Good observation. The fall of Denkyira was definitely by conquest. What should be made clear is that the Asante Armies included Amankwa Tia and some of his warriors and other Denkyiras who had defected and settled in Kwaman as a result of the succession dispute. These defections no doubt weakened Denkyira but it was still a great and powerful Kingdom. The Kingdom under Ntim Gyakari which the Asante defeated was a powerful one. Asante and their warriors and allies deserve their due for the conquest.
