Thanks for taking one for the team Matthew. Last stayed at Circus Circus 24 years ago but we stayed in the tower facing Adventuredome (it had another name. Think it was Grand Slam Canyon). We almost ended up in the manor but we upgraded. It was bad back then too. The tower rooms were much better but not sure how they are now. Before Resorts World it was Stardust. We stayed there and visited Westward Ho (long gone), Slots A Fun and Circus Circus along with Riviera (also long gone). Slots A Fun had a dump of a snack bar in the front but they had free popcorn and the best burgers and chicken tenders! Ate there so many times. It was cheap and delicious. Miss those days. You could eat alot for little money.
Matthew took a $75 gamble by booking Circus Circus and ended up with a $250 slot win. Not too shabby if you're factoring in the comped night at Fountainbleu.
Stayed there many times years ago with my daughter and grand kids.By the buffet is where i won a hand pay $1669.00 on 20 cents bet on my 4th hit i hit the mega. Put a homeless family with two small babies up that night they were trying to get back to Washington D.C. they got a room at the Manor. And the lady at front desk back then was rude AF when i told her the room was for them not me she kept saying i need to show her my I.D even though i paid cash .To that family I just hope they are doing well now in life.
A solid video and fair review. As someone that owns property in Vegas and has being coming to Vegas for nearly 40 years- I can tell you that Circus Circus is not for everybody. It’s intended to be a budget friendly hotel for Vegas visitors that have kids. The food options match the demographics-a lot of fast food, fast casual options. The steakhouse is arguably their only upscale option. Their pool area was basically a water park, they have the midway area, the have the adventuredome- all of these can cater to families. Nobody that is going to Circus Circus is looking for any type or sort of luxury. It’s an inexpensive place to stay where you can comfortably bring kids-which is not the easiest thing to do in Vegas. For $75 all in--that was not a terrible room. Lastly-the two kids you asked about Circus Circus said that they loved it. Thats the intention of the property.
If I paid $76, I would have stayed, but I likely would never book here anyway. If it was still an MGM Property I might stay there, but there's no upside to staying there now! The Manor looks a lot better than when I saw videos a few years ago. Visible roaches at night, signs of rodents, druggies (what the low information call homeless) roaming all over outside, so this looks tons better! I don’t mind scuffed or dinged furniture, especially when you have clientele that don't take care of anything! I stay occasionally at Buffalo Bill's for $29 resort fee and have never had any problems. I stay at comped Dirty Castle too, with no major issues!
I stayed there back in 2018 or 2019 and it wasn't called anything other than just a Circus Circus room. It was the worst room I've ever stayed in Las Vegas. There was no walkway to those rooms back then other than going outside.
On the plus side of the manor rooms, you can park close to your room and the cost is cheap. I stayed in the manor and it was not bad; but that was in 1980.
Circus Circus still looking good, but you say it smells it probably needs maintenance and it needs to be sanitized.everyone is going to prefer the newer casinos
At least you had furniture. LOL, my suitcase was my dresser over at the Gold Spike in 2011. The room was smaller and dirtier, the tub backed up, and no one changed the sheets during my weeklong stay. And the mattress was very brown! Good times.
Matthew going to Adventure Dome is like Clark Griswald going to Wally World. The $2 food is awesome. Not too sure about that motel room? RIP buffet, pool, and pizza.
I stayed in the tower on my first ever trip to Vegas, back when the Sahara still had the rollercoaster. It was nice being close to that back then! I'm glad it was the first place I'd stayed because if I had been anywhere else I would have been so disappointed. I didn't know what I was missing with it being the first visit. We usually stay at the Cosmo now though!
Been going to Vegas for more then 30 years now use to always stay at the cheap places . was never in the room long enough. The good old days $500 or less for a vacation air, hotel, food, show, and gamble.
We visited Circus Circus and the Adventure Dome in June 2024 for 3-4 hours. It was cool to see this old Vegas property. My son had fun at the Midway, but I never would stay there. Interesting experience: I was on my way to the Adventure dome and went by the "grab the money"-machine. The guy there tried to lure me in to play, but I refused. Suddenly he startet screaming at me: "Go back to the 90ies you cheap bastard! Asshole!" 😂
I've stayed in the West Tower three times (July 2023, May 2024 and end of July beginning of August 2024). I like the place except for two things: 1). The toilet paper is like sandpaper. 2). The rooms don't have carpets. ALL THE BEST ROCKER ROB
1 thing you really didn't cover was How crazy the place can be on like a friday or Saturday night with all of the people Coming in from the LA area with their Teenage kids staying somewhere cheap. The hordes of kids get somewhat obnoxious and I don't just mean being loud and running around in the adventure dome, I mean Being little thugs!
I had friends who used to love the Manor Rooms at Circus Circus. Now that was 30 years ago. So don't know how much has changed since their time. Probably nothing has changed that's why it's so dreary!
My Dad used to do business trips to Vegas in the late '80 early 90's. His boss always put them up at Circus Circus, which he said at the time was pretty cheap. Lol- I'm sure if my father had a comp at Fontainebleau he would have used it too.
My friend booked one of those rooms by mistake. The woman at front desk said no way will i put you out there and gave her a tower room. She said it was still nasty and checked out next day.
I stayed in the Skyrise Tower a few years ago. The room was recently renovated so it wasn't too bad especially for the price. Had a decent experience on the Circus Circus property and would probably stay in one of those rooms again. Wouldn't do the Manor Lodge based on reviews and what you showed.
I'd rather not travel or go on vacation then stay in a manor room. I think Motel 6 would be a better option. At least motel 6, the rooms are renovated and clean and you can park right in from of your room. it's cool that the midway today still looks like it did 40 years ago when I would go a lot as a young kid, and that it's basically unchanged and well maintained.
Visited Circus Circus when we were in Las Vegas 20 years ago. Didn't stay or eat there, just wanted to see what it was like since we visited Circus Circus, Silver Legacy, and Eldorado in Reno quite often. Was not impressed...and that was before all these other glamourous casinos opened.
Every time I go to Vegas, I think to myself "Surely CC is going to be displaying 'closing soon' signs all over" and yet, here we are. I just do not understand how it stays open. There's literally nothing redeeming about it, it old, it's dirty, it's dangerous at night, there's practically nobody ever there, it's falling apart. I just don't get it.
It’s one of the most profitable properties on the strip. The Fontainebleau is losing money like crazy. Don’t let appearances fool you into thinking there is a correlation between them and profitability.
Such a funny video my friend 😂 I’ve walked past circus circus and felt scared just looking at it! Coming from the UK we only get to vegas once a year so we make sure we book a suite at bellagio for our 10 days. Love the vids
No joke, I hadn't been to vegas in years, i drove up about 2 years ago, bounced around different hotels to play at their casinos. I thought to myself, man, this has been a nice trip, no drama, nothing.. Low and behold, I stop at circus circus, literally 60 seconds after I go in a side door, and sit down at a slot machine, this panhandler comes by asking for money.... Then about 5 minutes after that, right behind me, I hear some dude yell "What? Man, say that to my face, I'll kick your A!!!" So I turn around, and this gangbanger wannabe looking dude is like yelling this back toward some other guy as he's heading toward the exit.... I thought to myself, yep, good ol' Circus Circus....
I get it, this hotel is for families and people on a budget but if I couldn't afford to stay at a nice hotel in Vegas, I won't go to Vegas. I'll never stay at Circus Circus. 😂
I stayed in the Manor long time ago. It was terrible, the only good thing was meeting Michael Jackson at the entrance, he was going to ride on one of the pirate ships that was being delivered to the TI. It was like 3:00 in the morning and the truck went right down the strip!
Hey Matthew, it’s Michelle Dixie. I know you remember me from the early days when we used to chat lol but I live in Las Vegas now so I would love to go to dinner with you sometime. Please let me know if you’d like to do that :-)
This does help you appreciate the nicer rooms Vegas can offer though. I stayed at MGM earlier this year, and I usually stay at Aria. It made me really appreciate the comped rooms I usually get at Aria.
I went to Circus Circus on my first trip to Vegas in 03, mostly because I’m a James Bond fan and they filmed one of the movies in Circus Circus. I doubt I’ll go back, lol
I love both the Polo Towers and Jockey Club. Both are very old and the rooms/style show their age--but I don’t go to Vegas looking for luxury. I go for fun and for comfort. The Jockey club and the Polo towers with the kitchens/refrigerators in the room make it so easy to stock up on alcohol and food and start the party with friends before going out. The closets in the rooms at the Jockey Club might be the largest that I’ve seen in any standard room in Vegas-even in the luxury hotels.
I believe the Manor (motor manor ) is for very budget travelers maybe with campers to park and have a night with a room and real bathroom for a night or two. So you can park right by your room like a red roof inn. I bet it caters to workers in town for construction or other projects
Hope you washed your hands! Lol. 20 years ago I was staying across the street at The Riviera and we ate at Circus Buffet. I swear to you they actually had some of the yellow and blue on the buffet. It was the worst! 🤢
I'm sure the rooms here are horrible. But I will say, with as much verbal abuse as this place takes, I was there on a Saturday night a month ago and it was absolutely hopping.....No place to park, casino Packed, Arcade PACKED, adventure dome PACKED. Ppl really shouldn't talk sh*t about a place that they go to lol
lol the dramatics! It’s all economics I guess. Might be a good deal for weekend rates, but most aren’t spoiled with comps from a social media gig dear Matthew. It’s all relative when the cash is coming from your own pocket or if you wanna spend more on gambling. Don’t like slots of fun though.
There is no world in which I live in that I would stay there! 😅 Slots of fun Stinks! I couldn't stay in that place. I had to get back at Cosmo and get a shower. I hope you ran fast to Fontainebleau!
Hi Matthew love watching your videos keep them coming Yes I hate circus circus and I have stayed at those cheap nasty manor rooms. I stayed there for two nights and it was smelly and I got bed bug from staying there. I had to get another room at TI instead. I would never stay there again Matthew please stay at circus circus one of there rooms.
I would never stay at the manor! I've seen too many videos, LOL. Circus, Circus has such a huge footprint, I don't know why they wouldn't just raze the manor and build a new hotel.
Why should circuit Circus change? They’re reaping in 1 millions of dollars daily if not more. The owners are cashing in and they have nothing to prove to anyone anymore. The casino deserves to profit for staying there for decades.
Well it’s not great.. definitely not the Fontainebleau lol… but people in this comment section are being bougie. That room wasn’t that bad. Not like Compton motel 6 bad, or skid row travel lodge bad. And that area of Vegas isn’t scary. There is very little violent crime on the strip anymore. Its mostly poor people trying to break into the millions of unattended cars, and the Manor is specifically unattended, out of the way, and on a back road. You act like you’re going to get murdered and catch a disease… Circus Circus is definitely the worst mega resort on the strip, followed closely by Excalibur, The Flamingo, and Luxor. (I would include Harrah’s, LINQ, and The Strat but they are not mega resort style. Circus Circus is old, and tired, but it isn’t a Biohazard. Personally though, if im on a budget, im choosing The Flamingo. It has an unbeatable location. Rooms in the front tower get incredible views of the Bellagio fountain and Caesar’s palace. Also, now that the Tropicana is gone, it has the best pools on the strip that aren’t 5-star (ie., Fontainebleau, Wynn/Encore, Mandalay Bay, etc). Plus beautiful gardens.
Nope. No way. Even if I had kids and was on a budget, You can stay in a better place and go to the fun places for an afternoon. Gross. Plus, the only time I stayed there, our AC went out at about 4pm and they knocked on the door at 3am to come in and repair it. It took 90 minutes.
Not everyone taste....also best ross store in Vegas across the street...brings in new stock all day...papermill across the street....central to strip and downtown......
The Fontainebleau is on land that was occupied by the hotel/casino El Rancho and a small hotel The Algiers that only had about 100 rooms. The Riviera is now just a parking lot.
They still have physical coin machines? How in the world did these survive Covid? The convenience of ticket machines alone should have made these dinos obsolete.
The only good thing about circus circus is the steakhouse, fucking hard to navigate, the towers at at the very back of the casino, no good table games, entertainment sucks, it stank, we only stayed because it was like $20 a day in February and we were gong to see Metallica
Circus circus is horrible it’s a great hotel that you can’t compare to the billion dollar hotels on the strip it’s budget family friendly and not many hotels can say that
