True territory and had quite the conundrum figuring out “how far should I be for the rotation?” Which, obviously, you covered perfectly. I may hug the obstacle a little closer than a body width away as my rotation is (surprisingly) generally stationary but I have yet to fully confirm that. Thanks as always.

Ah man, so I'm a left foot back when I'm skating fakie, and right footed soul grind. I have been landing on the soul alleyoop but I just seem to stick, or slide only a foot or so before I jam up and fall off. It is a curved edge box though, so perhaps that's making it trickier.
Hey man! Very nice tutorial! I have one question, because something happens to my AO Soul that I somehow can't fix. I can't hold my non soul foot on the grind. I jump on the box, land in the soul, lock it, but then it transfers into a Makio, because the non soul foot rotates out and I have to jump off. I have my left foot back rolling fakie, but my right foot is my soul foot, if that is important for you to know.
So, is the difference between an AO and True determined on your grind foot, or the direction you approach the ledge? I've been watching videos and I can't wrap my head around it. I heard if the ledge is on your left and you spin to the left that would be an AO, and if you spin to the right that is a True. It looks like you are spinning to the right in the video. Looking for clarification. Thanks.
It's all a matter of spin direction. If you spin in a way that you see the ledge the whole time that is AO but if you spin in a way that the ledge disappears for a moment that's typically true. I'll be making advanced tutorials in the future covering true spin grinds.
@@acostablades8138 Indeed you are correct, but I think you should have spoken about Souls, and Torque souls before you jumped into Soyales for tweaked out AO grinds. My assumption is most people digesting these types of videos may not know what a pudslide is for example. Just a thought. Much love.
What is it called if u do an alley oop soul grind but you spin 180 the other way like outwardly and still end up in fakie sliding in the soul grind losition because ive been trting to get this one down
