And yet despite the good functionality of the Jerusalem temple for a certain time, it was ultimately a failure due to the corruption and injustice committed by those who should have faithfully complied with the prescriptions of the Torah. That is why the Son of God came to establish a new covenant better than the previous one where the congregation is where God lives, no longer taking into account the precise place of the temple of Jerusalem, but rather that union between God and his people took place in the houses..Stephen clearly stated before being martyred by the Jews, that God does not dwell in temples made by the hands of men, by dwelling I mean not being interested, nor demanding temples to be found. And the apostle Paul, referring to that pagan Athenian temple, stated exactly the same thing. Are we slaves to the temples and give them the importance they should not have? It is the question that I and anyone should ask themselves, under the new covenant.
