Could you do a video on when NOT to use utility? I've found a lot of the time giving your position away or making yourself vulnerable for a few seconds isn't worth it.
@nazzle-o6q
@nazzle-o6q 6 лет назад
yeah thats a good idea actually i think i suffer from it myself just using utility when its just a waste
@mistletoe88
@mistletoe88 6 лет назад
obviously the problem here is you're forgetting to ask yourself WHY you're using your utility. if you only use them when they are going to serve a specific purpose then even if you ocassionally get caught off by a random peek then it is still worth it. once you're able to answer the why then figuring out whether it is worth it is just a matter of balancing the pros and cons.
@Elmapuddy
@Elmapuddy 6 лет назад
Sounds possible :)
@androsp9105
@androsp9105 6 лет назад
rusty_frame yeah i would still like to see a video that focuses on when the cons outway the pros. There are a lot of potential cons to using utility at the wrong time eg. -giving away your position -vulnerable for a few seconds -having to slow down to set up a smoke -you might need your utility later -you can flash or smoke off your teammates It gets pretty complicated.

This is already a tactic in some fps games that are popular in my country called Point Blank(search it on google) or Piercing Blow in US. Its called a spam bombing tactic. Basically you search some spots and taking advantage of map glitches, bounds and stuff to throw a grenade to certain positions to break the enemy defense or attack. Search it on youtube for spam bombing techniques in Point Blank and see the similarities

One of the biggest reasons as to why astralis is at top rn imo is Magisk. I mean what a player. He is a force to be reckoned with. He is coming back to his old form back then in dignitas when he was dropping numbers and multifragging almost every single round. The guy is like a not so poor man's coldzera. Smart, consistent, plays his angles amazingly, and is actually one of the best sprayers in the game right now. He is the stability astralis needed so that players like dupreeh and device can go aggro and take over games whenever they feel like it. Amazing simply

I do this for a long time now, prioritising HEs, I always buy one rather than two flashes. With lack of teamwork and worse awareness than the astralis players I go down/get caught with nade out sometimes, but I usually get the most HE kills in any match I play. HE stacks were in the pro and casual meta for a while now, but only in very few situations, usually the drop area on cobble, banana on inferno or fountain on overpass. I didn't think they could be used this effective but with good demo analysis and teamwork astralis found a ton of spots they can prenade against certain teams. Notable here the window nade stack on mirage against faze, knowing they like to play with two there. I think this will change the way the game is played, but fitting in the long term shift that is going on. The game gets more dynamic and away from static holds. What's the counter to a nade stack? A well timed push and unexpected positioning. I believe in a few months we will see teams play even more dynamically and throwing the nade stack in every now and than to make sure the enemy has to do the same. That sounds like something faze could abuse to dominate again because their players are so skilled, but let's see

What do you mean they're changing nade meta? This shit is done literally in every MM and faceit match in any chocke points or standart awping positions/holding angles as long as you tell your team to do it. It's also not unusual to drop 1-2 mollos + 1 nade into a spot to make sure the person dies if the area is too big to accurately guarantee a nade kill.

I don't think they really changed the meta in a major way. They only added another possibility of team strategy. If it was a meta change EVERYONE would do it now which is not the case. Also nade stacks aren't new at all to CounterStrike. Astralis didn't invent this. They just are a team that uses this strategy more than others (one strategy of many).
