How An Ultrasonic Diffuser Works

hi, thanks for sharing the video. so basically we put oil in the diffuser tank filled with water and set it on how many hour it will last right? i have 2 question related to it: 1. is there any difference in the effect of the essential oils if we set it for 2 and 3 hours? 2. there will be leftovers water, is there any essential oils left in the water? should I add another if I want to use the diffuser again? Thanks you

It doesn't help your immune system or clean the air at all. The only thing ultrasonic diffusers do is spray a mist of oil and water into the air in a very fine mist. The oils are scented, so it makes the air smell better. We associate these smells with certain feelings, which our brains will make us experience to confirm the association. Essentially, we have been taught to feel a certain way around a certain oil, so we feel that way. It's a total placebo. In fact, the additional water that will inevitably condense on your walls, ceiling, and floor could help sustain microbes like mold and bacteria. If the water or oils you're using aren't pure, you could be adding slightly harmful compounds to the air. If you're allergic to the oil you're using, you will have an allergic reaction, which is pretty much the opposite of helping. All that being said, will this hurt you? Probably not. Will it help you? It can help your room smell a bit better temporarily. Other than that, your brain is tricking you into believing it's helpful. If you want to actually clean your air, buy an ozone generator or UV-C lamps. They are able to kill pathogens in a relatively safe way. You can't be in the room while they're operating, but once turned off, it's safe to enter again.

I hear what you're saying but the "placebo" effect or effectiveness topic was addressed and resolved in my video here (point 3): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tvRb_lisaCE.html Ozone generators or UV-C lamps are other options, but don't affect the limbic part of your brain quite like essential oils do due to their chemical constituent makeup. If you have fact based evidence to support your claims about associating certain smells with certain feelings or the placebo effect with essential oils then I'd be open to hearing how that decreases their effectiveness as a mood enhancement or micro-organism deterrent.

It doesn't clean the air. It allows oil to evaporate with water and make your room smell nice. That's the very end of the benefit you will get from this. Smelly things are nice. I don't know why this guy has to throw out a bunch of non-scientific bullshit when the product does enough.

Thanks for sharing this video and for allowing us to comment but I had to give you a thumbs down although I should not have .... you said it how it works, simple, that vibration makes the water separate into particles but then you talked about a lot of other things... but I would have rather hear more about vibration and the mechanical result of it ; ( .... I will watch other videos hoping to see about 5 minutes of how it actually works not how it cleans the air with oil and something else.... the title or the explanation should be changed I think

Marlon Vite I appreciate your opinion, but this overview video covered how the diffuser worked from a basic level and was not a deep dive or class, which would allow for more details and customization of information. I’m a natural solutions educator, not a mind reader or encyclopedia.
