How Are Evangelicals Shaping American Politics? (With Ed Stetzer) | The Atlantic Festival 2022 

This morning I was listening to an Hitchens review about his book on Jefferson. Jefferson like 100% of the founding fathers knew one religion got involved it was the end of the nations. They just left Europe who had been fighting religious wars for 1700 year's. I like reading comments. Most of the comments disagreed with Hitchens & said the founding fathers felt Religion Christian religion was the basis of our constitution. Complete insanity.

Great point the pastor made to Tim. The members love America more than God.

Yes, but what if you see this jesus movement, as even Ed overwhelmingly states, as a way to live your life? And for those who don't live that way, you look upon them as pitiable or ignorant? In other words, you christians JUDGE all who don't follow your gospels as, in some manner, inferior? Because you do. I know as one who grew up in that environment the reckoning that comes from NOT toeing the line. And as we see now, if you will not toe the line, they (the christians) will MAKE you toe that line. And god help you if you disagree or don't. THAT is why so many, myself included, have left the church and will never return!
