Sperm donation - How sperm donors are matched with patients?
One of the reasons for male infertility is azoospermia which is the absence of sperm in the ejaculate. In such cases as a first step, TESE or PESA is used to extract sperm surgically. Despite this procedure, if no sperm can be extracted, then sperm donation is used. For men with a genetic disease, sperm donation can also be used.
During the matching of a sperm donor with the patient, the height, hair, eye and skin colours are all taken into account. At Dunya IVF, we only use sperm imported from world’s leading sperm banks. These sperm donors undergo extensive testing and are certified by our Ministry of Health. In addition to the testing data, we also have information about the ethnicity, educational information and detailed physical feature information of the sperm donor.
