I just stumbled on your video and was happy to see all the details about this place. I actually booked a night there before seeing it for an early flight to Incheon airport, Seoul in August. You just solidified my choice! I actually came to Japan in 2018 to visit Japanese friends I made while I was visiting Korea. I went to Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. I'm coming back this summer to see the fireworks with my friend in Nagaoka and will come back to Kyoto as I want to stay longer in the area. I'll be sure to subscribe and watch all your insightful videos. Coucou de France 👍

On a major booking site, the room type you stayed in didn't seem very cheap at over 11000 yen for a night later this month. However, on the First Cabin site, the same room, same night, pay at hotel option was only 6680. I've never seen such a big difference between a booking site versus a direct hotel booking. I've stayed at the Nikko KIX 4 times, most recently 2016. I don't think First Cabin was open when I was last there, but I'll consider it next time, especially given how expensive the Nikko is these days.

That's the power of sakura season for you! Never tried the Nikko, but Sakai-shi usually has better value options for the compromise of being a little bit further away towards Osaka.

I'm planning to book this on my next trip in Kansai so this video is perfect 🙂Just one question, it's my first time using a capsule hotel, is it allowed or appropriate to use alarm clocks? I have a morning flight and I dont want to miss it, do you have any tips on how to wake up early without bothering other capsule hotel guest?

I'm glad someone's found it useful! Good question this - my watch vibrates to wake me up, but to be honest you're fine just using your phone alarm. Just be sure to turn it off quickly, especially if it's super early. They used to do old fashioned wake-up calls here. Maybe they stopped because of that virus thing, or maybe they just stopped.
