Ever wonder how custom felt hats are made? Carlos goes behind the scenes in Denmark to show us how the signature "Old Money" hat is brought to life!
What's special about Hornskov hats you might ask? Beardbrand is proud to announce the new COLLABORATION with Hornskov hats!
This partnership has led to the creation of the "New Money Hat", a signature style compliment to the modern day gentleman.

my dad just passed away, my stepmoms giving me all his hats. i mean Borsalinos, Biltmores, Stetsons, etc... hats since the 80's until a few years ago. I'm beside myself! really sad right now but, i'm just so appreciative of these classic heirlooms!

John Shaft hats from the 80s are not highly sought after it was during this time hat makers cut alot of corners. People really try to find 60s an earlier.

I just got a hat in made by Dirty Biily (Dirty Billys Hats out of Gettysburg, PA) and he is one of the best in the US (imo) when it comes to historical hats especially. I had him make me the "Longstreet Hat" as seen in the movie: "Gettysburg" and I am thrilled w/ it. Now here I am on youtube trying to learn about the trade as I'd like to learn it myself possibly. Funny how when I was young I never knew what I wanted to be when I "grew up" and then the internet came into my life in the year 2000. Now 19 years later and at 47 years old, with my health completely shot I have about 100 different interests and things I wish I did when I was still young and healthy enough to have made a career out of doing them. Funny how life works sometimes. Live your life doing the things you love when you can do them as you never know when those days may end abruptly. Don't grow old and have regrets that you didn't reach for your dreams when you could have made them realities. I learned long ago that money and material crap does not equate to happiness. Surely poverty can bring misery, but the greed of money and covetous of material crap is a waste of a life. Enjoy the finer things when they present themselves but not at the cost of your soul or too much of your precious time that you have on this earth as none of it is worth it in the end. It's better to spend that time stocking-up things that you can actually take with you when you leave this earth.... brotherhood, love, friendships and memories in others minds of how you were always there for them to lend an ear, a hand, or whatever else was needed before they ever had to ask for it. Just my 2 cents of unsolicited advice on life. Not sure why I typed all that... hopefully someone needed to read it someday lol. Great video and channel!

How can a guy live so many decades without knowing much or anything about 'felt'? So, I just watched a couple of videos on how felt is made from the commercial companies to individual felt makers. Much respect is gained for this most useful and universal product.

They spray a light Mist Coat on the Hat and let it burn for 10-30 Seconds then put out the Fire with Steam. This is done with Rabbit Fur Felt too. That's what the Matchstick represents.

Why are you ripping off the trademark of Nick Fouquet by adding a match stick signatory? I'll be letting Nick know about this, assuming he's not already aware. It's a shame because it looks like you make great products, I'm not sure why you'd steal a colleagues trademark in attempt to make those great products seem more appealing.
@markuspj
@markuspj 5 лет назад
You do know that putting a matchstick in a hat goes back to before the great depression right? it was something that everyone did, and it is super distasteful and a disrespekt to all hatters that Nick have put a trademark on it. And this video is old its before he made the trademark.
