To promote blatant false personality of power figures IS self delusion, as Miss Midler's case demonstrates. It is as dangerous as " evil"-- itself, as our mass media has shown clearly by promoting tyranny. An appearance with Oprah for Bette IS NOT in my view, an authentic voice or solution for use of her gifts. Perhaps authentic is being cruel to certain dangerous elements overwhelming our species , as so many Hollywood personalities have failed to observe in their anti Trump shallow consensus. While Obama gets his payoff, Biden creates the Anti Human archetype of TRULY CRUEL results by staggering Incompetence. Our technology of mindless corporations continue to give birth to greater horrors and international consequence. We must stop this misdirection of causality and pathetic lack of reasoning. We must act with A VALID SINCERE KINDNESS , BEGINNING WITH OUR DISTORTIONS OF MEANINGS OF WORDS AND ACCEPTING RULE BY CRIMINAL ACTION.

That movie, to this day, remains my favourite movie. Yes, it's a serious tear-jerker :-) And that was when I fell in love with Bette.

Obviously, the image you are referring to would be Bette as a mermaid, those many years ago. It is an iconic image like Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's or Marilyn Monroe in The Seven Year Itch. Is that the type of nostalgia you observe in her adherents? Bette is a timeless joy in her work or just as a person. I am sorry if you aren't feeling that in this video or seeing it reflected in the comments.
