The European Parliament voted to create a special tribunal to prosecute the Russian leadership who unleashed the war in Ukraine. However, as long as the war is raging thousands of kilometers away from the Kremlin walls, it is very difficult to imagine Vladimir Putin, Sergei Shoigu, and Valentina Matvienko in The Hague. Nevertheless, the hour of a fair trial comes in the history of any belligerent dictatorship. Pavel Kanygin looks closer at the Nuremberg trials of Nazi criminals, the trials of Saddam Hussein and of Slobodan Milosevic to see what a tribunal for the war in Ukraine might be like.
