That’s so wonderful to hear. I am just getting exposed to SK culture through BTS. And the touchy feely nature of them shocked me at first bc I didn’t understand it. I didn’t understand how this could be manly. Or masculine. Now I’m realizing it’s actually it’s endearing and healthy.

@@arcollins040thomas8 Healthy is exactly the right word I think. Things are changing, but Korea is a very conservative country. Where western children are surrounded by sexual images/programmes etc and become aware of things at an earlier age, Korean children do not and therefore don't equate physical intimacy with sexuality. It also helps that boys and girls generally don't mix after the age of 7 (altho' this is changing too) because of the Confucion nature of the country's belief system. Interestingly tho' Korean boys DO NOT kiss each others' faces and react badly if someone does. There's a funny Run BTS episode where Jin puts his face really close to Tae's and Tae kisses him on the cheek! Jin goes mental!! 💜

@@kafjaf6387 I think I saw a clip of it! And one where Jimin was going to kiss Suga and he freaked out. I was shocked by that because they touch each other so much, I didn’t understand why a kiss on the cheek would be bad. Here boys never sit on each other hold hands or lay on each other or sleep together. At first this was a culture shock to me. I honestly thought they were all gay. It’s sad how perverted America has become, honestly.

@@beany1944 I understand it sort of because if you have never seen men be this way and it looks like a relationship to you, you would do the same thing. How they are with each other is what we do with a partner. And sometimes not even a partner in public.

@@theLoveInUrEyes we are learning over here in the west. Everything here is sexualized sadly. I had never seen so much affection among men in my life until I found BTS. It takes getting used to. But I’m loving understanding how it’s all about love and friendship.

The people in the west is to be blamed, if a man hug even his dad it's sexualised by westerners over there, how sick must your mind be to do that. I believe that is why so many men struggle with their emotions. If they cry they are branded a sissy or a girl, if they do music in school instead of sport a gay label hangs around their necks, even in my culture it applies I hate it with a passion.

@@beany1944 I’ve never heard of a man hugging his dad as being gay. It’s really all males though who don’t do affection or show emotions. I always that was normal and a display of masculinity. Until recently.
