Massive thanks to benny blanco for sharing your journey on 'Behind The Wall.' From creating chart-topping hits to now diving into the culinary world with his new cookbook, Open Wide, Benny proves that following your passions can take you anywhere. If you haven’t already, make sure to check out his cookbook. I had to order it myself-just like you saw in the interview, the version he has just has the number to Domino's in it, but trust me, the real one’s packed with actual recipes including a BTS cake! Might have to try to make that one. 🎂❤🔥 Also sign up for our newsletter: magic.beehiiv.com/v1/85d679b7-9db1-4923-85bd-a2463031cd17?email=
Great video! I didn't know much about Benny Blanco and this really shed light on him as a songwriter. I'm curious, what is the documentary you are talking about? I would love to watch it. Thanks!
@@ReinaWanhedaThe Defiant Ones - it’s about the story of Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine - highly recommend it!! it’s actually on tubi or at least that’s how I watched it 😊
@@ReinaWanheda Oh Reina - there's two documentaries we talked about in this - the other is Ed Sheeran's Songwriter which shows Ed writing all the songs for Divide
this interview seemed like a fun convo between 2 people but i really wished he asked kind of the basic hard questions when benny says some crazy shit like "yea i was in the studio with katy perry and snoop dogg at 18." like how'd you do that?
Benny seems like he is GENUINELY the kindest most chill human. I absolutely understand why Selena is head over heels and Benny deserves a good girl like Selena! They’re so cute and he’s an absolute genius!
i dont care for celebrity couples and all that and didnt knew they was dating but i must say thats pretty cool ngl😂 they somehow fit together pretty well idk why haha. I dont know much about Selena though, she seems like one of the better people in the evil business but who knows in the end of the day.
Honestly this comment made my day! My goal as a creator and storyteller is to shine a light on the people behind music, but it's also to provide value to anyone who watches. Thank you so much - so happy!!!!
@@DanielsWallwe can tell and you absolutely brought intrinsic stories and feelings/ vibes out of him. What a compelling interview. Just saved it to its own playlist and subscribed to ALL your uploads dude. Keep up the inspiring work

There is a synchronicity for almost every time stamp too. Coming from a synchronistic girly, this channel and Benny are going much farther than the huge accomplishments they’ve already made. And it’s 2:22 as I post this.
benny is that guy... i learnt how to talk my clients, after watching of video of him talking about being a therapist to his artists...they make the best music then ❤
I think the feeling IS all the little details. You don’t have to be consciously aware of it. But remove it all and the song will not feel the same. It’s like with food. If it’s well seasoned you aren’t going to say, wow that salt level was incredible. Quite the contrary - when you notice the salt or lack of, it’s a problem.
I just wrote a comment saying basically the same thing. People only notice something when it’s wrong. Putting in the effort ensures that they don’t notice
Cant help but notice that Benny is on some sort of script with most of his stories, like word for word from other interviews ive watched. Hes a really inspiring person, but it seems like hes just in character.
Great job, that was some good interviewing. I came here not knowing who this guy was, now he's my benchmark for "good vibes". i get why so many artists would want him in the room with them.
He’s just so nice to hang out with, so sweet how he offers u a hug what a great guy well done for creating your dream to interview him, was a nice evening watching n listening to all the clips mentioned too
My dad worked for 50 years in this industry. He summarized production by saying this : "Whether a sound is right or not or good or not is irrelevant. That's stupid question. Any sound is good if it fits the song. You cannot ever tell whether or not ANY sound is right by soloing it. Ever." If the snare needs to be an apple crunch cuz you think it fits, so be it! There is no "better" sound. That's the beauty of incorporating electronics and pedals and stuff. There is NO objectively "better" sound, VS a classical or jazz recording that has to "hi fi". Phase correlation almost doesn't matter, because our brain don't have a "real" equivalent of a beat or any other electronic piece of music, so it's not weirded out by the phase being off or whatever. There is a lot less engineering going on for us because there is a lot MORE engineering that's been done so what WE can be more free. I think that's beautiful.
i wonder how much of a cut this guy takes for the big hits. if you have a good voice, a good aesthetic, and can pull an audience, get this man to write a song and somehow sing on it and you’re golden
This was a fantastic interview. So glad I got the recommendation in my feed! Benny’s awesome and seems so down to earth. This is the first time that I’ve thought that Benny has a Rick Rubin thing going on after watching this insightful interview. Kudos to this interviewer and this channel which I’m now subscribed to.
You are a very good interviewer, instead of just regurgitating questions you listen to your guests and respond with questions based on their responses. Very good skills that I feel a lot of people do not recognize.
Never go with the internets perception of someone based off of biased opinion. So glad I encountered this interview because he is actually extremely fascinating and eclectic. He just gained a fan.
To hear someone say so many of the things I feel about life and music was so impactful to me. Thank you SO much for this interview Daniel, and a big thank you Benny. I'm inspired right now to start chasing my own dreams.
He's so laid back, like he's not a talented artist/writer/producer and success just fell in his lap. I wish I had thar type of talent for anything. The be the best at something and think it just happened over and over from luck is a gift. Maybe that's why he is so down to earth with all this success
Superb interview! So glad i got a small glimpse into Bennys world, before today I had only heard his name here and there. Benny vibrates at a high frequency attracting others on the same vibe!!
Owww It's so nice to see where you started and where you are today ! Very cool chat and genuinely so sweet to watch ;) Ed was mentionned so many times in this, that you have to get him on next ! Keep going, this is inspiring too!
Sheeriotalk, your comment means the world - Thank you so much for checking it out and saying this!! I'd love to chat with Ed at some point - been a fan of him since the plus era and would love to talk with him about his story
This is the first video of yours i see and everyone is (rightfully so) praising benny for well being benny, but you are an amazing interviewer, you really connect with the interviewee and you facilitate a very chill casual vibe while also still having solidly done your research on your subject. Amazing king!
Daniel, I echo everyone else's comments, you're a fantastic interviewer/conversationalist, so cool to witness your continued growth, again this is absolutely insane! stoked for you dude - Trey
Algorithms did an algorithmic thing! So glad I stumbled upon this - beautiful chat, with a couple of beautiful individuals :D Subscribed now and can't wait to see what else you get up to Daniel, way to go! 👏
Wooow you have interview probably the 4th most iconic songwriters of our generation...incredible! Benny seems like a nice guy besides super talented with all the songs he has been part of...and your interviews are so relaxed and it gives you the feel that you've known them forever...keep the hard work ❤
Thank you for putting these videos together Daniel. I’ve always dreamed about creating music, but the entire process seemed so far fetched and unrealistic. Thank you for inspiring a long dormant dream of mine. Keep it up! Love these videos I keep seeing shorts I’ve just discovered the full interviews
They care. They just don't know what it is they're caring about. Building the song and agonizing over the details is what creates the overall sound that gives the listener those feelings. They just don't know why.
1:59 the way he whispers “cook” as in disbelief 😂😂😂😂 I got his cooking book it’s actually pretty good. I made that banana pudding. We finished it in a day. ❤❤❤❤
Thank you for making these, they’re so inspiring and insightful. And you’re so good at what you do, you make me feel like I’m there with two friends and one of them has some crazy stories to share.
Fantastic interview end to end. So glad to have found your channel in my feed. I absolutely love to hear artists & creatives talk about their art and process.
So we still don’t know exactly how he got started writing Britney Spears songs at 18 not knowing what he was doing. Totally skipped over how he got into it.
We just wanted to say that we really enjoyed watching the video, thank you so much for the interview. It was very interesting and educational to learn all about the artist and his journey too!
It's so awesome to see the process of these amazing producers and song writers, to see how they've made so much music and how they still cherish every single one. Hopefully some of us make it there.
such a beautiful inteview. every question flowed into thought out answer with sincerity. kept me engaged the whole time and brought me so much satisfaction. thank you both
tbh this is god tier content. anyone that has produced or engineered anything real has learned the general listener doesnt give a single f*ck about the extra things we do. just make a banger with some feels. this is how nerds like this get massive credits.
That’s a good point in the beginning of the interview.. that inspires me to pay attention to more so the feeling of everything instead of obsessing or “ocd”ing about one single or even multiple aspects of the music. It all comes back to that before we became musicians.. the feeling of the music that inspired us to do this
Amazing interview. I’m also a writer and an artist and I relate sooo much to a lot of what Benny is saying. Great questions and flow in the conversation. Much love from Sweden 🇸🇪
damn man, he’s so down to earth and a genuine guy. everything he said resonates so hard as a producer. especially when he talked about the tiny minor details which we agonize over just for them to not be noticed by the listeners
I just found your channel and this happened to be the first interview I watched Subscribed bc your thank you note and picture was so sweet and thoughtful and just tied up your impressive interview skills so nicely! Two great humans restoring my faith in humanity 🤗
