I honestly think Alleiger would be better for the 4th quarter. He is the bowling ball that will run throu blocks. But Alleiger needs to be part of the gameplan more than he was last week.
@jo0123 I 100% agree. A fresh(ish) 7 is far more likely to make that one guy miss in the 4th when they're just a little too tired to get that angle or wrap him up. A lot of upside. No downside really letting 25 carry the rock early. I'm not saying split time, but both guys could be brutal on tired Ds in the 4th. But that's IF the D was on the field a lot more than last Sunday
Gameplan was weak af and embarrassingly limited. The fact that our staff thought 0 passes from under center and no play action passes would be able to beat any NFL team is an absolute joke. Kirk clearly is either physically or mentally unable to drive a throw off his back foot or even take a 3 step drop. It’s entirely sabotaging the season if what we saw on Sunday with 100% of passes coming out of the pistol with 0 runs out of that formation is all we’re going to do. Don’t even get me started on no plan whatsoever for helping McGary with TJ Watt (and no I’m not counting having Pitts in to sneeze on Watt as help) The rest of the league can see these horrid limitations with Kirk and unless they sit him until he’s healthy enough to pass from under center and use play action this season is already over. If only we had a top 8 drafted QB waiting in the wings to play in the mean time until our vet QB coming off a major injury was ready to run a competent offense…… oh wait
I'm gonna guess that they wanted to ease Kirk into the season. This doesn't mean that he isn't healthy, but that they wanted to slowly get him used to playing again. I don't agree with this idea either, but it makes more sense than just assuming that he isn't healthy.
Yes, zero play action , no adjustment to help McGary, telegraphing run or pass by the formation, no adjustments at halftime (our offense was even worse in the 2nd half) . . . all of that is on the OC. We had the whole preseason to come up with a gameplan against the Steelers, and this is what we trot out there? I seriously question whether this OC has a clue and I'm certainly not subject Penix to some Mickey Mouse scheme and ruin his confidence.
As much as I want Tyler to stay, unfortunately, it doesn't seem he will get a fair deal in Atlanta. Bijan is a good dude and nothing against him. Tyler can be RB1 somewhere else, no problem. Other teams like Detroit seem to be able to manage multiple RBs just fine.
@@WilliamPaul-v3b Did he though? He did in early games. Arthur let the press/fans get in the way sometimes. If he used Tyler too much, he'd hear about it after the game and reduce his use in future games. Not to go down this rabbit hole but the falcons didn't need Bijan after Tyler's first year. That draft pick could have been used elsewhere. We are where we are now and happy to have Bijan but it seems bizarre to have your rookie rushing record holder standing on the sidelines the majority of the game and losing the game at that. A very winnable game.
@toepunch838 I absolutely agree with everything you said including drafting Robinson although he's very talented because I'm fully convinced that Tyler proved he is capable of being a RB1. My point was that Smith did see his talent and evidently this regime doesn't.
Don’t be afraid to tell the truth fellas. I honestly can’t blame kirk when you have a OC that calls vanilla plays every drives. No play action predictable run plays. Terrible gameplay offensively. Raheem is also the blame. No plan for tj watt, and for the flags and fumbles. Just all around bad
Kirk is not healthy and shouldn’t have been out there. Pittsburgh knew what was coming because Kirk couldn’t move. The OC made things easy for Watt because the offense was so predictable. That’s why he appeared to be offsides, he knew what was coming. So did Queen, there are plenty of video breakdowns showing this. Allow Kirk to heal and play the rookie. I wonder who cleared Kirk for full contact, guy couldn’t generate any velocity on his passes while clearly dragging his left leg, which is the injured one. Unacceptable from the franchise as a whole, too embarrassed to admit they signed an aging and injured QB. When did they know? Is that why the drafted Penix and held him out of the preseason? I’m just perplexed as to why play an injured old guy….
@@clarencedolan699 i watched the press from raheem and he said that kirk is 100% fine. He said he’s been ready when camp arrived. I could be wrong but i think the reason why Zac didn’t create any play action plays was because the o-line was getting to kirk so much that game, and tj watt we couldn’t do nothing. So it could be Zac Robinson didn’t trust in the o-line especially with watt creating heavic. I mean we couldn’t do anything to block him. And that’s why we went with bijan with mainly running the ball.
@@justin8006 They knew what was coming, that’s why they lived in the back field. The Steelers admitted that, and there’s film proving it. Watt knew the snap count, the OC was the cause of that. The HC is lying by saying he’s 100%, guy couldn’t throw it 30 yards downfield. Ray-Ray had more targets than Pitts and Drake combined. There’s video showing him making certain throw with his back leg off the ground, yea that leg. If you’ve ever thrown a football, that back leg needs Achilles support. He’s injured we’re not stupid.
The offence didn’t perform well. Raheem’s game plan was inadequate. I’m more worried about the ability of our coaches to put together a winning game plan
@@mas2913 It's just one game. Most teams don't get three very good defenses out the gate. Especially one that hasn't been to the playoffs in 6 years and had three years of being 7/9. Go figure.
I said that to say I love this team! It’s not over at all! However it starts now. Yeah it’s game one but urgency is needed don’t become predictable we will rise up!ATLANTA SHOW THEM WHO WE ARE!
Stop that pistol on offense, that’s not fooling nobody…. Play action waaaay more, don’t get Robinson best up so early, put Cousin behind center or in shotgun
He’s 100% not 100%., the Steelers knew what was coming every play, that’s why Watt lived in the backfield. That’s on the OC and HC. Kirk shouldn’t have been out there period.
Ppl need to realize it’s the first game with new OC, DC and QB. Especially a QB that hasn’t had a real snap in a yr. It’s going to take a minute for the team to gel.
Forcing Robinson the ball every other play gotta do better 50/50 split with him and Tyler Alliger. -Force ball too Pitts, London and Mooney gotta do better guys
@@felipesanchez-td5sena 3 and 2. yall got to realize we loss to tj watt. he dont play for eagles, chiefs def not saints and bucs 😂😂😂. aint no game goig to look like this for the rest of the season. dont forget we did not allow one td. every fieldgoal kick was over 50 yards and he made 6 out of 6.
@@felipesanchez-td5se you wont but i will. how many tds did we allow? does your team have a kicker that can make 6 out of 6 50+ yard field goals? no i didnt think so. your defense has someone that is good enough to have a 95 pff rating like watt?
Kyle Shanahan showed the Falcons the blueprint last night. They ran the football and used playaction and misdirection to keep the Jets off balance. The Falcons need to score thirty plus points to achieve their goal. You got to stay ahead of the chains. The defense needs to get turnovers.
@@dtrain6255 Well this is part of Raheem Morris tree. I got to give him a chance to get this offense right. But he can't be Sean McVay or run that pistol like LA Rams do. Mix it up with play action.
@@antcantcook960 You're absolutely right the 49ners are loaded. But I rather they get Kirk Cousins under center and run play action something that Kirk is familiar with and runs very well. The wide zone scheme, now if Kirk can't do that-somethings wrong. I do know that even though the doctor's signed off on his recovery. He's still eight weeks behind Aaron Rodgers. But pass rushers will exploit that pistol formation.
THE WHOLE Atlanta Falcons team AND organization beed to go back and WATCH that Detroit Lions and RAMS game and let THAT be the Standard of how they need to play moving forward.... but yeah, I think kirk is injured which is why they NEVER did any play action plays...
I’m not finished with the video but I honestly think y’all should’ve got on Zac Robinsons’ ass like Aaron Freeman did in his video… he called a TERRIBLE game
@@nigeriabutler3186there will be a revolt if Penix "shines" and help winning the game against philly and they go back to Kirk! They don't have the male eggs to start Michael!😮😅😊
Playing against your own defense is nothing like playing against another team. Joint practices are a far better prep which Kirk did. That's a big assumption that Penix is gonna play well. He could just as easily stink big time. College is nothing like the NFL either.
Honestly, it's dumb to not have your starters get any reps in preseason when they haven't had any game contact since the last season ended and you have multiple new pieces that are playing major roles for the team on top of two of your key players coming back from major injury. Let's not include the fact that we have a new offensive coordinator who's calling plays for the first time in his career and a quarterback who hasn't played with any of the receivers that he has, so it doesn't make sense to not play them a little in the preseason. Secondly, if the quarterback can't get under center to run plays, he probably shouldn't be playing. On top of that the offense was just too predictable. 22 plays out of shotgun and they were all passes. And if you're going to primarily have KT in the slot or off of the line then it's probably time to stop calling him a tight end because we're not using him as a tight end. Therefore, he's not getting the mismatches that come with his athleticism at the tight end position
@@gregphipps7082 I hear what you're saying, but at the same time teams only stop playing their starters in the preseason recently when they added a 17th game to the regular season and took away that fourth game from the preseason. But even still a lot of teams still get their starters at least one or two drives in the preseason, especially if they have a whole bunch of new pieces that have never worked together in an actual game because they need to get that rhythm and they need to get on the same page with one another to be ready for the regular season, which is what we weren't.
I just hope and pray that the Atlanta falcons can get their mistakes done because when they go into Philly that's what they usually say it's a Philly thing it's going to be very rough for the dirty birds Atlanta falcons rise up I really hope that my team can get it together because it's not going to be an easy one but we have to fight fight fight fight and when it's all said and done fight again
@@deanladue5367 In 2022, it was week 2 and the team was a learning a new and complicated system from their new coach. But in 2023....Kirk played lights out....31 of 44 for 364 yards, 70% completion, 4 TD, 0 INT, rating = 125.6, QBR = 134.4 And the Vikings almost beat the Eagles, too. They were down 27-7 with 10 minutes left in the third quarter. Kirk brought the score back to within 6 points….twice in the 4th quarter. The score was 34-28 with 1 minute left in the game. The Vikings were punting the ball and had an onside kick at the 50 yard line. Had the Vikings recovered the ball, there would have been enough time (one minute) to score a TD and win the game. Even if the field goal was missed, it would have gone into overtime.
Take the bubble rap off of Kirk and allow him to play the style football you signed him to play. Rise Up & WIN baby!!! Beat the Eagles and turn this media buzz around! All In!

There was a drive where najee got two big runs back to back and you could see judon get annoyed. Next play judon grabbed him and wouldn't let go. 😂 Said something to him while he held him on the ground but idk. Lol
If Kirk cant get undercenter & run a decent play-action, I don't think he's ready to play and the OC oddly avoided that situation against Pittsburgh. If Kirk isn't ready, you gotta put Penix in the there. There are no other options
Lets just be really reallly honest, Cousins has NOT healed enough to win a game against Carolina, much less Philly or KC. Coach Rah owes it to the other 47 players suiting up to give 9 a chance. If they actually believe a still injured, severely limited 18 gives them a better chance than a healthy 9, why on Earth did they draft 9?
I cant get behind the penalty narative. We had 6 total, 5 combined for 34 yards. Pittsburgh had 11 total, 9 combined for 60 yards! Atlanta's all occured in the 3rd qtr or later. Our offensive play calling, passing and offensive line were atrocious.
I'm sorry 8 of 17 on third down it's not that big of a deal as to why this game was lost. We all know why. Zach Robinson horrible play calling. Add rust primarily from the quarterback. And lack of in game reps to start week one.
We have include BOTH RBs in this offense teams will have a hard time stopping Bijan and Tyler it will open up everything 2 potential 1k rushers in the backfield
Raheem Morris Job is to tell them that was a embarrassing intro Zach tighten up...... So trust me they know you see they working out other players. Fans are overreacting they need to settle down. This the same team who's starters didn't have a preseason.
The Falcons can’t evolve they are cursed they will probably get beat by the Philadelphia Measles by 2 TD’s or we blow a chance late and lose in heartbreaking fashion.
Falcons Defense was on POINT! yes, a turnover would have been nice but still. Offense front line, didnt show up. Kirk had no time to throw the long ball.
One of the main reasons why our receivers that are still here from Arthur Smith have a problem with getting separation is because we ran the football so much that they were blocking more than they were creating separation. There were times last year when we would be on 3rd and 17 and we would run the football.
Nah bro, create separation; that’s your job. I’m not trying to hear the whole “it’s in their minds” they’re thinking block on pass plays; no. When they know the call is a pass play, run your damn route. This was anything to read.
You're the bad luck of why we lost you worrying about the wrong thing it has nothing to do with the team success yet every video you want them focused on new Jerseys more than winning you a real loser find another team me and the team are sick of you
I didn't sell mine, but I sit in the 200 section and those tickets were going for 650 a piece. Until the team starts to show promise, it will keep happening. They keep going up on the season ticket price every other year when the product on the field doesn't justify it. People are using that money to pay for their ticket next year.
I love you guys, but I don’t understand the time spent talking about the defense. They played well. My concern is with Cousins. Is he ready to play or not? If he’s not ready, bench him until he is. I’m worried about HC & GM’s egos keeping them from making the right choice. I don’t want to hear about how everyone else was at fault for that loss. I LIKE, not love Cousins but that loss was completely on him.
No it's not completely on Kirk....smh. Do you seriously not understand that football is a team sport?? Everybody plays a part. If Kirk would have had time to throw, the Falcons win. Adam Thielen said it best…..”This is not a Bryce Young issue. This is an offensive team issue. We are all in this together. Football is the greatest team game. It’s not about an individual. It’s not basketball where you can have one or two good players and have success. In this league, in this game, you have to have 11 guys on the same page to have team success. There is no individual on this offense that is to blame. It’s a collective thing.” It's like having a great engine in your car (quarterback). But if you don't have any oil in the engine or wheels on the car....it still isn't gonna work.
We were 2-0 last year with a healthy ridder ENDED 7-10 this year still say we end 10-7 MAYBE 9-8 STOP SHOOTING ur self in the foot SHAKE OFF THE RUST COACHES AND PLAYERS learn from ur mistakes STILL EARLY DO SOMETHING before we have another losing season GETTING OLD i still say WE ARE WINNING THE SOUTH i expected rust and growing pains
@@grimerville1324 What? Just last season and the one before he was graded as one of the most accurate QBs on deep passes. Y’all just say things. The OC obviously designed a game plan in order to protect Kirk, whether Kirk wanted it or not, but a plus is that this game more than likely gave him confidence in his injury being healed from taking hits, and the fans now know that he can take a hit. I believe his issues were more mental until he realized that he’s fine, just like Pitts last year. A lot of y’all never had a significant injury and had to worry about it and trust it when the doc says you’re good. And if I’m wrong then so be it guess.
We got beat by field goals, a back up QB, and we have a Great Value Deion Sanders as a coach all talk no production and don’t let me get started about the $180 million dollar Fboy we have at QB. All this glazing isn’t going to do anything but break our hearts at the end of the year like usual. FOH Atlanta “WE ARE TIRED OF THE BS”
Clowns. My entire organization is filled with clowns. I’ve watched this team for 40 years. I’m done making excuses. Year after year. They can earn me back as a fan. Until then… they can lose every game. When they are in the playoffs, I’ll root for them again. I’m done blindly following.
So we just going to let Zach Robinson off the hook in this podcast. We're not going to mention that he had Kirk Cousins in pistol and shotgun the entire game and didn't do play action not one time. And the formations dictated whether they were going to run and pass to the point the defense of Pittsburgh just keyed in on their formations cuz it was so predictable. And when coaches talk about putting their players in the best positions to win. This was not that. Because Kirk Cousins strength is play action. But we going to glaze right over that..... okay.
@@JaidenKnight-r4s Dummy I listened to this whole thing. There is no mention about Zach Robinson predictable play calling. Or the fact that he didn't no play action. Other podcasts has mentioned that not this one. So put your panties back on.
Just put my two cent in here. I think that Kurt couldn't move. That's why we didn't have them on any center or why Zach Robinson couldn't do too much with the offense
@@grimerville1324 I feel you. But I'm not sure about that. Early in training camp Kirk was talking about that they were having him do something completely different. And that continues throughout training camp. I think this is more Zack Robinson offensive scheme. But time will tell
Allgeier is no-nonsense, hit the freakin' hole! Stop trying to emulate Barry Sanders! I bought to much merch for trying to be cute. We need down hill running. Very seldom can McGary pass block.
Why are they tiptoeing around the obvious? Kirk is injured and shouldn’t have been out there, period. Guy couldn’t throw 30 yards, and his longest completion was added by him being hit while throwing. I understand why they’re playing an old injured QB, matter of fact it’s about a hundred million reasons. Sounds like someone got duped, it’s now clear why they drafted Penix and shut him down in the preseason, they’ve known for months Kirk isn’t 100%. Sunday was a joke and not enough people are calling it out.
