1 more pro TIP Jeff, if that cedar tree loses its smell, you can sand it down with sandpaper (gently) to bring back that cedar for it to smell new again. 👍🏻
I have had some good luck finding cedar shoe trees at a second-hand store for between $0.50 to $2 a pair. It's allowed me to have shoe trees in all of my shoes all of the time (unless I'm wearing them, of course!). You just hit the outside edges with a bit of sandpaper and that fresh cedar smell is right back; this is something people should be doing with their cedar trees annually anyways.
Style O.G., what a great video. Thanks for adding the tip that it's only really necessary to own 1 or 2 shoe trees and you only need to leave it in the shoe about 24 hrs. No other video I've watched on shoe trees answered those questions. Style O.G., the real MVP.
Another great video. As of now, my shoe collection consists of mainly high end shoes, particularly Allen Edmonds and the like. I personally do more than the average person, as I spend hours cleaning, conditioning, and polishing. However, the main component is definitely the shoe tree. I have shoes that are over 20 years old that have had their lives extended with the use of shoe trees. Right on, Jeff.!
Thanks for explaining how and when to use shoe trees as well as covering how many are needed. I always thought I needed a set for every pair of shoes, which is cause prohibitive. Greatly enjoyed this video ..... I’ve watched it twice! 👍🏼
Looking sharp, Jeff. Great video. Obviously, if you are going to invest hundreds of dollars in quality shoes, shoe trees are a must. I use them in Chucka and dress boots, as well as dress shoes. For those on a limited budget, you can buy one pair of cedar shoe trees and use them on the shoes/boots immediately after you take them off. In 24 hours, you can replace them with plastic shoe trees, since the cedar has already done its job. If I'm not wearing the shoes/boots, I always have a shoe tree in them. I also use shoe trees when I condition and polish the shoes. Stretching them out allows the conditioner to permeate into the minor surface cracks and the wax to seal those cracks. I think shoe trees are a must if you want your shoes to look their best and last.
Jeff thanks for this video I was surprised how many men are not familiar with shoe trees I actually had one gentleman tell me he always those were the items worn by the dutch no joke shoes go a long way to extend the life of our shoes their investment is invaluable appreciate you sharing this information
Also, it is much easier to polish with the cedar shoe tree inside. Can you do video on shoe polish? I kinda became addicted to make my shoes mirror shine.
Great video, there was so much I didn't know. The shoe tree will definitely keep the shape of the the shoe. And absorb the moisture from wearing the shoes. You made my day. Information of knowing something is awesome. I will go out and purchase the cedar shoe tree.
I picked up 4 boot trees. I have about 10 pairs of good leather boots. Leaving Boot Trees for long periods of time will not harm the shoe is any way, unless they are in their super tight, which should never be the case anyways. Thanks for sharing.
I have one pair of shoe trees for every pair of shoes. I always keep them when not using the shoes. Maybe is too much but I think the shape of the shoes will long last this way. I ended up using a regular shoe tree for my Dean Chelsea Boots from Paul Evans instead of a boot trees which are more expensive and almost impossible to find in Mexico. Salute !
I'm the same way - every time I buy a pair of shoes, I include a pair of trees for them (my holy grail is a pair of bespoke shoes with trees made from the last). There are several that are 20 years old and still look close to brand new, and that's a testament to keeping them in trees and rotating them (for the most part...I use a pair of Gravati's as daily wear when I shouldn't. But put it on a tree and give it some Renovatur, and it looks great minus some scratches). BTW: With a bunch of shoes, the trees also keep spiders out of the deep recesses, as they can even get into boxes.
One thing I use is heel protectors. The way I walk causes me to grind down the heel of a shoe very quickly. The heel protectors are easy to nail on and will preserve the life of your shoe.
I prefer the shoe tree with the gold knob enabling you to pull it in and out more easily I also think you should have a shoe tree for every pair of shoes because why invest in a shoe you don’t want to last forever? THATS what it does! It’s only $20 Also, while building your shoe tree arsenal, simply stuff the remaining pairs with paper, (printing, tissue, news, etc) until each of them have their own tree Just as good!
Served 26 years in the Army wearing leather boots. The heavy duty plastic shoe trees sold at all of the clothing sales store worked great then and now.
When traveling do you pack your shoes with shoe trees? I am going out of town for the weekend, bringing my shoes for a conference. Want to pack light, but I also want to protect my shoes. Can I skip the trees while traveling for weekend, what about 2 week business trip? Bring them then. Do I store my shoes with the trees in. I have one really good pair of shoes that I wear maybe once a week. leave the trees in?
O.G. It's back with another one. Guys pay attention. I repeat pay attention. It's been a couple of days. Since i last comment. But I'm always on the grind. That doesn't mean I'm not supporting my boi,O.G. on his channel. Trust me guys and pay attention..

Hey bro.. this was some really useful info. I definitely will pass it on to two particular men that i know could use this information. Thanks for sharing💖
yO a 16 y.o gent here, recently got a shoe tree for my burgundy brogued cap toe, but I'd like to also ask what's the background song. Kinda got my ear and has me a bit distracted 😂
Will your shoes not lose any shape if you put the shoe tree in it after wear then not put it back in the shoe till after you wear it again? I was convinced you have to have a pair for each shoe to stay in at all times.
I'm getting a pair of Santonis size 9.5 D and the sizing is just on the M/L from what I've seen on the nordstrom shoe trees what size between the 2 would you recommend
Mad funny I just got into using the cedar wood trees about a month ago Nordstrom had them on sale for around $12, copped around 14 of them, got them in my Tims and in my dress shoes(not into sneakers too much), I keep them in there mostly to keep the shape so they stay in there after I let them air out for about a day after I wear them then I put the trees in and put them away, do have some of the ikea plastic ones which I did make that mistake and put them in the dress shoes which I had in there for a while, those are now in my canvas shoes/loafers, as far as my drivers shoes I keep the folded up paper in those, keep hearing that shoe trees might stretch them out of there shape, can't do that risk to my Tod$$$. Great & informative vid as usual my brother, Be Safe;-).
Hey, thanks for making this video. But I have a really important question. I have a pair of Woodlore shoe trees with really slender heels. I heard somewhere that it's important to get shoe trees with wide heels or else they will destroy the heels of your shoes or boots. Is this true? Or is it okay to use the slender-heeled ones?
Sam s the Nordstrom brand I have runs from small to XXL, also has a shoes size chart on the back so you can pick the right size for your shoe. Be Safe;-).
