No same shabhdhabedi was learnt By Ekalavya *without a guru* and when he was found, he was asked to cut off his thumb and he does without hesitation. He wass the greatest. Because he learned without a guru, he just imagined his guru to be Drona and became an expert and still when drona find out about it and asked for thumb he immediately cit hos thumb off as Guru Dakshina. Cruel cruel but he did it. (WHEn these prices went to forest to hunt, Ekalavya uses 9 arrows using shabdhavedi vidya and shuts dog's mouth without hurting the dog. Arjuna was shocked to see a serious competition to his skill. Arjuna asks drona, sir you promised me you'd make me the greatest. Drona said he will keep his promise and he asked Ekalavya who taught you. When drona find out that Ekalavya considered HIM as imaginary teacher and learnt this. He asks for his thumbs as Guru dakshina, without a thought Ekalavya cuts off his thumbs thus loses his amazing skill)
