What kinda name is Rimac! Sounds like a Dildo/But plug. The Nevera looks like a generic car with i3 headlights. Can't stand this Mate guy, I respect his graft but I'm not a sheep, I don't have to like him/his products just because everyone else does.
What kinda name is Rimac! Sounds like a Dildo/Butt plug. The Nevera looks like a generic supercar with BMW i3 rear lights. Can't stand this Mate guy, I respect his graft but I'm not a sheep, I don't have to like him/his products just because everyone else does.
FAKE NEWS - the Rimac doesn't Already MILLIONS of cars w/ FSD in them. TESLA FSD v12.4 is Superior in every way. Tesla FSD can even go OFF ROAD , just drop a pin ANYWHERE. and Tesla FSD can drive you Parking spot to Parking spot w/ ZERO interventions. BEST of all TESLA cars only cost $35,000 and $99/ mo FSD.
Rimac father is going to jail and Mate is hugely disliked in Croatia because of his connections with super corrupted governmen, false promises, breaking literaly every deadline, public money laundering etc. Even for this Verne he bought Israeli software and Korean car, mixed it in one and that's it. All with money that super corupt government stole from its citizens. Rimac co. is basically no1. money laundering factory in Croatia, led by a known con artist from criminal family...
I don't know if you noticed but the environment portrayed on the screen didn't match the actual environment the car was in. This was literally just a marketing graphic. A promise one could say.
"The marketing i like" - great to hear that you like being lied to. The whole UI on the screen is fake (just a concept at this point) and doesn't show you any real information. Obviously, a cheap virtual car ride made in blender by a random freelancer would look better than Tesla's real functioning system that relies on it's surroundings, not on downloading 3d models of cities from the internet. Tesla isn't the best company and I'm not really interested in it, but the fact that it has the best software/hardware interaction on the market is out of the question. Rimac will never be even close considering the lack of knowledge and resources. Even during the concept phase they already have realized that their system won't be able to determine the shape of the car in front of it, so they made the decision to turn all other cars into cute little green and gray boxes. How is that more detailed than the Tesla's system? Not to mention the fact that the car itself doesn't have the superpower of top down view, and can't see what's in front of it if there's something in the way, so it won't be able to show three cars in a row. So yeah, it looks higher def and a bit more detailed (no) only in this promotional concept art. It won't look anything like that in the real thing.
You really think this is free? :D Mate knows all about the trends in car industry, he's well aware that carwow is no.1 channel for this kind of promotion with Mat Watson being probably the most influential motoring journalist in the world right now. This kind of cooperation surely includes some kind of compensation. But on the other hand, Mate Rimac and his projects are currently the hot stuff in the industry - so even if this marketing space is free / organically earned, it would still make a lot of sense as well.
They are using mobileye as a tird party for the main feature of the car. That absolutely takes everything out of their control. And the car is useless without it working perfectly! I'm sorry, I don't believe they'll do it in even in 10 years.
It's a recorded animation. VERY much different than actually recreating the outside world in real time, based on sensor input. And they showed nothing of the sort. So it's all talk
its giving me serious demolition man vibes actually... and then when he said the passengers will be cocooned in an accident... i know he never meant the passenger compartment will fill with foam that hardens and you need to break out but i soooo wish thats what he meant!
I admire Mate Rimac for what he's does. From the Bimmer, all the way to Rimac, and now to his Robotaxi. He's truly living up to Nike's slogan, "Just Do It".
It's a money laundering scheme. And siphoning fund from the EU with the help of the ruling party in Croatia. His father was just sentenced to prison for fraud last week.
I feel like for a concept like this, the best method will be easily removable batteries. So It comes for cleaning, change to a charged battery and it's out on the road in an even shorter time
The big secret is that no one has the tech, ie self driving software to make any of these cars driverless. The first company to get the software down will probably be Tesla, then everyone else will license the software off of them, as it is so difficult to develop.
Building the car is the easy bit, the back office AI computing engine is the hard bit, just google how much Tesla has invested into Dojo, that’s the hard bit.
Where are the airbags situated? You aren’t normally allowed to put your feet up because in the case of the forward airbags being deployed, your legs get broken.
@@Metal0sopher the reason why self driving cars are being developed so much, is because at some point in future all cars will be able to have a self driving feature, and self driving might just be safer and more efficient since an AI can't be distracted or can't feel sleepy and won't occupy an entire seat.
Except it isn't more detailed. Tesla now also shows blinkers, brake lights, has different models for different car sizes etc. This is a nice UI mockup.
@@Jeroenneman Tesla also shows things that aren't there and misses things... I was terrified after driving a Tesla when it was snowing, nearly hit a man while parking since I thought it was real sensors and not just vision... No way I would let it drive by itself with that bad detection.
they said it'll use other sensors as well, independently. I guess sometimes in the future every vehicle will have to have some kind of beacon, be able to transmit telemetry and part of a network right from a factory
Because there are so many more pressing and immediate issues that make this fantasy just that, a fantasy that will never see your neighbourhood. Also, when industry or our rulers need any harmful technology, they just order ‘research’ to show that it’s all safe.
UNEMPLOYMENTE is going to love this!!! 😂😂 funny how "Car guys" with "social awarness" work super hard to make something that would brought us even more appart as society (including less jobs, less interactions ) and also gather just the duIIest asspects of a car
having to wait for the bus. Busstop not being nearby. Luggage Space. Privacy. Service around the clock. if this is available for a decent price I see myself taking this vehicle regularly. Even though I live in the city and drive the bus every day to my university... Especially on a night out I see this as a absolute win, last year even tho I am a big guy I got attacked in the night on my way home by 3 dudes that put me into hospital...
This must be very efficient for it to make sense to lose vertical space in the front for a second row of seats and luggage. It is good thinking to go for comfort and luxury, as most large companies will probably opt for small, cheap cars and will gain in volume in a crowded and very competitive market.
People should realize that the maker or breaker of this service is actually the self-driving technology - which has not yet been perfected by any company. Everything else is secondary at best.
Where I live dozens of Waymo's driverless converted Jaguar iPaces are picking up paying passengers and ferrying them to their destinations all the time. So the technology is demonstrably working in the real world. Cruise's converted Chevy Bolts were doing the same until they were caught misleading regulators about about a secondary accident (human driver struck a pedestrian, then a Cruise car dragged the pedestrian). Perfection isnt needed! The cars are never not looking in all directions, they always signal, they are smooth and predictable. They are already far, FAR better drivers than the 50% of human drivers that are worse than average, who are borderline distracted homicidal maniacs. As a pedestrian, cyclist, and driver there's no comparison what I prefer to be driving around me
@@skierpage Take an average human driver in any city of this world and he will manage to drive a car. Take a Waymo car from its trained environment and it will not be able to drive. There is a fundamental misunderstanding of how humans drive. The core component is the survival instinct and fear of death, which has not been yet able to be modeled into technology.
Waymo (Alphabet owned) has an actually working L4 robotaxi service operating in San Francisco and Phoenix. Surprised Mat called out Zoox (Amazon) and Nvidia and not Waymo
He's not going to scale, this is little more than a pretty prototype, but its cool to see Bugatti heading in the right direction, competition in the marketplace is great for consumers!
That's a concern. If you can't open the door without first adjusting your seat and reaching your destination, it poses a problem. In an urgent situation where you need to use the restroom and something goes wrong, being unable to exit the car could be a significant safety issue.
@@Techridrhow do you not understand that building 5 Bugatti a year for 3.8 Million each vs 100k self driving cars that you have to prefinance to turn a profit is a difference
CarWow pleeeeease drag race old sport cars, every one would love to see IT, so many memories: Opel Calibra 2.0 16V 150 HP Mitsubishi Eclipse 2.0 16V 145 HP Hyundai Coupe 2.0 16V 139 HP Ford Cougar 2.0 16V 130 HP Peugeot 406 Coupe 2.0 16V 138 HP Renault Megane Coupe 2.0 16V 150 HP Honda Prelude 2.0 16V 133 HP Toyota Celica 2.0 16V 156 HP BMW 320i Coupe 2.0 24V 150 HP
There is a war going on above our heads involving these advanced technologies. But let’s be honest… Who asked for a self driving car? Does society really need to replace chauffeurs, taxi, drivers, a dad or mom driving their kid to the store?
I like to drive my car and my cars have mostly been manual transmission which is a huge part of the experience for me. I bet there’s a lot of people that would like a more affordable vehicle that has less tech. Just a radio, a powerful engine, good brakes and a gear shifter.
Prototypes based on Mobileye 's system are already capable of driving in city traffic. @EngineeringExplained has a video of such a vehicle called "Are Autonomous Cars Closer Than You Think?" from November 2022. So the development has been going on for many years. This is not Elon's wet dream.
@@Dqtube tbh Elon gets logs of millions of miles from his fleet and Tesla still only has a very very good cruise control. There's just too much random shit in the real world. Like, Teslas do fine in traffic 99% of the time and then that 1% they just do some stupid shit because they hallucinated something or didn't realise what something was. Mobileye seems no better. They have a video from last month in a Polestar doing a left turn without right of way and it stops to let some pedestrians go between the left and right lane, waits for a car with the right of way inside the intersection to pass and then goes, not seeing that there's a second car coming. So in an ad video it did 2 things correct (waited for pedestrians and a car with the right of way in the intersection) and two things wrong (stopped between two lanes, cut off the second car with the right of way). (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y-narqkuI24.htmlsi=aum2lZOnydqmJlj-) Kek. They also have a roundabout video where you have two lanes going in and out of it and since it doesn't see through the windows of the car next to it and since it's indecisive on getting going it cuts off a polo which can be seen changing from the outer to the inner lane to avoid the autonomous tard slowly creeping while already blocking the lane anyway. (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4Va3Opqqbfo.htmlsi=-vvwAAtb3gYii2nz) I'd love to see them succeed and was hyped 10 years ago but the more I get involved the more I realise keeping it at advanced cruise control for a couple more years might not be a bad idea.
@@Dqtube No it is Bugatti. Tesla is real for all roads in all condition, with very low cost. The car is not even finished. Tesla has 6 million cars in the road as of now, and they all (if the owner wish) become robotaxis. No need to wait for mass production.
For a taxi this concept is fine. A self owned car should ALWAYS have the option to self drive. Example: You are hiking in the woods with your kids. Something happens at home and you need to be back very very fast. At that moment you dont want to be dependent on AI to drive, that is a situation you want to be able to drive yourself as you can and will break traffic rules and take calculated risks to go the fastest possible without endangering yourself or your surroundings. There is an endless list of examples where the need of being able to drive yourself with disabled autosteer/autopilot may be required in the current stage of self driving ability of cars
Well, it's generally a good thing, to get rid of shit jobs - but there would have to be a discussion about wealth distribution going on at the same time, which unfortunately is not the case.
hey guys, here is a solution for the engineers for matts suggestion of forward view. Just have a camera display the forward view on the screen, wide screen. It could also show rear or side view. Could be changed using an app on the customers phone. They could essentially people watch by clicking buttons on their phone and having the tv screen display different camera around the car. Would be fun.
i don't know if you should laugh or cry that a supercar company has a better chance to compete with tesla for the next 10 years than any other OEM in the world rn 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Tesla aren't even in the top 10 for the market share of cars sold world wide lol and only 3.8% of the us car market. theyre just a loud minority like the vegans who drive them lol
It used to be like people paied for high quality leather, natural expensive wood and so on. Now this guy next to Matt says for seat and wide monitor "best of the best" 😂, LOL.
9:15 “the brave ones can put their foot” up on the “alter arm rest”. This is a taxi concept, so shoes with nice poo are now on the material up front in the car. Great!! Keep your shoes on the floor mat
I think they also need to make a 4 seater too for families with kids. Croatia has some smaller tighter roads. If those guys can make it work there, it can work anywhere.
You clowns in the media have four years been saying that this model car or that model car will be a Tesla killer or will beat Tesla and you have been wrong every single time, every time! 😮. 😂.
I'm always surprised when reviewers are _astonished_ that robotaxis are planned to be less expensive than rideshares/taxi. Like IT'S THE WHOLE POINT. You're getting rid of the most expensive part of the service: the driver. Taxis are ridiculously expensive in the context of ditching your car to only use that when needed. Robotaxis need to be so cheap that they compete with car sharing services (like Zipcar, Exo, and Communauto) and car rental, which is entirely possible considering that the automated driving solves the problem of having cars sitting in parkings, unused. You should be able to make a 10-15km trip for $5-10, and a day-long 500km road trip for less than $100 (car doesn't need to stay with you all the time, just while you're traveling).
Interesting how glass roofs always create such a can-ny acoustic signature. Upon hearing you talk it is pretty abvious, and the same kind of sound as in the Tesla Y I am just getting to know.
Take the feedback> automate the screen to flip forward with a tap of a button or with voice control and the screen lowers forward and flat to give more forward visibility and switch to a minimalist heads-up display. Low contrast and non-distracting. 😊
To they Verne team, if You go to UK you should start from city named: Milton Keynes. It's a city with most roundabouts and grid road styling in centre. Easiest to implement your service there and then grow up to whole country.
As a car guy, this is genius! I hate driving on traffic, would love just to chill out and watch my fav show instead of dealing with angry people at traffic.
