Personally from what Max has said on social media (twitter, instagram stories etc) I'm pretty sure the second Max was cleared to be back at the gym he was. He has probably gained a few pounds from sitting around letting his ankle heel but he will of at least had a 1/2 week quick refresher before this last week before the fight.

We have never seen Max at his full potential because nobody has made him bring it out, since he has gotten better after losing to Conor. So he has a level to his game that we will definitely see against Khabib, if he can stay up and push the pace with his striking. I can't count him out because of that.

Although it's still bizarre that Max would request the fight at 170. He stands to lose little, other than his lengthy win streak, as he presumably goes right back to defend the 145 lb title against Ortega, win or lose. But on the odd chance that he actually beats Nurmagomedov (+365 underdog, Khabib -505 favorite), if the fight took place at 155, that makes Max the current Champ Champ 145/155. Why wouldn't he want that?

The thing that made the fight a must see with Tony, is Tony's ability to be dangerous off his back, that could've possibly neutralized Khabib. I'm not sure if Max is skilled off his back, but I'm sure he isn't as good as Tony. He better be or he is in trouble. From what I've seen his takedown defense is amazing, but Khabib is on another level on grappling.

It's pretty well known between fights max gets up close to 180. Usually at least 170 then he cuts slowly through camp. He is also coming off injury didn't have a fight till summer so he wasn't in camp.

The thing about this injury, and every injury like it, I AM NOT A DR, nor a fighter nor trainer or nurse, I these freak injuries occur when there’s a pre existing tear or similar problem that hasn’t been bad enough to be noticed, then bang, you pick up a grocery bag and your arm falls off of you comb your air and you eye balls fall out

Max is probably cutting like 30 lbs at least. I don't think he makes 155 tbh, which sucks for Khabib because the Commission in New York will probably call off the fight.

UnknownAssassin310 if he doesn’t make weight the fight doesn’t get called off he just doesn’t get a chance to win the belt so if he wins over weight no one has belt and Tony would keep his intern belt and probably fight Max when he comes back for the title of Khabib wins he’s champ. Conor is for sure getting stripped when lunch is thrown since it is a title fight.

I wish max all the best though, i want an even fight, especially given how excited I was for Ferguson bs khabib and how even that could’ve been, it’s just looking at khabib he’s never doing anything that technical, he just seems to be able to clamp onto guys like a vice, and you need strength to break that grip, to stabilise when pushed, skill is vital in all grounded positions but being strong really helps also, from side control if someone is smaller than me I can bench press them off, it’s not fancy but it works

It’s an easy fight for Khabib. Khabib Deserves to be a champion. Max will be respected as one of the best fighters in the game that’s the reason why he’s taking the fight. It’s about MAX legacy And if he wins it sent to him on another level. But if he loses he still didn’t lose any respect for nobody it’s a win-win for Max. And he will gain more respect and become a better fighter after fighting khabib

Max Holloway is a huge 145er. His walking around weight is prob like 165-170 so it was just either to just fight at 170 rather than a sizable cut in 1 week.

Im going to guess he was walking around 185ish. During a full camp he could get down to 160 and then cut the remainder to 145. 6 days will be tough even to 155. Im guessing. Rooting for max on this one.

Size isn’t always the hugest factor, but against khabib I think you need to match his strength to some degree, khabib seems really physically strong and really knows how to use it

D Money obviously lol but when they cut weight they get most of it back they do a water loss method where they drink 2 gallons 5 days before, 1 gallon 4 and 3 days before, 2 liters 2 days before and the last day barely any also eating barely any carbs and low calories so by the end they lose all that weight in 5 days and then after weigh in they rehydrate and eat and get most of that weight back so if they cut like 25 pounds they’re gaining about 20 pounds back. Very little fighters walk in the cage at the weight they’re suppose to be lol
