Googled and found a 40.5 in vert, but the vertical leap is a terrible test. They start by measuring standing reach with both arms overhead. However, when they jump, everybody reaches with one arm. You can test this at home with no equipment. Stand in a doorway and check out your standing reach, then drop one arm and extend the other. Congrats, you probably have a 6” - 12” vert without leaving the ground. And then, stand on your tip toes. Especially if you have big feet, you’re vert now increased a couple more inches and you still haven’t left the ground. It’s part of the reason NBA guys have mid 40”s to almost 50“ verts. They have wide shoulder blades and huge feet. The average NBA guy is probably almost 18” up on the pegs by the time he leaves the ground. Since it’s a two legged jumping test, guys with a high squat to weight ratio are the real vert monsters. Since you go up then down, an extra inch of “true vertical” adds almost 5% more hang time.
@athleticcigsmoker
@athleticcigsmoker 3 года назад
chris P yeah I agree bro. The only true vertical test i’ve seen is the ones where they don’t reach for anything, you just jump as high as you can off the ground without bending your knees

The Optimistic Traveler when an NFL locker room says you’re the strongest and you’re stronger than position players that are supposed to lift more than you it’s VERY SUS. @@bakkehuset has nothing to do with the numbers he's putting up or how his body looks. It's the grueling workout regime along with practices AND games getting your ass kicked every week. 90+ percent of NFL athletes are taking something. The Chargers had another super strong pound for pound player back in '87-'88 ...The Los Angeles Rams 1st round pick in '82 draft -Barry "The Bear" Redden. He was among the strongest guys in the Rams weight room, maxing the bench at over 500 pounds, second only to Dennis "Herc" Harrah's 600+. Don't recall his squats, but he had legs like tree trunks. Oh and long time fullback Cullen Bryant retired and became an assistant strength coach for a couple years and I saw him bench 535
