for me personally I think adding in Lots of (Skippable) Cutscenes for the story arcs. In addition to ambient noise, wind/weather effects, music, player sound fx, and camera angles, I think cut scenes add a huge amount of immersion for the player especially if its cut in smoothly and timed perfectly without much latency to start. The length of the CS obviously matters but also the meat of it as well. How the characters respond in the scene, Showing your player emotions and actually engaged, also knowing your part of a bigger community of sanctus travelers and not "YOUR THE ONLY HERO", type. Let it bring your character into the story and in combination with other players as a whole.
Another solid video, Q. When I am immersed in a game world, I can't stop thinking about it. All day I'm looking for ways to get more info on it or to interact with it. I'm not saying Ashes is built for it, but I lost immersion in WoW when they stopped the auction app. I no longer cared about Azeroth for my entire day. Expanding Verra beyond the short time I get online would help me get immersed, but only after they get out the actual game.
I prefer to be zoomed out far enough to see 20ish feet in every direction. immersion is great but in a game where I can be attacked at any time. I need to see who is running up on me before they get to me.
The only thing i have to disagree with is the immersion point, if i don't want to live in the world... if I'm not wishing this game was full dive, it's not immersing enough 🤔 #AOCIsTheNewSAO
Third Person is NOT immersive, it is the opposite of immersive. If you want immersion start with real robust First Person. It would be great if Third Person views weren't directly a feature of the engine but rather a feature of game mechanics, then you could manage Third Person immersively. It could be interactive with other game mechanics, countered, upgraded, limited, itemized, etc...
@@sticqeno288 I just don't see how you are immersed in the game when you are following your character around with a disassociated camera view. Not that a game can't be fun, engaging or interesting, but I don't see it as immersive. It's not that I'm opposed to having Third Person, it's that I think it's more appealing if it's implemented in an immersive, engaging, interactive, and interesting, way. And of course not without real immersive First Person as the basis for the experience. /shrug
As a member of Memorandum, I can we have a really nice community being built. We would love to have more people who want to become the best in their respective fields. Calling all Rogues 🥷
