In regard to repetitive gameplay. Try... - Not to use sync shot as a crutch. - Bumping up the difficulty. - Turning off HUD elements. - Being creative on how you tackle missions/objectives. It is what make of it really.
An Indapendent exactly. I play with everything off and it's a bitch. having to listen for footsteps and really paying attention to your surroundings. I love it on extreme difficulty.
The first three of those suggestions would still result in repetition; they just make everything harder and longer. It's a game where you attack/handle groups of AI over and over.
rebell missions aren´t the only missions dude. ive been playing for a while and even rebell missions don´t get boring. it is repetitive, but it´s not like it makes the game suck. but can you give me an example on how they could have changed the missions so it wouldn´t be repetitive in this type of game...
It would be nice have customization for our AI Ghost members. The map looks really big and it's very beautiful. I'm glad Ubisoft made this kind of game
You can fit 3 GTA (land) maps into Wildlands. you can also fit the whole division map into the starting section of Wildlands. so it shows you the map is huge.
farming simulator 2017 is the biggest open world ever created!! it took me 1minutes to get from one end of the town to the other end at 40kmh in a tractor.
Its bugging me that everyone says this game is repetitive ! All games are repetitive! Call of duty. Tekken . Gran turismo . Assasins creed . Maybe few arent such as adventure games
This map is so beautiful. I was in Inca Camina in the bottom left of the map up on the peak of the snow topped mountain, and my breath was just taken away. Like you said, this map offers so many different environments in plants, terrain, and weather. I've noticed it rains more in some provinces than in others. The PVP is going to benefit so much from this. I think this map would also be amazing for a Battle Royale/H1Z1 King of the Kill/Battlegrounds game mode. You said the size of the map is around 400 kilometers squared? KotK's map is only 64...
Really have been enjoying this game. Been playing it for 10 hours now. I recommend it to anybody who wants to play a realistic tactical shooter based on a possible situation.
I must say that this is the most beautiful looking game I have ever played, and Yes! I have played whatever game you'll ask me if I've played it. If you're looking afar and you're seeing the scenery, it looks photorealistic in a 4K resolution, it's stunning! I think this game (as with Crysis 1) is a milestone in which graphics will become much better.
GRW is one of my favorite games. While I could understand the 'repetition' criticism levied against this game, I found the sandbox method of approaching the problems refreshing overall.
Ubisoft has described it as one of the biggest open world games that they have ever published, with the game world including a wide variety of environments such as mountains, forests, deserts and salt flats. bro thats what ubisoft have said . where do you see action word ???
I like how he tour guides and dodges missiles. So we have a beautiful mtn to the right (dodges missile), then if you look to the left we have a squirrel taking a dump (dodge missle). All in a normal voice.
I've said this in other posts. This game needs a big PVP mode with three armies battling over the resources of the map (weapons, food for the locals, money etc). Draw in the battles like in Arma/Dayz Epoch. Some basic base building, take over a mansion and hire NPCs to guard it when you're not in the game (clash of clans/MGS). Ubisoft could bank even more on this game if they did that, I'm no fan of micro transactions, but with something like this I'm willing to spend extra.
Is this literally Ubisoft's version of Just Cause? My favourite open worlds? Los Santos & Blaine County; Liberty City; San Andrea; San Francisco; Chicago; New Bordeaux; Empire Bay; Lost Heaven; Miami; Nice; Istanbul; Medici; Panau; Motornation; Ibiza; Hawaii. Love them all for what they are. Ubisoft's Open worlds are getting really good; San Francisco is my favourite open world so far I think. I enjoy Just Cause, so I think I will try this game.
I thought GTA V had great combat and gunplay, which was a first for a GTA game. And I think I'm okay with Wildlands being repetitive, although I hope it's not. MGS V was pretty repetitive yet I loved it because sneaking around and infiltrating enemy bases was super tense and exciting.
I have only been back gaming a little while. For many years I didn't have or need the hardware for something that I may only play once or twice a week, so I stuck with old school, less resource hungry stuff. GTA 4 was boring for me because I went into it with a car racing mindset and wasn't into the whole 'immersion' thing. I really wanted to play Crysis, but never had the hardware. Now I do. Anyway, about 2 months ago I got into Crysis (yep, the original) and then found Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts which I whipped through and now am sorting out the special bonus challenges. Okay, back to Wildlands. I've had this for 5 days and have finished one sector and a little in others (I play solo). Problem is, I try to restrict myself to an hour or two of game time but end up playing for 6 hours at a time because half the time I'm exploring the countryside in buggies or helicopters. Great fun, but a huge distraction.
It takes me around 2 minutes to fly a helicopter across the map, thus Wildland map is massive 🔥. Also, your ability to judge upcoming missiles is purely professional 😆
GTA5 is still the king but unless you're playing Ghost Recon w/3 friends, no HUD & hard mode then you're not getting the best of the game. You're correct in it being a little dull solo play tho. When you're with friends, trying to learn how to communicate best, move as a team, etc. is where it's at. Also playing w/no HUD will totally change the way you play the game.
It's funny looking at this video in the Summer of 2020 how much has changed in this game. I still play it everyday and a lot of fixes were made since you played this back than, BUT yeah the Receptiveness can be over come by playing on Ghost mode or extreme diff. plus you can turn off the Ai now as well. I NOW wish they could comeback to it and add some of Ghost Recon Breakpoint's mechanics, healing yourself and carrying of bodies and hiding them. Editing the Ai weapons etc.
The map is very impressive, especially if you prefer to be on foot and my favorite open world games are: RDR2, GRW, AC Origins, Far Cry 5, AC black flag...etc
The distances are all screwy in GRW. Bullet drop on an enemy at 200m is around 0.5m. That should not happen. 200m is practically spitting distance. With a sniper round travelling at several thousand feet per second the bullet would cover the space of 200m before any drop would be evident. I said during the Beta testing that they needed to multiply all distances in the game by a factor of 10. So 2km would be about right for a huge drop in projectiles. A simple test I did was to place a marker at one end of a town while I stood at the other. I got a measured distance of under 100m. Not even close to possible.
This is what i dont understand about open world games 400km2 is bloody enormous in games but IRL its about 100km2 smaller than one of the smallest cities in New Zealand and even by bus that doesnt take long to traverse.
Just don't use that Sync shot that much. I use it more in the beginning, when I clear out the perimeter and towers with a sniper rifle. Then I like to infiltrate and make it CQB, remaining most of the time stealth. Sometimes things go wild, tho. 20+ hours and I'm having constant non-stop fun.
That's why you turn off your hud and don't sync shot unless totally necessary in solo. And with friends you can really have certain rolls. One or two guys be a sniper from different angles. One or two guys search for objective. One watch their back in close. But yes it is a bit repetitive but you can turn the game in to all out battles buy not going stealth and calling in the rebels as back up
Totaro17 I usually love the way you dont have to just ambush every mission like other campaigns/story modes in other games. I like the feel that if you mess one thing up you can end up having the unidad patrol, the alarms going off, having helicopters (both Santa Blanca's and Unidad's) Its not like other games like "oh an enemy, easy kill" sometimes it can be hard to kill them or easy to do so. Another thing is you can have many options to play a mission and finish it like Ambush option, Stealth option, or anything else really. Unlike other games where you have only 1 option and thats all there is to it.
criticalplayer the kiowa the small choppers with dual mini guns run out of ammo. Rockets take too long to fire but the mini gun ammo does run out on all choppers since the new flight controls. Rockets like I said takes too long to fire and reload to fire again so idk when they run out.
World of Warcraft has the largest world. Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, Outland, Northrend, Pandaria, Draenor, Legion. All unique continents filled with diverse content.
i prefer jc2 map as similarly to ghost recon wildlands it has a variety of environments jc3 is just a static Mediterranean setting nothing radical or special really IMO
Unlike GTA V I actually love the side activities in this (I remember tennis in GTA....just why?) and all the side missions and even the collectibles in Ghost Recon are narratively justified so the player has a legit motivation to do them. Witcher 3 is the best RPG map to me....and I loved Red Dead Redemption's open world as (as in Wildlands here) the side activities made sense within the context of your character and story etc.
SolidSneakNinja if you look at gtaV the game isn't made to be serious abd then you look at red dead redemption and the sidequests are good because the game is suposed to be serious
You can have a massive map like this but in a way its kinda empty. Yea theres alot of outposts, and sidequests to do, but when i mean empty I mean, not that many villages/residential areas, and buildings and structres, something the Far Cry games lack. Theres just TOO much empty space here, atleast in games such Assassins Creed, GTA V (los santos part) and Watch Dogs you don't have massive empty patches and such. yes theres different types of open worlds, but if you gonna make a map this big fill it up a bit more (Far Cry and Just Cause for example, especially 1 and 2) or downsize it a little bit.
I'm just now waiting for Sniper ghost warrior 3, to see which i actually i find better; Till then i might as well look forward to more seriously Hilarious stuff you can do in this one.
Ya, Wildlands mission repetition does not feel nearly as repetitive as Division and has more variety than GTAV, Just Cause 3, and Fallout 4. Even the lather, rinse, repeat, can fail you if the enemy spots it dead amigo or even hears the bullet impact. Wildlands vehicle handling leaves a bit to be desired esp when compared to GTAV and Just Cause 3. But at this point, no-one matches the variety of environment that is in Wildlands. Even the variety that was in GTAV, Just Cause 3 or even Skyrim, pales in comparison simply due to the sheer size of the Wildlands map. Plus the coop is fairly nicely done allowing you to enjoy time with friends without it being solely PVP. But we shall see how the PVP plays out. Ubisoft failed with the Division, but is improving with Siege. Leaves me with a 50/50 guess on how Wildlands will play out.
Witcher 3 is the best open world game out there. There is incredible depth in every area and no real dead space. Each and every location and town have multiple stories to tell. The world is packed with quests and enemies to fight. It never starts getting repetitive with good controls albeit not excellent. And among that, it tells one of the best stories of any visual media within the past 5 years. In my mind Witcher 3 is a hard game to dethrone since it did a lot. And it did it all extremely well. Fallout 4 and GTA V had big worlds but they felt empty. There were some quests here and there but there were no stories to be told...
Well he says the game is repetitive and yes i suppose it is but isn't every game repetive...Battlefield Call of Duty they all end up the same after a while.... i love this game it is absolutely beautiful
I'd say the World of Warcraft is probably at least 40 times bigger than this map, but I don't think that counts as an answer because it's in a slightly different category than just saying its 'open world'. With that said, I fucking love this game. And the map is genuinely HUGE. There is tons of shit to do and the map is full of LIFE. The game is fun and ridiculous. I happen to enjoy the hell out of this combination.
what about horizon zero dawn? no other game that I can think of that can combine a huge open world, so many activities, going from basic hunting and foraging for animals for skins and meat (think 10,000 BC) to having this futuristic focus as your earpiece, rendering some of the world as digital, the presence of machine animals, and exploring space - age cauldrons (10,000 AD? and I haven't completed the entire game yet so no spoilers please lol). Open-world games are gonna get better and better in the long run, I envision the day when GTA X comes out and by then we'll be able to explore entire planets without any problems...
I am having so much fun just running around in the environment . And every leader I kill and destroy ... it's so satisfying . I have 15 hours in and it is so fucking fun . The processes are similar , but it is always fun for me . It's how you look at it. I consider fallout 4 to be the best open world game out right now . That isn't saying much .
Sry for my bad english xD Should I buy this game if I want something like gta 5? Can you do more things in gr wl than gta 5? Is it a good and FUN game for just going around the map and doing stupid and fun stuff? (with and without friends?) I really want to buy this game as it seems to be good and at least fun ;)
Migdaboss 69 It's an RPG so the enemies beed to be that way, Also it takes a lot for the enemies to kill you too you don't see the enemies complaining.
no matter size . game is interesting for you or its not . or its interesing at first but get boring later. for now i tryed trial 2 times in all 10 hrs to play and i love this game. for comparrison i would say compare it to MGS5 gameplay wise only its similar to do missions. or its like watch dogs 2 just tactical shooter. it has similarities to other games sure, but for me for now its one of most interesting games. and repeatitive missions is not problem. they logical . you would do those missions in real life .that what game is about rly.
