Hint : They didn't and you'd have to be on some serious drugs to think that they did and please do us all a favor and never work a day in construction, many of us enjoy being alive. If you're still way too stupid to not believe me and enjoy the Foreign Empire of the Divided States Corporation's propaganda by their Chinese backed companies, then you won't enjoy the fact if you paid attention at all. You do know this hospital collapsed 3 months after it opened, right? Lot of people injured and a few died. Just because you see a lot of people doing things quickly, doesn't mean they're doing things right - or building things to last.
This is what can be done when people work together to get something done. No bullshit, no bureaucratic delays, no slacking, no tries to claim credit or gain personal benefit. This is just people working together for a single goal. Around the world, you see this kind of coordinated effort after disasters like earthquakes, and then all the local people work together to try to dig out any survivors. This is the same sort of thing, except that these are not just well-meaning neighbors, but organized engineers and construction crews sent by the government. Chinese are exceptionally good at pulling together to get things done.
I've never seen a road worker actually work. They dig up the street in a single day, then nothing happens for 3 years, and then one morning the road is magically fixed.

Being in commercial construction/plumber myself. This is absolutely incredible. “Poor” building or not, half of America’s projects Take way too long and cost way too much. If your saying it’s because of “construction codes” you’ll be suprized to find how many corners I’ve seen cut because of shit being dragged out so long that stuff is either forgotten to do or just missed all together and most new construction houses I’ve noticed have less issues because they are thrown up in 5x the speed they used to be.

This build was epic in every way. The fact that all of that was brought together and the endless hours and hurdles they overcame. You would never see anything like that here in the United States. I’m proud to live here as a disabled veteran and small business owner but I’m truly ashamed too. This country is full of lazy, selfish, and self absorbs people that do nothing but complain about working and rely on the government for handouts. With all the power, knowledge, and education we have you’d think this type of project would be simple for us but it would never clear permitting unfortunately. If it did project manager would never be able to hire enough people to facilitate this happening.

More than engineering, whoever was managing this project must be one of the best in the world. It's insane to coordinate all the work/resource/teams 24 hours a day, and being this is an emergency, many of them probably didn't work together before.
You should see Japan during evening nights when they do maintenance on railways. 1000 workers under 6 hours all heavily coordinated. It’s like ants on speed.

Another amazing fact is that this happened during Chinese New Year... the Chinese equivalent of the Christmas/New Year period where most people take leave. So many people sacrificed their holidays to ensure their fellow countrymen had somewhere to rest and recover.

The incredible thing was how they got so much material to build those building so fast. Not many people just have all that building material just laying around.

In the US, it would have to be connected to the sewer system, have a potable water supply and a reliable source of electricity. None of which exist in China. Seriously. When you see a picture of those bright shiny luxury hotels and ultra-modern skyscrapers that dot the sky of the big cities in China, you need to know there are no sewers, it's all on a septic tank system. Three times a day "honey bucket" trucks drive through the city pumping septic tanks out of these buildings. In America, those types of trucks are totally enclosed tanks, in China, they are more like big dump trucks. yes, they do spill the shit along the street. So, China is clever, but not so smart.
They can build anywhere they wanr... even outside their Domain. All they had to do is to insist it was theirs. Or just say, I don't want to recognize that it's someone else's but mine!
