How Can I Make My Roller Skates More Comfortable? 

Hi! Can you guys do a video JUST on skate anatomy? I get so mixed up and confused with learning about the different parts of my skates. Just a video dissecting and just talking about the basic parts of a skate and what they do would be AH-mazing. Thanks!

The power dyne universal set barrel is shorter than the stock barrel that comes on the Panther, by at least 2mm. I 'stacked' the old retainer and the new retainer to achieve the same height, otherwise the truck won't land 'flat' on the upper barrel, which is probably not a great idea.

Love this kit. With everyone skating, cushions are so hard to find nowadays and priced at a premium. I did same thing bought new ones that kinda sorta fit but were way to soft for my weight. Bad combo. Then I bought Dime bag board cushions because they "looked" like they would work. Nope. Finally found this kit that works for Marvel plate. Phew!

So useful and relatable! I have a pair of beach bunnies and a pair of impalas. I couldn’t believe how much easier it was to turn on the impalas even though the ride wasn’t NEARLY as smooth as the beach bunnies. I went to adjust my trucks even looser on the beach bunnies but that made them almost fall off and there was no more than a minor improvement... I just realized it’s the cushions!

That's a very good applicable demonstration of material density . At about time 15:35 onward you spoke of tightening the screws . To tighten screws and know how tight they are ....... If it's your interest , you can make all your screws equal tightness ! No Problem ! ; by using a tool called a "Torque Wrench" . I think you would really like it ! I don't want to confuse you , I like you , and have watched your video a few times now , it's really good ! A torque wrench is a really a neet tool to use ! This tool reads in "Inch Pounds" or "Foot Pounds" . It tells you exactly how tight things are . I think you would really like one ! bye bye from Toronto ! I have confidence in you ! ! !

I own Candi girl roller skates and used them as a beginner to see if I liked skating at all. Turns out I did, and I took them to the skate park. I believed for awhile that I just wasn’t good enough for ramps or rails. As it Turns out it was the skates I had. I saw you with beach bunnies and I finally own some. I’m able to do ramps and rails now 🥳. But candi girls are still really good skates, just now for rails. 🥲

I have been skating on my panthers for about 3 weeks now. I had loosened my trucks as much as I could safely but was still struggling with turning easily when using my body weight (I am only 5'1 and 90lbs). Time for some less firm cushions!

I have severe hereditary bunions, but really want to get back into skating. This might be worth a try, thanks for sharing!

if you can’t get reactor magic cushions.... the Suregrip cushions will work you just need to buy 4 cones and 4 barrels in whichever hardness you want, You can also mix it up and use for example a medium barrel and soft cone on your trucks. Hope this helps :) Over here in Australia it’s really hard to get the magic cushions as there has been no stock due to covid.

Got my new cushions by power dyne "Magic Cushions". I can tell a world of difference, much smoother just rolling around in the house. Hopefully my feet won't hurt as much after 20 minutes.

I was wondering why the 'Thrust Bearing' wasn't brought up :o I was told that 'When changing the cushions on a PowerDyne Marvel plate(Panthers and Beach Bunnies) that the geometry is not correct and the truck drops to an incorrect angle. To fix this, stack a thrust bearing under the truck assembly to lift it back up to the correct height.' According to the Dept of Skate website..

Cushions, wheels, barring , insoles, compression socks ( for the win ) just about everything can be customized My question? Newly back to skating after a lot time flat footed, noticing that even with looser trucks my knee is taking the brunt of the force to move onto my edges. Should I trade out my cushions? Will that take the pressure off my knee?

Went to the site and sadly these kits are sold out :( when will they be in stock again? A skate shop sold me reactors, telling me they were the most compatible with the beach bunny’s and they didn’t work :/ I was so bummed. I hope to get my hands on a kit soon!

What stiffness are the stock beach bunny cushions? Additionally, the reactor kit comes with 4 universal and 4 step top. Will having all 8 universal cushions really help with the grinding of the king pins on the pavement if it doesn't affect the distance of the truck in relation to the boot if we do end up using the reactor kit? I'm asking because the universal magic cushion is 3mm shorter than the stock barrel beach bunny cushion.

When you realized that you forgot to buy a retainer from the skate shop and now you just have cushions.. what retainer is good for the powerdyne cushions?

I’m having some pain around the top of my feet/toes after a little while on a mini-ramp. My beach bunnies were a little tight when I got them but seemed to break in. Maybe I’m lacing them too tight? Maybe I’ll try new cushions? I’m also still getting comfortable on the mini-ramp so maybe I’m also just super tense still? 🤷‍♀️

You got sensitive knees and own some Beach Bunny, Panthers, or Jungle skates? This video will give you that solution! If you find yourself really enjoying the skate park, smaller wheels might bring back the kingpin scraping, don’t worry, once you add a slide block this will solve your issue at the skate park. If you do not see yourself skating at parks this solution will work WONDERS for your distance skating!😍

I think one of the cushions went on not quite right. Some of these cushions have a bevel in the hole. I think these are designed to sit on your kingpin which has a slight peak in the metal. Just my understanding... Love your videos though, great info!

I have stock beach bunnies. And I’m totally fine indoor skating I don’t even really stick. But boy do I stick outside. Feels like I can’t even get my skates to move. Everything is loosened/tightened appropriately, maybe I’m just weirdo cuz aren’t they supposed to be better outside with the gummy wheel?

Are cushions/bearings good for those who had wide feet? I have the rainbow riders and my skates have the factory default tightness to them. I’m just wondering if I should invest in some cushions to take the away the pain in my shins.

I have jackson boots and 3 of us tried them. I have had them for a year and still can't take them outside. We fall forward and backward so fast and easy. We have impala and candy girl and don't fall in those. What do I do. I can't figure it out. The cushions that came with them are bad. But not sure if I should get standard or conical for not tall and slipping like crazy. wheels are 78a and seem fine. is the the truck. ??? I was hoping it's just the cushions but need help which cushions to buy. I need good quality. I bought both sets of the metal pieces to go with either.

Are the softest ones ok even for park skating? I’m only 41kg and my stock ones on my panthers are so hard I am having troubles with them. For my weight I’m not sure if the medium ones would be soft enough but I also want to make sure if I get the softest ones they would be park suitable? X
