I remember b4 he actually came out that this man had a song called make me over again. That was that man plead unto God. Even then as young as I was I knew then that he was fighting against. That man was in a secretive battle. He couldn't go to the churches for help because all the church does is condemned and place people into hell. That's not fair and that's not God
This has been going on for years just think of how many dl men in the church even the pastor people will follow him and respect un till they find out he was doing the same thing he was preaching about
You seem to have your facts wrong. It was always known he was gay. ALWAYS. YES make me over was a cry for help, but one thing about repentance is you must TURN FROM THAT SIN. He didn't want to turn from his sin. Church people don't have a heaven or hell to put anyone in. But church people (at least the real men and women of the living GOD) must teach and preach the word of God. We can't tiptoe around the TRUTH! He didn't want to line his life up with the word of God. Tonex has always been musically talented but let's not loose focus on that. Because Satan was, and is musically talented. He was over the music in heaven. I pray for Tonex, and his soul. But don't put his fall on the Church! That's just a blatant LIE FROM THE PITS OF HELL.
It's sad so many people couldn't listen to the message because he has admitted to something MANY people IN the church hide. We do not know if he has repented or not BUT what he is saying is truth. There is so much hate in the church and in the comments below. It is this kind of hate that make people leave the church and not want to know God. Before you tell someone to "Sit down" or "Stop Talking" ask yourself, would Jesus listen to them and have a conversation with them or judge them and not talk to them. I pray through Gods help, guidance, and love he is able to work through whatever internal struggles he may have and I pray everyone who has judged this man is able to see the beauty in him and pray for him as well. Some folk make an idol out of their church experience, an idol out of their pastor, an idol of their own experience of God, an idol out of their christian walk. an idol out of their career(music or otherwise) and an idol out of the wisdom and understanding that ushers from their mouth..The Gospel (good news) of Jesus is the power of God for salvation for life towards God and service towards the body of Christ and love for God first, then others, and holiness (separation from the world, sin, the flesh and the devil with a whole lot of repentance and forgiveness and cleansing on the way. Lord help us.

No, it's not a buffet that you can pick and choose yet nearly every modern Christian I know is taking the Bible to their local country buffet. So many examples, but we can just start with how biblical patriarchy is not even REMOTELY close to our modern understanding of male/female relationships. It's incredible when I hear folks talk about the unchanging nature of God, transliterate their KJV into modern 21st century concepts. Anyone who's taken a foreign language will tell you that there are some things that translate poorly, now add 2000 years of societal difference. What's happening is that knowledge is no longer monopolized by a few. I encourage everyone to not just read the scriptures but to study it; study the entire context; study the entirety of the messages and attempt to understand the word and the oracle from which the word comes. I'm willing to bet many who claim they "know" spend more time watching Empire than their combined time committed studying the book they claim is the most important topic of their lives. Okay getting off my box.

The problem is people don't want real truth. They don't want to be held accountable for their sins and deal with their issues. They just want lullabies and water-downed messages. We as believers have to be honest and responsible for our own walk outside of the traditional church service. It's called a daily walk for a reason. Prayer, discernment, Holy Spirit, the Word, and a willing spirit to receive truth no matter how hard it is. This is why many young people won't go to a church because of the facades and Hollywood attitudes. It's sad.
I'll just pray for him. I won't say anything negative! Mehta I will say is that God has given this young man an amazing gift of music amid Im sad to see him NOT using them for God. I grew up listening to his music.
It is a good and true saying. And that's why the true nature of God is initially foreign to us. Our flesh can't comprehend the things of the spirit. But God challenges us to taste and see how God He is. To leave a raggedy church doesn't mean you forsake a living God.

I totally agree with what he's saying, I've been to over 50 churches in my life time, & still never felt that close with god, but when I left I felt closer to god, I start praying everyday, I saw the world for what it truly was, I started getting visions, and I started going to bible studies instead, I just felt better I mean everyone is different, some people need church.

I don't believe in the bible but if it was a book actually based on people's encounters and relationships with god do you honestly believe that they could document every single person who has and what their life was like before, during and after their interaction with god? The bible we have today has been drastically cut from its original form and ordinary men decided what belonged and didn't belong in the good book. Do you trust those men? Do you know them? Are prepared to say that those men were ordained even though you have no idea what they were? My own research has led me not to put my faith and trust in the good book. @@tmoney11271 as much as I have always agreed, I looked at what Paul (human) described in Romans 1, and those who didn't retain God in their knowledge but there are so many who give more glory than an entire church. 2) I looked at the abominations and realize that we don't abide by all the abominations and that we all would be abominable and damned . 3) Jesus said nothing against same gender love. 4) According to our bible, God made all things including Evil. 5)

It so good to see that he still has a desire to know God. Thank you Jesus. There are many who have seen so much confusion and legalism and have been victims of abuse to the point it has made them totally renounce God and his entire existence. And it is necessary that they find God outside of that environment for a season because their view of God has been so intertwined with their view of the people in church that they have to have an one on one encounter with God like Paul on the Road to Damascus and to see God as he truly is, that he loves them and that he desires Good and not evil against them and that he is not like man.. It seems that he is on a journey to find God for himself outside of man. He is hurting and trying to find his way, let's keep him in prayer, he is so precious to God.

Robert Andrews What is the real truth? This is the type of stuff that bothers me. No one perfect. The real difference between him and me (and you) is...His imperfections have be made public. To their point, the church pretends to be perfect and condemds anyone who publicly has shown their imperfections. If we are honest with ourselves we can truly start loving people as God has taught us to. Without judgement and with understanding that although imperfect, everyone has the Love of the father.
This conversation between B Slade (Tonex) and Darlene McCoy was so thought-provoking! It really got a lot of people in the comments section "turnt up! LOL! What stands out for me, though, is his honesty, and sincerity regarding the local church and its affect on its attendees. So much has happened down through the years to challenge the church in being more cognizant of its approach to true ministry. We can no longer pretend or hide before the world in our beautiful cathedrals and saintly apparel. They see us, because we show ourselves to them daily. However, they are looking for authenticity in our message AND in our lives. Unfortunately, we (yes, I include myself) do not always represent this well. As a result, many have lost hope, faith and their pursuit of truth which can only be found in Jesus. This interview makes me want to be a better representation of the God who lives within me, and of the love He shows to us all. There is no doubt in my mind that this young man loves God and is in pursuit of God's truth for his life. Shouldn't we all be doing this daily? It takes a lot to be honest with yourself (whew!), and then with God. B Slade has taken the time to do this, and I believe God honors this, and will show Himself to him as he continues to seek Him. God wants us ALL to KNOW Him!

I was going to come on here and rant, but its enough mature saved people who will come to the defense of what the Word of God says that I need'nt repeat what has already been so well said. Thank you Holy people of God Washed in the Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ for being of a variety of different statures and seasons in our sanctification but still being able to detect leaven when you see it. Some people are not praying to God to lead them to a proper bible believing church. They look for there desires to be met rather than looking for Gods truth. There are biblical churches. But most of them are teaching false doctrines. Got to get your foundations straight! Then no body can fool you black people always follow they feelings that's a no no. Or they go other direction too much teaching like seminary big words pastors pontificating flossing their education to make you feel like they're elite. phd, MBA, etc.... We need spirit of God with live, compassion, education,wisdom and since. Wake up black people! Pray Pray, Pray first.
Idk I just feel like this is mockery of God and all the extra illustrated commentary is not necessary to make a point. I’m a new Christian beginning my walk with Christ and am an ex lesbian but I have gave up most of all my bad sins to walk this path and am still walking. This is just discouraging to people who want to grow close to him, to see people who boast and are content with their sin trying to lead us. Great conversation! Millennials are engaging in these conversations everyday. That's why church is losing it's relevance. Done with the day of just believing what someone TOLD you. Generations are breaking out of "paralysis of analysis" and finding their authentic TRUTH.

If God wanted life to be perfect he probably wouldn’t have made us at all. God is a god of order and freewill, not control. Sometimes the word of the Lord seems contradictory, but its not. You're so right, B, we were raised in the south to believe that if we sinned of broke the old law, we was going to die and go to hell. And the sad thing about it, so many have died believing that. That's why we have to read and study the word for ourselves. Thanks for your honesty!
I know this is an old video, but I think it's NOT about the music the church produces. It's the level of truth the church walks in. As a church dropout, I believe people are abandoning the faith because they're waking up and not blindly following people who regurgitate fallacies. I had to leave church to find God, too. I've learned so much about God and myself since leaving.
The issue is simply this. Let the wheat and tare grow together. Everyone is trying to claim what they know God wants when God told you one thing... By love and by kindness have I drawn thee. Rather than try to criticize me for what you try to call a "lifestyle". Why don't you simply try to love me. Let me work out my own soul salvation and trying to make me fit into how and what you believe the scripture says. What is the will of God concerning Me! No longer am I allowing church people so deep they need a shovel trying to tell me what God wants for me. I am a Gay man created in the image of God. If I am broken, I don't have to live in my brokenness for the simple fact that God's grace is sufficient for me in my brokenness. God said he would make us fishers of men... he didn't tell us to clean the fish! I am Gay and I am ok and God's plan for me will be his plan and I wouldn't trade my journey for anybody's version of sanctification. You don't have to agree, approve, condone, or accept it. I did what God said.. I came as I am and did what he said. Let everything that has breath, praise him. The reason preachers and people of God are against acts and of being homosexual is because Gods word says those people will not inherit the kingdom of God. Other than that yes we are supposed to love everyone, but not everyone ways. Why would God destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. ans not judge us. That wouldn't be fair. It wasnt meant to be. If it was there wouldn't be me or you. It takes male and female to make a child. Sin I already JUDGED...so those who carry the gospel must preach under the anointing of God because man's heart cannot be convicted of the sin they are living comfortably in, without it.

We are to keep ourselves clean so that no one will feel the need to "judge or correct us." If one does not want judgement the individual need to live a life that his/her good will not be spoken bad of ( this is the word). You can not decide how Gods word is to apply for you are not him. People normally knows when they are doing wrong. If the person is not able to see it then maybe he or she is a reprobate. Which is a sad state to exist in. Out of love you pull people up on there mess so that their soul is not lost. Call judgement if you like but awareness is better than eternal death.

BUT IN REALITY A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY BUT THEIR HOUSE IS UNCLEAN, UNCLEAR, AND MESSY AND I WANT TO BE ABLE TO SEE ALL THAT I NEED TO IN ORDER FOR MY LIFE TO MOVE ON. Do you know the origins of the book that you say is the word of God? Do you know that this was the only book that taught to slaves? Do you know that things are lost in translation and that the bible has been translated more than 50 times by various people who were given authority to translate it and that authoritative figure was not god?
Tonex I have ALWAYS loved and supported you behind the scenes. I used to be a road manager of some popular gospel artist (I worked for Faith Management) while you were still singing gospel. And yesssssssss it was totally clear what the deal was with you and MANY others. It wasn't until you got honest with yourself and others that it became a "problem". Thats just the self righteous, judgemental "Christian Way". Listen I'm an androgenous male and I have had the EXACT same experience in both the Christian and LGBT Community. That's why I relate to you so much. I've spent the last decade getting closer to myself and God and omg the freedom is UNEXPLAINED! Because of religion I was taught to literally hate who I am how God created me. Today I am so comfortable in my own skin. My relationship with God is so so REAL and personal. I'm now to the point where I can have compassion for those who ridicule me simply because they don't understand.
You do have permission to find out what works for you BUT it has to be by seeking God; under His divine plan for you. I had a period where I didn't attend regularly bc I had just gone through a period of major grief, but I stayed in my word and connected to saved folks who blessed me, then one day the Lord said go back.
With all due respect, you can't say "you have permission to find out what works for you..." and in the same sentence say "but it HAS to be by seeking God under His divine plan for you". No one knows His divine plan for either of us and finding out what works for us is ultimately all part of His plan since He already knows the outcome. What may work for you may not work for me, and vice-versa.
J'Fuzion™ good day. I urge you to retread my comment. I didn't say anything contradictory. If we're seeking God for His plan, why wouldn't it be under His guidance and wisdom? He is the best source of knowledge and wisdom to find out what works for us b/c He created us. I don't see the issue. We either want His plan or we don't. We have people that are secretly watching porn...committing adultery....known liars......women that are having babies out of wedlock.....men impregnating women out of wedlock....those that are following horoscopes and sorcery...that are openly speaking on the power of GOD....GOD can use anything and anyone to speak on the power of GOD. Who are the unclean and unholy to speak to what GOD can and cannot do? When people start to examine their true "holiness" and not what they want to world to see.....then they'll see that your secret sins are no better than the ones of someone else that's known.

I'm not okaying his lifestyle, and I know him because he's from my hometown; but what I am saying is there is not a single soul roaming this earth that is perfect. He may be in a valley part of his life right now, but he knows God, and the power of God. We Christians become so judgemental that we miss the mark, forgetting God can use anyone he wants to deliver his message. A drunk lady told me (while I was sitting in a night club) I didn't belong in the club, I needed to be in church; never saw this lady before in my life, but she knew I came up in church.... And after that day, I took my behind right back to my dad's church. At that moment God used that lady to get to me, but the way you are talking makes it seem like God doesn't have the power to do that.
These two are what's wrong with the church. Just create a convenient Christianity that fits YOUR current lifestyle at the end of the day?. Choir aint got nothing to do with the decline in attendance and the church. Pastors have failed in teaching the word in spirit and in TRUTH!!! MyTtime wait...let's be honest. a building with imperfect people in it is not going to get you to haven either. The issue with church is our churches are not teaching relationship with God. Churches are teaching religion (doing same reglious ceremony over and over). Imagine if all your pastor's sins were on the internet. Would you still follow your pastor?
People of God... Hell is real... Christ took me there simply for entertaining the thought of sleeping with a married woman... I tell you this with all due certainty... Tonex and everyone in that lifestyle that continues refuse to turn from that sin and Repent to God will inhabit Hell... No if's, but's, and exception period...
I think it's deeper than thus whole concept regarding that "lifesyle" especially pertaining to Apostle Paul's words in Romans 1. What if Tonex and others in the lifestyle Retains God in their knowledge and continue to Glorify God as God how would God give them over to vial affections and a reprobate mind? Then to consider that God made all things including Satan and evil according to the word we read and quote. This ain't to twist the word but to go on facts of what it says. Describe everything about God and consider why and how he made us.

Wow! I'm loving this testimony. All of us have to take different paths in order to come face to face with God. Moses when into Pharaoh's house and ended up in the wilderness to find God. I praise God that Tonex has come face to face with God based on a relationship he has with God and not just on what he was being told by others. He's come to know God in a very real way.
Lord have mercy. Someone articulated what I have been thinking. My friend sent me this video after we had a similar conversation about the condition of the church and B. Slade is really speaking the truth.
Wrong understanding of God. Wrong understanding of Jesus. Wrong understanding of the church. Wrong understanding of worship. Wrong understanding of the calling to be a pastor. I'm only halfway through.

I love Tonex and his call & gift to the Body of Christ. I think the problem with the church, especially the "black church", is that for a long time people have sought personalities and experiences instead an obedient relationship with truth. Even Pilate had his version of truth. God be with us all.
