This poor boy deserved better. He needed a loving family and lots of therapy. But life just isn't fair like that. If it was fair, he never would have ended up on his dark path in the first place. I suppose at least he had the chance to know what giving and receiving real love felt like, since I don't think he knew it before Eiji. And that's, for many people, really what life is about --- trying to find moments of joy and love in a sea of struggles.

I count the art they share of them together in Japan as Canon. Ash survive the stab, finished what ever shit he had to do in new York, and moved to Japan to be with Eiji. The end!
Ash never knew what it was like to receive this kind of unconventional love from another person. He cherished how he could just be the teen he was with his friend. He trusted and led his guard down.

Yeah..people always trade life for life and wishes like this always come true..I still can't believe Ash died not because he was stabbed but he let himself bleed to death.... like come on ,it's not at all fair eiji wanted to take Ash to Japan...away from his criminal life Why it has to end like that

@@yeongmelli3734 when eiji was going to Japan ,he didn't know Ash died, I don't know about the manga but i have seen a page in which when eiji return to US,knowing about Ash death he mistake someone with ash...it just broke my heart..tears just started rolling I agree that when someone shares such a special bond, it's cruel to separate them by death... I don't know what happens to eiji after knowing about Ash...but i never have the courage to read the manga as I know I won't be able to see eiji without ash
@@yeongmelli3734 yes, when he was stabbed his expression...as if he realised that no matter how hard he try he will always have enemies who can hurt eiji and the best way to keep him safe is to let God take his life.. When eiji was shot in front of him, the way he behaved...it was so painful to watch I am so happy I found your comment..back when I watched the series 2 years ago I had no one to talk to about it...i just cried in my bed thinking about Ash life, he meeting eiji, skipper his brother and shorter death and series ending I didn't know what happened to eiji after knowing about Ash dead...you say he didn't cut his hair or have a relationship or keep ash belonging with him....oh man I just can't 😭
SPOILER ALERT!!! 1:11 Oh my God, I just realised that this was foreshadowing the ending. No way! T.T I'm crying again. This anime destroyed me. I'd really love to rewatch it but I am just too scared to do it.
I think that if eiji had died instead of ash, poor ash would not be free from the life he had. I think that everything would've made a turn for the worse and ash would've lost himself.
The story is beautiful but it lacks something... They're love for each other has never been proven 😩 yk what I mean right? What's the meaning of the line "I'll wait for you no matter what/I will always wait for you even it takes forever"?! Then they are still "Friends" 😭 I've never hated the word friends not until this anime
I think this is what makes their bond even more unique and precious I personally believe that they found love and peace within each other, but it was totally not sexual Pure love you could say
