Yeah, I wonder if the person behind Kiara had some kind of crush on the person behind Calli, or maybe was just crazy about her because she was the only member she could visit, but like, even Ame called attention to how crazy about Calli Kiara was at the start

@@KalilIllinois Ngl it really put me off from Kiara cos Calli was very forward with her boundaries but Kiara would just poke the bear which really fueled THAT part of the fandom. Still to this day I get the ick from seeing takamori stuff online and at cons.

​​@@NexusVFD yeah early Takamori was forced in a bad way and turned me off from Calli and especially Kiara for the longest time. Only after tHey toned it down and interacted with each other genuinely did I realize that I enjoy both of them very much.

I think Kiara started to pull it back after a way out along with calli's responses to her advances

@@KalilIllinois i feel like them actually hanging out in person was a huge part of kiaras excitement towards calli, she has the same enthusiasm towards other members now when they meet irl but at the begiing it was jaring and more than the level of what was going on with the rest of the team so it stood out a lot

The first two years were memorable. They were figuring things out for themselves And Japan can't micromanage their lives like they do now, so they were free to do whatever. Then the borders opened and "return to office" Japan began. Now all you hear about the girls are "Homework this" and "studio practice that" and "Perms over there", or "I want to do (thing) but management blah blah blah" No, I'm not bitter over them Shooting down Watame's plan for her first love over 3 year ago, why do you ask?

After watching the whole interview I was surprised at just how quick she remembered things with the ameverse part

No, it was Kiara’s attempt to Yuri bait which she herself wanted to make them stand out, which Calli tried her best but it wasn’t really them unlike nowadays where genuine friendship shown.

@@nyeffer9414 possible. but i would think ina was the most unremarkable one in the group who needed that kind of trickery tho... people immediate realized who gura was, and soon cali and ame. it's not until quite a while later when ina started to draw on stream, people started to think her drawing looks familar and connected the dots

In your opinion. For example, how long do you poke at a person. They tell you, point blank they hate this. You continue poking them. Do you blame the person getting angry saying "I don't like this" or do you blame the people laughing outside who possibly told you to poke them? Or do you take the blame since admittedly you chose to poke the person. Now imagine that person was in fact a reasonable part of possibly 100k-200k your audience at the time. Also consider that the same amount roughly of the other girls fans. You poke these people for well over a full year? Maybe more. I ask you, how much flak is deserved, in saying this knowing full well it's not exactly something you can quantify. I personally believe she wanted to do it regardless of what was popular or possibly covers intentions. That it she is just that good if an actor entertainer (which I do think she is to be fair) to do this for so long. The rewards or consequences are all hers for the taking. She got her die hard cultist shipper followers and lost the general audiences. Whether that's bad is up to them I guess.

@gunzzter123 If you feel that way, just don't watch her? Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of it either back in the day, but it doesn't happen anymore, it's well in the past so I don't know why so many people are hung up over it and assuming things about her just because you're not fond of her.

@@ghostbyun your not understanding. This isn't about me, at that time people did stop and never came back. Only in the past year or so did I personally start watching on and off.(Which I never thought I'd do). My point was more that it didn't matter who was to blame. It happened... And kept going for a long time. Criticism of it does not equal "too much flak" she just got what was bound to happen and the sad thing is. As good of a person and entertainer she actually is(she's actually pretty funny and bounces off well with seemingly anyone) and deserves more praise etc. she was hindered because of this year odd long endeavour to simply please who? Shippers like I said in a different post. She is an important pillar for en and possibly all of cover. But there is no denying that this part in her career had to of hurt her which she brings up her popularity herself previously in the past. And I would go and bet that this was at least a key point as to why. But I will stress that at least for me. I simply don't believe cover pushed this idea at all. Back then cover didn't seem to have any handle on how to do things and was learning everything from scratch. Would especially be so for EN. Until otherwise specified by Kiara and calli themselves all people will give half a shit about is how annoying it was and still is.

@gunzzter123 I get what you're saying. I really do. But she's spoken about this in a member's stream before, so saying it was her decision alone is incorrect. I won't go into detail because that content is not meant to be shared, but saying it was all her isn't exactly true. But I do agree it did damage her early on, and it still haunts her to this day as 'takamori' is pushed by certain fans and casual fans who were only around during 2020-2021 will always just see her as the girl who was obsessed with Calli. Which is sad, but I do wish people would just let it go, which is why I made my original comment. Sorry if I seem argumentative, not trying to be.

@@ghostbyun lol i was actually thinking i might be coming off argumentative, so i was actually gonna say i was sorry.(i just finished work). if thats the case then there it is. I didn't say it was only her decision but elluded to both Calli and her if im not mistaken but either way. It really sucks. I say this as a person whos kinda come out of the 'fuck i cant stand her' to now going 'yeee shes pree sweet'. If there were a reason why I would seem more argumentative it would be because there ARE those fans out there that cant seem to understand the difference between criticism of a topic or thing and hate on a person. Which even before, I never hated her but really loved her input and some of her music specifically. Hinotori, Fever Night, Do U and Sparks come to mind. These songs come up randomly as they just seem to come up in random playlists or autopla on youtube. I don't think I would be listening to these things if i hated her lmao.

Frankly, same. I couldn't stand the whole shipping bs going around which was a big part of her personality or something(or so it felt like to me, like god damn every moment possible its all she fed into). Not that- that was entirely their fault. I really enjoy watching Calli and her music. But back then it was like every moment they were around just became a takamori ohhh look at the annoying girl throw love bombs while the other one deflects but in a tsun way. Which would even happen during bigger collabs with all the members.... It really put me off Kiara for the longest time. But nowadays I enjoy her streams/vods occasionally if its something I'm interested in or when I have time. She still has this way of speaking that sounds incredibly self centered but I think thats more about how it comes off vs how she actually means it? for lack of a better way of saying it lmao, after all- everyone who seems to meet her says shes a really caring and loving person so I think thats genuinely who she is despite how she comes off(to me). I think Kiara's personality is just not really my jam at the end of the day but I respect her a lot for the things shes been able to do and achieve. Like this show for example, its a great idea and really helps with understanding the other members and even her. I genuinely think she- like the other girls was an important pillar for hololive EN and maybe the whole company as well even with my criticisms of the early days stuff lmao. Though I never had a moment like "oh god no" when she interacted more with JP. If anything I was more excited she was using her skills in some level of JP language where she could.

@@gunzzter123 At the time Hololive was pushing a lot of the shipping culture because those types of people are more parasocial. Noel and Flare, okayu and korone, so forth and so on. I see that for the most part Hololive as a company as well as the girls have largely gone away from that as it really is low hanging fruit

I think PekoMoona was what finally turned me around on the "shipping" thing. That was _organic,_ and Kiara _waltzing_ into the middle of that was _hilarious._

@@E4439Qv5 imo, the pekomoona thing wasnt even a shipping thing at all. They legit just attempted to interact more together in minecraft which bled over into other moments that as you say, was more organic. I don't recall back then anyone pushing them 2 to be together or that they are together as a 'couple' or relationship. People did find it ironic that they were the rabbit and the moon thematically though lmao.(if you are aware of the folk tale about the rabbit and the moon).
