I just remember reading he really wanted to go to Florida but he never sent his transcripts to them. Rumor has it he didn’t have the grades and didn’t send his transcripts to any body until right before he committed. Findlay supposedly made a deal with him that if he went to unlv they’d take care of his academics. Honestly I’m not sure if it was a good or bad thing for him. I don’t think playing against the MWC did him any favors in terms of player development. But he wasn’t likely going to be eligible anywhere else. And unlv DID get him picked #1. He probably washes out of the league quick regardless. So in the end he just got paid a whole lot more for the same amount of suck.

Not to hate on you but you made the typical mistake of having hindsight. It's not only you, it's most "sports analysts". You said that Cavs were stacked at guards but still should have taken Oladipo (another guard). In 2009 Minnesota picked 4 guards even though they were already stacked, and people criticize that. Like people use hindsight that something that was done was stupid because now we know better. No one knew in 2013 what Giannis will do, Cavs didn't need another guard.
