How Bad is Jimmy Garoppolo Actually? 

You saw it in his body language, no matter what Adams told him, he didn't understand it and couldn't put it into practice. You could see during the conversation that he simply became more nervous and couldn't handle the pressure. The losses created a toxic atmosphere. He comes off really badly and I don't think he should take the blame alone because there was also the genius of McDaniels. I also believe that the hate is sent because many think he was the favorite. But what's coming out now is tough. I mean do you really have to give interviews and be proud of throwing a teammate under the bus, then tell the world he's late to meetings, isn't tough enough and lacks leadership skills is harsh. He was shunned by the entire team and publicly ridiculed after the coaching change. Don't step on someone who is lying on the floor. I go one step further. He had a lot of injuries that burdened him mentally and he should work through them.

I believe that Garoppolo was a decent QB, who was heavily burden by his injuries. He regressed dramatically but was kept afloat by Shanahan's schemes in SF.

His arm is done! As a raiders fan I could not believe how weak his arm looked. He never had a big arm but it wasn't THAT bad in SF. Maybe his foot injury is keeping him from stepping into his throws or something but his balls float now and he going to get WR's hurt.

I think the ACL changed the arc of his career. Before that injury he was not Randal Cunningham but had decent in pocket mobility. After that injury he became a statute. He was never going to be elite but that injury made him mediocre at best.

Was Jimmy good in San Fran or was it coaching and surrounding cast... I believe the latter

Bad, puts his WR's in harms way every play. Can't throw past 10 yards.

My favorite QB, Derek Carr, wasn’t great under JMD. Jimmy G is not even close to Derek Carr in terms of ability but JMD is a cancer.

Jimmy is a cautionary tale as to what happens when the injuries pile up.

9er fan here. He was never the same after his ACL tear. He was already limited in accuracy and arm strength, but losing his mobility was the nail in the coffin.

Saying what u just said "bad decision making /Bad throws" is like me saying if I was just 8 inches taller I would dominat basketball (I am 6'4" & old now ) I actually was alive am watched all Raider wins But in" 76 I was young so I dont really remember thaTt... the Jan81 & Jan 84 superbowls I loved... the 84 team was my favorite team of all time with alzado /long and Lester Hayes Mike Haines Our Defense was so imposing... miss those Days!! mY OPINION of Jimmy is that he was so Over-rated from San Fran & didnt play much at all for N.E. I never thought he was a good QB.. with a really good defense he could and did win close games but it was because of him EVER

Below mediocre backup. Better than Tua but thats a low bar to clear. His stats in San Fran were 100% a function of Kyle Shannahans scheme. Jimmy like Jared Goff can hit digs and crossers and Kyle based the entire offense really around those 2 types of throws. Bad pocket presence, below average arm, below average processor, bad athlete. Accurate on short and intermediate throws , bad on deep throws. Really simply put his physical and mental tools are not good enough. They are not bad but they are not good and it leans towards bad. He was most often a 1 read or 2 read QB in San Fran asked to hit quick, short YAC producing passes which got schemed open. Didn't have to think His release is his greatest asset. The fact that in every efficency stats he is top 10 all time shows you Kyle Shannahan is a top 3 coach in NFL history. Jimmy Garrapolo is a Kyle Orton with a worse deep ball. If you don't have an at least average arm - you not going to be good unless your processing skills are Peyton esque. We seen it with Gardner Minshew and Chad Pennington. No matter how smart you are and how in detail you can know the position - you still need the talent in order to become something. Jimmy simplu didn't have it. Seems like a genuinely nice guy though. Just shows the american dream is possible Earning 148M and still counting while being a crappy QB

He’s one of the worst QBs in the league. He missed two games with injury and still lead the league in interceptions until he was permanently benched.
