How Broken are Configs with Aim Assist? 

Great video; it's nice to have a direct comparison between different FPS caps! I can tell you that when I decided to try playing controller from the ground up a few months back - having never played controller FPS in my life - I was blown away by how easy it was to pick up! It took a few hours to build up some basic dexterity so I wasn't flinging my aim around like a maniac, but pretty soon I was lasering people with headshots and making some disgusting clips! This explains why that is, and it really goes to show how easy it is to scale your aim up to and past the level of a KBM player if you just have a good rig and a bit of practice!

The reason Strix feels so much easier, although you might not be able to tell why, is because the increased strength of the aim assist means that during the period of scoping in for a shot while you cant see anything, the aim assist continues to track the enemy.

As someone who has reached gm in season 4, 5, and 6 on KBM, my aim does not look like that at all (N00bForceZer0). Even the guy who has reached number 1 gm multiple times, GrozanovFPS, if you watch his videos, his aim isn't even close to as good as this. People have reaction speeds to follow movement or have to predict movement in order to follow this smoothly. These sort of micro adjustments the aim assist makes to follow even the slightest strafe is absolutely unreal - and it makes tracking the target seem trivial. This kind of aim looks even better than some with cheats - closet cheaters don't always press the key. Whereas this is a extremely consistent, extremely strong advantage that isn't classified as cheating? Jeez. It's no wonder Overwatch disables aim assist when you're playing on PC.

This explains SO MUCH about the games I've been having since returning to paladins after a long hiatus from it.

Thank you for making this video. It really just throws off the brawl-like nature of paladins when someone has a significantly lower TTK because of headshots

I play on console and never understood why pc players complained so much about aim assist until this video. I had no idea people changed game files to make it easier to shoot since in console you are locked at 60 fps so its not even close to this amount of magnetism to land headshots. Now I understand that this is a real problem, making so unfair for everyone that plays being honest

Forcing everyone to play with active crossplay in the ranked queue and in tournaments after the end of the PPL simply killed this game and its KBM community. The entire player base lost in recent years will never return because of this.

You’d think the 60 fps should have slightly higher aim assist to account for the lower frames but for some reason this game just breaks when it has uncapped frames

the problem isnt the config files, the problem is the way the aim assist functions

would have been cool if you also talked about bullet magnetism for headshots and the absolutly busted airstrafing that controller gets. still nice vid!

Thx for making this vid :) I played with a controller, and is unfair the fps no cap helping ppl with good pc. Even with bad ping (from Perú is usually 90-110), I thought that if I get a better PC would be easier to beat some of them (u confirm that). I stopped playing because it was frustrating lose (or do worse) just because I have a regular PC and not a high end PC. Love u :)

Controllers in most games tend to be a inferior competitive option. But of course that doesn't aply if the god dam aim assist is somewhat attached to the frame rate.

Why the hell is Aim Assist even tied to FPS that's so stupid. "Oh yeah the spread of your weapon depends on the resolution of the game" Why is this even a thing?

Finally someone well known in the community points this out. A while back had a discussion with someone who uses controller on PC, going as far as changing the game to look like it was made in roblox. He said it was just because he "likes how it looks" and got upset when I pointed out the aim assist is tied to FPS.

And also there's that program that remaps your KBM to controller inputs so you can have this level of aim assist on KBM. I don't remember what it's called but I watched a vid about how everyone is using it in The Finals.

watch the viktor shot at 8:10 , you BARELY hit his feet and got a headshot for it. this is so broken it's funny. Game is actually unplayable with the amount of cheaters (whether it's actual aimbot which is common enough, or just "legal" cheats)

yeah... thanks for the comparisons. the 60 fps clips look like something a good mouse player can achieve, and that's probably the environment in which hirez tested aim assist, meant for consoles. 144 looks unfair against most players except maybe the very best in m&k*. but above that it's just stupid. ranked crossplay opened a can of worms that can only be closed by addressing how aim assist works from the ground up. *not counting that it takes years to build that sort of tracking and aiming on m&k and the process is clearly much quicker and easier on controller in these settings

I just got my old USB PS2 controller and plugged on PC and at 175fps (default cap) and the tracking is quite strong, I just played 10 minutes and found how good some characters are with it, now I imagine how much better is to play with a modern controller and of course have some weeks or months training FPS games with controller, because just using it is not going to make you better, but when you become good enough to be at the same level you were with KBM then aim assist makes it even better.

Great video. You said it : it's absurd and unfair. It is like running a 100m with Usain Bolt where he starts at start point and you start at 70m, and then when you win, you think you are genius. That's weird thinking. Where is the fun out of it. I am talking about the real fun, it's not a real fun if there is unfair situations, that's egoistical fun, like trying to determine who's the best cheater.

Oh so I wasn't crazy when I noticed pc player with controller destroying people, Androxus/Cassie players solo fighting 1v5. All the downvotes and git gut I received....It was clear as day they had an huge advantage. This was one of the main reasons that made me drop the game, once you go high on ranked it's literally full of these guys. Sad part is they think they're good because "duuuh I'm using dah controllar duuuuuh"

I hate aim assist and I wish it didn't exist. Or you can leave this shit for controller players and don't allow them to play with KBM players.

As someone who started playing this game on switch, and played for like four or five years, and then had to switch to Xbox and readjust, and have been playing for about a year; it's amusing how little of a problem this is, to the most fringe abusers of the mechanics, and how a fix will probably further isolate casuals and further reduce the player base. Games built on bubble gum, tape, and rumors of what the last devs did to make things work. The real issue to address is having 50+ characters with various skills and rules spread across a now fractured less coherent item shop and card building system with zero repercussions for afks and bots. As the player base shrinks, and more dedicated players plague the devs ears with their very real, important, and mechanical complaints that were combed through a fine niche brush, the game will isolate itself into obscurity quicker. This is why Maeve's bonus damage time was cut in half, why Tyra's hunters mark talent was cut in half, etc etc etc.

Hey, Bees. After downloading the config used in this video file, what should I do next to apply it in the game?

I play on PC controller, I haven't seen the source code of the game so I don't know for sure if high fps increases aim assist strength (I don't have a high refresh rate monitor to test myself). But this video is useless without an input display. I can do almost everything you've done here on just normal 60fps just because I play a lot. If you had a handcam or input display, you could show how much of this is you and how much is aim assist.

Where do i put the config file? I don't see paladins in my documents folder

just watched this video, this is crazy that's why i have lost some many games to this people using controller, like some matches feels unplayable when they have koga or strix in team, iam starting to hate this game bevause of this like my aim inst god like with mouse

im a console player, I've wanted the ability to turn off aim assist since open beta. It is so annoying for players who are confident in thier aiming skills are constantly fighting with the aim assist. Fair enough if you need some help but theres no reason to not have the option to turn it off all together.

On console aim assist doesn't even come close to this

I would even lock the game fps on 60 until they fix it But i honestly can't understand how they can have such a bad anticheat system. Just configs are often extremely op, but such autoaim without even cheating? Edit: maby lock the fps on 30, 60, or 120 fps while controller is connected and give the higher fps a bit less Aimassist. And fix the anticheat.

As a PC Controller player, you've not even taken it to its full limit. If you practice side-strafing in shooting range on the Pips, you'll notice how much easier it becomes to headshot/aim when you are faster than your target. Increasing movement speed (e.g. buying Nimble) effectively makes it a lot easier to headshot 1v1 on tracking characters like Lex/Talus or even Khan because you aim with both sticks and can take extra advantage of the AA from strafing while relying less on pure aim with your right thumbstick.

Cheating aside. What computer, controller, and game settings do you use to optimize the game?

u know 60fps on pc is very different from 60 fps on console. i do agreed that aim assist on pc is a little broken. i play both on console and pc and aiming on console is way harder and is has more delay that's why most console player are trash

Higher fps gives you a smoother feel and more control over your aim. The higher your fps the less delay you have. The higher the fps you have the more time you have to react. Aim assist in paladins has always been a bit too strong and ever since I started playing this game back in the beta days I've said this. It's not as bad as games like Halo or splitgate tho. Still, it could get a nerf. Imo kbm is just better but i can't deny that controller is just a lot easier.

Is uncapping your FPS allowed or bannable? I do not want to use it with a controller just so my 360 HZ monitor can do what its supposed to. Ingame limit is 175 FPS.
