Hope u don't bring bad culture to this country like your fellow countryman, Syrian barber in Bukit Bintang, who cheated British tourist RM120 for simple hair cut that supposedly only RM15. He gave BAD NAME to Malaysia BIG TIME. If I'm an interior minister, I should've banished him in 24 hours and banned him for life, not to come back to Malaysia again

To became a perfect expat in Malaysia, you need travel to East Malaysia region of Sabah and Sarawak, you will find another beauty of Malaysia. However, East Malaysia's region have their own immigration, so, make sure bring your passport. I would say Malaysia's immigration need to be strict, because Malaysia's geographic location are very strategic, many illegals foreigner stay over the limit.

Malaysian immigration office has to be strict. Because there are millions of foreigners living in Malaysia and half of them are coming here illegally and few hundreds of thousands abused their 3 months tourist visa to enter without exiting Malaysia. This is real problem that Malaysian Immigration Department have to deal with.

The PR amd Citizenship process is discretionary in Malaysia. The entire process and qualifications are stated in the Constitution which is its sole document. So, just keep applying and re-apply if rejected (seek legal counsel first) until you get it. Yes its annoying and troublesome but thats the process. In addition to it write in formally to the Home Minister seeking your intention as it is the full authority of the Home Minister under the Constitution to approve all and any applications. The National Registration Department is the facilitating and management organization. Its all clearly stated in the Constitution.

Different state's departments apply the same policies wildly differently, from experience this goes for immigration, private education, and local councils. This isn't a surprise though as Malaysia is heavily heavily bureaucratic and overly centralised with a very autocratic culture which applies to the civil service. My experience years back was that the Selangor immigration department was massively helpful. The KL one is a black pit of despair where you need to not do your homework (it'll be wrong), where immigration officers sat next to each other contradict one another, there is no information provided or practical workflow for customers but you can get what need. Bring water, a book and a local.

The immigration is strict over long-term visas or PR because over the years Malaysia has been getting quite popular and a lot of these PR applications are cheats. So the immigration has to be detailed and strict over any application they received. However, my dealings with the immigration here has always been professional. They have been very helpful and polite. I'm applying for my husband's PR soon, the checklist is long but that's the immigration process anywhere in the world, I reckon.

Malaysia does not grant citizenship to foreigners and giving PR is very rare regardless if you are holding MM2H (My Malaysia 2nd Home) program. Getting spouse visa is also very hard. Malaysia is not Singapore whom give out PR higher rate than Malaysia. PR is usually given to applicants have valuable skills or BIG BIG business owner in Malaysia. Malaysia's policy on granting citizenship is 2nd strictest after Brunei as these country are protecting their own citizen and respective countries interest. There is always alternative country for foreigners to go to as long as their passport allows them.

My guy, PR and citizenship are two different things. I can understand your perspective of Malaysia wanting to preserve their culture and bloodline, in fact, majority of countries do so. But if someone fell in love with your country and have been living there for more than a decade and would like to simply continue living there, what's the harm of issuing a PR?

@@M.Ali11 You cannot force a government to give you PR just because you want to stay. This matter of the hosting country’s sovereignty and their discretion. The hosting country reserves her right to grant PR to whom they deem fit (financially and clean background) and best to help the growth of the country. No Tom, Dick or Harry will be stupid / idiot enough to give a room in their house to total stranger to stay in permanently. We don’t want a bunch of nut case / hooligans / troublemakers disturb our culture and society (like on-going nutcase arguement on LGBTQ issue in the west and etc). There is always other countries willing to accept you.

@@M.Ali11 Singapore give out PR selectively based on whether individual's skill, working experience, knowledge is unique and a talent needed for businesses and industries in Singapore and any business opportunities to be brought to Singapore. All governments are realistic and protecting interest of their people. Singapore is also realistic and materialistic and has her commitment to her people (same for all governments). No foreign governments (apart from your country of origin) owes you PR status. There are so many countries for you to try your luck.

I believe different nationality has different expectation and it's always a big decision when come to live in a new country and start from scratch. As for me, I moved to live in Australia and had young kids for their best education is our top priority though we missed our favourite durian, local M'sian foods and the far away beaches in the east coast. But nowadays, best M'sian foods are easily found all over the world and durians are grown in Darwin Australia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Hainan Island of China. With the best money 3 times of Ringgit, we are happy to travel 3 times a year via M'sia to other part of Asia. We found M'sian food in M'sia are no longer taste like M'sian which are greatly diluted by migrants taking over the traditional hawker stalls and restaurant outlets. M'sia living cost is still hard for ordinary income earners unless you're like this young lady who earn S$ and spend in M'sia. Asian people are generally helpful, kind and friendly as culturally they have no fear or feel suspicious for foreign people unlike foreigners who are polarised with their wealth, status quo and prefer to keep their privacy to themselves. And I was told M'sia is a much easier country for Muslim to migrate from the middle east if I'm not wrong.

I love Kazakhstan because there got my role model like Khabib Nurmagomedov, islam Makenchev, Usman Nurmagamedov,Umar Nurmagomedov,Zubaira Abiliev,Magomed Sharipov and also not forget to our respectful coach in MmA history Allahyarham Abdul Manap a.k.a Khabib father.. But for some reason, let's agree to disagree..By watching their daily lifestyle, the way they practice islam as the religion, and how they are proud to be a muslim..which, also how they control themselves for being humble, even most of them has already been listed as one of the best mma fighters (p4p/goat) in the world.. That is really amazing and another levels..Surprisingly, with all that they achieve in their life, they still can consistently control themselves as a good believer who follows the teaching of islam.. I believe, By the fact and examples that are shown by them, We still can confirm, Kazakhtan is still a pure muslim country which is not just by the traditional culture, but also the religion of islam.. Well., that is some of the facts/ views that make me think it differently as what you think..But that is only my personal opinion,Just a small matter.. Lets proceed to inter transfer together.. 😁

PR maybe not easy but with visa and permit, not problem to any foreigners to live and stay at Malaysia. Actually PR was huge issues then when been political tools for certain political parties. I don't to discuss about it. Just let it be as annual routine for permit and visa rather than thinking about PR. After all, its actually easy to get after you know the system and know the peoples.
